Guys.. I haven't died. I promise. I've been super hard at work on the print side of things and neglecting sharing but I'm excited to show you my 2022 Winter Box, A Country Winter.
It's limited to 25 boxes (with some sold already) and comes with 5 8x10 prints printed on very beautiful heavy matte paper. I'm so happy about how it all came out.
If you've been waiting to buy some prints this might be the best thing I've made.
check it out over on Alberta Beautiful

we’re in the heavy part of summer now. in the eight years I've been roaming the prairie I don’t remember humidity like this. alberta is not a humid environment and while my beard is loving it the air feels charged and strange.
so much pollution is being trapped by the moisture you rarely get a clear look at the sun anymore and everything is tinged greenish gold or much redder come sunset. it’s so refreshing to not have summer wildfire smoke and in it’s place is a very unique light environment which I have to make sure to get more of.

this year I've seen more LP elevated super cells, which are my absolute favorite, in one year than the last 3-5 years. I’ve made some ridiculous time lapses and just in general had a scenic and less pathologically dangerous storm season this year. I’ve usually kept more distance and even had the drone up for a couple of them. in short, despite fighting my way through each day health wise right now--this season has been spectacular.
I doubt everyone with massive hail damage would agree but nature is nature and she does what she likes all I can do is try to make some pictures.
oh yeah, still 3 days till I pick winners on the print giveaway!

this guy meandered as a shelf cloud for 80k while I made dinner watching it on the radar and praying it would hold out. It held out. It was serene when I arrived to it but quickly turned into one of the messiest nasty storms I’ve been on in a while. which is to say we’re in love.
don’t for get you can win a free print..

Hi! I’ve only chanced upon your blog today. I love how dramatic all your photos look—they’re lovely. I don’t really know you but finding out you’ve been battling health issues for a while now makes me sad. I wish you well and I hope you recover very soon. Thank you for the lovely photos :)
Thank you so much. It’s been a fantastically tough 18 months after I had things back on track for a few years. There isn't much to be done but keep working at making it better and really really being thankful for every good moment I get because most of the time it feels like they are not going to be in my reach forever.

what camera do you use?
I use several cameras. My primary carries right now are:
Fuji GFX-50s (stills)
Fuji X-H1 (time lapses, stills, video)
DJI OSMO pocket for quick time lapses and robot panos
and I have a few others I bring around as the mood suits me. I still love my X-Pro1, the sensor was so chunky and unique.

I’m living in the city right now but I used to live in rural sask, and I can’t explain how much your photos make me miss being there! They are beautiful and bring our a sense of melancholy within me. I hope you always stick with photography!
So long as my body works and I’m able I will always be making photos. I’m entering my third decade of doing it soon. Which feels both amazing and sad but I’m so fortunate to be able to see so much beauty. It’s a passion that has to date never died in me.

Thank you for being amazing!!! I stumbled on your site today while feeling very low (oddly through a share from one of my friends overseas). I live in Airdrie and something about seeing all of the beauty around me through your lens has helped me on this dark day. Your work is amazing!!! Thank you for creating and sharing all of this with us. ❤️
I have no words, but thank you for saying so.
