Okay, so I always wondered why Kaz changed his shirt in Chapter 13. He was already covered in Inej’s blood, it would’ve made more practical sense to change after he had ripped out Oomen’s eyeball rather than ruining another shirt. But I just realised that he did it so that Oomen wouldn’t get the satisfaction of knowing how much damage he had done to Inej. Even though Kaz was going to kill him, he didn’t want him going to the grave thinking he had bested her.

And that is why Kaz Brekker is YA’s greatest romantic hero. Goodnight.
