Book Update:
It exists as a book. And I suppose as a doorstop, an iffy hammer, a terrible meal- just all sorts of things.
I need to train the spine joint a little better but I'm happy for a first attempt. I'm hopeful the next two books will be less harrowing.
But prolly not, given I need to make a slip case to hold them. I do not want a single one thousand plus page book (as I'm a crone by Tubblr standards and I desire grandma print, as shown)- so I'm splitting 'Left' into two books.
Anyways, Hooray.

Book Update:
I got a second-hand cutting plotter for 50 bucks. So I was able to try thermal foil applications. It's- fucking lovely. I mean, Geez. Who could think a frog in a well like myself could have a spot of fancy?
Also I got the endpapers attached and the innards are ready for set-in. Once I finally get this cover done.
I've got to say this process has been remarkably satisfying. Frustrating as all hell but satisfying.

Book Update:
I'm figuring some things out. I've POD'ed the innards after finishing the layout. Alas, I have little interest in sewing the guts for a ~300 page manuscript so- lazy route.
As I've never done this before, I built a few small prototypes and proof-of-concepts. Not great but clearly do-able. I've need to make a screen to print the title card but then it should be assembly. Which is daunting- not to knock 'mere assembly'. Cuz, cousin, it's gonna be rough.
I really don't care for this tone of orange but I've not found a book fabric that's right. A common refrain with oranges, I suppose.

I have decided to make a book. Which I honestly haven't done in a dog's age, given how busted both my shoulders are now. But! I'm going to make a hardcover book out of my first fanfic. 66k is far more reasonable to format than 246k.
So that's what I'll do while my brain recovers from writing a 'Crime and Punishment' length indulgence. I'll post progress pictures. Maybe?
I don't know. I'm trying to be in the world again.

Look, I have no where else to put this thought but Shit Fire, I despise that fandom has decided Astarion's name translates to 'little star'. I'll push up my damned nerd glasses and be entirely embarrassing. All the DnD elvish languages are an entirely disparate language group from Common.
The likelihood of any elvish containing common Common (heh) words in a one-to-one transliteration is like ridiculous. Even in Croatian, English's 'little star' is unrecognible- and, pal, Croatian is, at least, in the same Indo-European lineage.
Alright. I feel better now.
