I fully believe Louis picked Daniel for the new interview because he knows Armand won't kill him. He knows what Daniel means to Aand so in this regard Daniel is safe. In the books Armand quite literally says he'd rather die then see Daniel die (but also doesn't want to turn him because Armands is a complicated guy).

But this also makes me think that Louis is going to figure out Armand's hand in Claudia's end and then attack Daniel to hurt Armand by making him watch Daniel die.

A tiny ramble about Armand/Daniel

I make no secret that I love Daniel's and Armand's relationship, be it from the books or how it could possible go in the show (let the old man fuck!!) , but I'm not sure I have ever said why.

it's because Armand was so surprised he fell in love with Daniel, not just lusting after him but really loving him.

When they first meet i Daniel looking for Lestat to become a vampire and instead finds Armand who at that point is like 500 years old and have never turned anyone and doesn't plan on changing that. Daniel is a game to Armand, he's bored and sees this young drug addict/journalist who desperately wants to be a vampire and tells him to basically keep him entertained or he'll kill him. Daniel is something to pass the time and a human he can tell what to do to hear what its like to eat foods or use random new tech.

And then he falls in love with the imperfect human, who to others seems so ordinary and the thought of him dying terrifies Armand, he says he's rather die then see Daniel die, but at the same time doesn't want to see him become a vampire. Armand truly believes that no matter what he does he will lose Daniel one day either from age or from him hating him if he turns him (Armand thinks all vampires are doomed to hate those who make them) , but in the end he goes does the one thing he never said he do for Daniel and turns him to make sure he keeps living because he decided being able to see Daniel "alive" was more important then his own love for him, even though in his mind Daniel will hate him one day he does what in the moment was the best choice to make.

Daniel 100% forces Armand's hand to get what he wants, he doesn't take care of himself to basically be close to death so Armand will turn him instead of dying, their relationship is toxic like most in the series, but there is so much between them and so much about their love I want to see more of.

I trust the show to show their complex relationship from the past to their new one with an older Daniel. Armand didn't have to choose between Daniel dying or becoming a vampire in the show yet from what we know, but I think he will have to in this next season or maybe a future one.
