10.10.23
It's been a while since I've been on here. I can't believe that I'm already halfway through my first semester of senior year. Today I was able to spend time studying for Hebrew and work on some of my art projects. I have a new pole vault coach this year and it's doing wonders for my mental health. I didn't really think that my previous coach was abusive until after I was no longer in that situation. I guess it can be harder to spot emotional and verbal abuse sometimes. I just thought that was how coaching at the collegiate level was done. For once, I am glad to be proven wrong.
Also, I'm trying to participate in InkTober this year so I'm posting my drawing for today's prompt. Hope you all have had a great day!

|| Tackle your Classics 2023 ||
Me? Hosting a year-long reading challenge? Yeep. It's centered on classics, because they don't usually get enough attention in reading challenges, despite the love they get from the bookblr community – and well, because I love them. It started as a personal list of books I'd like to read next year, and look, now it even has its own fancy template!
From thestorygraph's page for the challenge:
Ever feel like there are always too many classics, too little time to read them all?
This challenge is for the classics lover that can never choose the next one to read, and for the contemporary fiction reader that wants to broaden their reading horizons. The goal is to read (at least!) one classic a month, with 12 prompts to help us choose among the ocean of available world literature. Have fun!!
Use #tackleyourclassics2023 here on Tumblr to share your progress, your thoughts, your favourite quotes, anything you want, really! Oh, and feel free to tag me – I'll try to reblog as many as I can 🍂
— Some guidelines:
the challenge lasts from Jan 1, 2023 to Dec 31, 2023;
prompts are not mutually exclusive – for example, you can read three plays, one fitting under "classical literature" as well, while another could be in translation;
you don't need to do anything in particular to participate here on Tumblr, but reblogs to this posts are highly appreciated, and also allow me to find and follow you;
you can use the template above to share your progress, crossing out the completed prompts;
the prompts can be filled in no particular order!
Have fun!

Day 1/30 productivity challenge
Question: If you are in college, what are you studying?
My current area of study is art with a minor in history.
Today I was able to get myself up at 5am. I know it’s Thanksgiving break, but I want to get myself into a good routine. I was able to get completely ready, have a quite time, and have a healthy breakfast before work at 8am. That made me feel pretty good. After work I got my workout in. I ran out of time for the running part of my workout, but I’m not too worried about it. The reason I ran out of time was because I had to go pick up the dogs from the kennel. I’m not always the best with time management however I am grateful for what I have been able to accomplish today. I rewarded myself with a hot, bubble bath and a good book (for school).

04.09.22
It’s been almost two years since I’ve done an update. Halfway though sophomore year I decided to switch my major from physics to art. So I’m just starting my junior year and my second semester as an art major. I’m still pole vaulting thankfully. I’m dealing with some health struggles but nothing too big. I’m also finally in an apartment with some amazing roommates. I’ll do my best to stay consistent with posting for a while ;)

11.08.21
I thought that I should share what my July spread ended up looking like. My weekly line up was pretty bland. I recently decided to change it so I’m still figuring it out. I think that the August one will look more put together. I was also not very good at keeping my habits this month.
Another up date is that I had surgery a few days ago so I’m still recovering. Plus I move back to college in about four days. So lots happening!

August 3rd-5th of My Summer Studying Challenge ☀️
Tumblr media
3rd August - What is your least favourite thing about the beach?
Sand gets everywhere. In my bathing suit, towels, scalp, under my nails. It’s hard to feel clean at the beach.
4th August - What is your song of the summer this year?
SOS by ABBA. The Momma Mia version.
5th August - What is your ultimate summertime song?
I don’t really think I have one. I just listen to whatever.

Day 29-31 of My Summer Studying Challenge☀️
Tumblr media
29th July - What colour do you associate with summer?
All warm colors. Reds, oranges, yellows. But mainly yellow.
30th July - What would be your perfect summer day?
Waking up for a morning run then hitting the gym. Going to the beach or a pool after wards to do some reading. I’d take a dip whenever I got too hot. Then I’d take a shower and relax for the rest of the day. I’d probably watch M*A*S*H and play solitaire.
31st July - Would you rather spend the day at the beach or at the swimming pool?
A swimming pool. The water is almost always cool. Sometimes in the heat of the summer, the ocean just feels like a warm bath and does nothing to cool me off.

Days 25-28 of My 2021 Summer Studying Challenge☀️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
25th July - Daytime or nighttime – what’s your favorite time during summer?
I think night time. I love staying up late hanging out with friends or watching the sunset.
26th July - Do your sleeping habits change during summer?
Definitely. They become more messed up. I’ll always start with good intentions of having a sleep schedule and then never follow through. I love sleeping in but then I feel like I wasted a day. So then I do my best to wake up and run. However I love to stay up late so then I’m tired in the morning. To counter that I take a nap but then I can’t fall asleep at night. It’s a bad cycle.
27th July - Do your eating habits change during summer?
I’m able to eat healthier. I don’t have to rely on what the cafeteria provides and I can make more of my own meals (I live in a dorm). Plus, since I live with my parents over the summer I don’t have to go out and buy as much.
28th July - When you hear the word ‘summer’, what is the first thing that you think of?
A sun. Honestly. One of those cartoon ones.

Days 21-24 My 2021 Summer Studying Challenge☀️
Tumblr media
21st July - What is an unpopular opinion that you have about summer?
Take a summer class. I know that know one wants to but you’ll thank yourself in the long run.
22nd July - What does summer feel like where you live?
It’s hot and it’s humid and on a bad day it’s muggy. Just walk outside and you’re sticky.
23rd July - Would you prefer summer to be hotter or colder than it usually is for you?
I think a little cooler. If it was I think I’d spend more time outside then I currently do.
24th July - Would you prefer your summer to be shorter or longer?
Right now longer because it honestly feels like I didn’t really get one with how hectic and unexpected mine has been.

Days 17-20 of My 2021 Summer Studying Challenge☀️
Tumblr media
17th July - What is your typical daily routine in the summer?
If I’m not working, then I go for a morning run. Sometimes I’ll shower and take a nap right after though. I always wash my face and brush my teeth in the morning. And I’ll have a quiet time. I like to read and do it when I can. College has kinda made me board with TV. If I work then my entire routine revolves around that time period. At night I’ll usually relax and work on my bullet journal. I’ll also wash my face, brush my teeth, and stretch before finally going to bed.
18th July -  How do you stay motivated during the summer? (for example, to study)
It’s hard and I usually don’t if I’m being honest. I tell myself that I’ll feel better if I accomplish something. Which is completely true. If I don’t do anything other then laze around all day then I start to got depressed. If I give myself a list to accomplish everyday then I can actually get things done.
19th July - Do you stay indoors or outdoors more in the summer?
If there is a body of water near by then I am outside. But if not then sorry but I’d rather stay in.
20th July - Are you a ‘summer person’?
That depends on how you would define a ‘summer person’. I enjoy the time off and relaxation. I also love going to the beach or the pool and just laying out in the sun. I’m not always a fan of the heat and humidity that it brings though. I especially like it less when I have to work outside in it. Honestly if I’m not by a body of water when it’s hot then get me inside.

August 2nd My 2021 Summer Studying Challenge☀️
Tumblr media
2nd August - What do you like most about the beach?
In the early morning, before people begin to crowed the beach, it’s so peaceful. All you can hear is the sound of the waves. And the sun coming up over the horizon turns the water light pink and teal. I always just want to bask in the stillness of it all.

August 1st My 2021 Summer Studying Challenge ☀️
Tumblr media
1st August - What do you do when you go to the beach?
It depends how I’m feeling. If I’m tired then I’ll just lay on the beach and take a nap. Most the time I will read. It has to be physical book though. I never want to be on my phone on the beach unless it’s to take pictures. Whenever I get hot, I just take a dip into the ocean. And of course I always keep an eye out for some cool shells to add to the collection.

Day 13-16 of my 2021 Summer Studying Challenge☀️
Tumblr media
13th July - What is your dream vacation?
At the moment I want visit Scotland and stay for a whole month.
14th July - Would you rather stay in one resort for a month or travel across the country for one month?
I think in a resort for one month. I could get to know the area and figure out what I want to do while I’m there instead of planning everything out beforehand. I could also have days to myself to just relax.
15th July - Are there any special events for you in the summer? (for example, birthdays, festivals, etc.)
My Aunt had a birthday that we were able to celebrate. We went out for a nice dinner and got to spend time with her in general which was nice since I don’t see her very often.
16th July - Do you have any summer traditions?
Not really… I wish I did but every summer is different.

Day 12 of My 2021 Summer Studying Challenge
12th July - What is the worst vacation you have ever been on?
I can honestly say that I have not had a bad vacation. I’ve had bad moments but nothing has ever ruined my whole vacation. One time I went camping with my dad and his best friend (it was a group backpacking trip in California with a few other families). We were supposed to sleep in sleeping bags under the stars all three nights. However, on the first night it rained and there weren’t any tents. So we set up a tarp and the three of us slept under that in the pouring rain. My dad, in the middle, breathing so heavily he could have auditioned for Darth Vader. His best friend, far side, fell asleep quickly...and then proceeded to snore like a chainsaw. So I didn’t get any sleep that night but the vacation trip overall was not bad.

July 8-11 Summer Studying Challenge ☀️
8th July - What’s your happiest summer memory from your childhood?
I don’t really have a specific one. I used to bike to the pool with my friends and that was my favorite. I would spend hours outside at the pool or by the basketball courts next to it.
9th July - Do you usually go on vacation during the summer?
Yes! At least to a couple places like Colorado, Iowa, or Florida. Mostly it’s to visit family. When I was younger I would go to camp every year.
10th July - What is the best vacation you have ever been on? (note: doesn’t have to be a summer vacation)
Probably when I went to Hawaii. I was 5 and while I did get a pretty nasty ear infection while I was there, I remember mostly having a lot of fun.
11th July - What is your favourite vacation memory?
For my 18th birthday we went to Florida. I got to go parasailing for the first time and got to sign my first waiver.

Days 1-6 of My 2021 Summer Studying Challenge☀️
Tumblr media
1st July - What are your plans for this summer?
I plan to relax and take it easy for the most part. I need to come to peace about some things. I also hope to read a lot.
2nd July - Do you have a specific goal for this summer?
I want to rewrite my Calculus notes so that I’m fresh for when I go back to college and start Calc III
3rd July - Do you have a lot of work to do for school, university or your job this summer?
I really don’t have anything that I need to do for college. I am working 30 hour weeks but I don’t really mind. I still have to stay in shape for track which means working out just about everyday.
4th July - What is the most important task that you need to complete this summer?
I need to be consistent with my bullet journal. I haven’t been in the past but I need to get ahead with it this summer so that I can be organized this coming semester.
5th July -  Do you have any special plans or activities for this summer?
I’m going to Florida. I’ll be able to layout on the beach for over a week and I’m extremely excited.
6th July - What do you usually do during the summer? Is anything different this year?
I usually work a whole lot. I haven’t this summer because I had a surprise surgery on Memorial day and it kinda took me out for a few weeks.
