It was the most bitter and tart tea I've ever drank, but after a few sips I kinda... got used to it?? It started tasting okay. At some point, when my friend poured the rest of the tea from the teapot just to empty it, I automatically took the bowl in my hand to drink, and my friend was like, "NO, DON'T DRINK IT ANYMORE!!"
So yeah, I think you kinda can easily get addicted to this kind of tea lol
Spent all day thinkin abt yangchen and specifically how kavik tries her tea and almost explodes and it’s implied she drinks that caffeinated monster Red Bull 5 hour energy monstrosity every day to keep going. It’s self medication!! The shit she puts herself through constantly Must get to her so bad
Kuruk after her gets flack for being an alcoholic yet in his past yangchen did something similar to try and get by!!!
According to my friend, who's a tea nerd, she most likely drank it in the form of extremely strong-brewed pu-erh tea (not to mention that it was grown at the Spirit Oasis). This tea is traditionally drunk by Tibetan monks to help them meditate.
That same friend offered me to try and drink tea like Yangchen, and I couldn't say no because I was curious.
Well...
If you don't drink 6 shots of espresso every day or several Red Bull drinks in a row, don't try it. I started shaking a bit, and my heartbeat had increased, and my mind was racing. I literally felt a bit like Kavik lol
It's a good thing my tea wasn't from the Spirit Oasis. Kavik wasn't as lucky.

This morning 3 russian missiles hit the center of Chernihiv, one of the oldest cities in Ukraine and Europe. At least 11 people were killed and 22 injured, the rescue mission is still going, so the numbers will rise.
I'm trying to hold myself together by simply doing my job, drawing whatever makes me feel better, and meeting with my friends, but at the back of my mind is always this urge to scream out of rage and cry in despair. And, of course, there's always fear of being injured or killed by some russian rocket/drone/their debris.
Not gonna lie, my morale is at the lowest point it's been since the beginning of the invasion. Russians are successfully occupying more and more territories and shell frontline regions every day. People are dying, our culture and herritage is destroyed. International aid dwindled significantly because of american bullshit. Mobilization law has been signed and there is a chance that my family members get conscripted soon. Don't even get me started on internal political problems. A bunch of articles in foreign media talking about our defeat and "peace talks" (what a joke).
It feels like there were no at least moderately good news in a while. On top of that, the feeling that we are screaming into the void is stronger than ever. I'm happy when I see a foreigner online supporting us and spreading the word, because it gets rarer. Ukrainians feel like none of what's happening gets outside our info bubble. Most likely no one but Ukrainians will see this post either. Honestly don't know what to make of all of this.
Yangvik Week 2024 will be taking place July 14-20, and to give all of the wonderful creative people in this fandom some inspiration, we need some prompts!
Submit your prompts using this form
Prompts should be open ended for plenty of creative freedom
Prompts should be short; single words or short phrases
You can submit as many prompts as you'd like!
Prompt submission will remain open for two weeks! They will close on April 29th, and prompt voting will take place after that.
Here for the ask game: 🍀 You wish your art was more..(fill in the blank)
Love your Tolkien art btw!
Aww thank you!
Well, I'm pretty satisfied with my art right now. Maybe I wish it to be even more watercolor-like, but the thing is I use real watercolor exactly like I draw digitally, so I first need to change my approach with the medium itself and then try to incorporate it in my art heh
(☕ Do you do warmup sketches before drawing? (Bonus: do you have any to share?)
I usually go straight to drawing the thing I plan to draw, if you don’t count thumbnails. I always do thumbnails for comics and big artworks, but I probably should do some warmup sketches too. The thing is I can get distracted by them…
Since I don’t do warmup sketches, I have none to share, but I can’t leave you empty-handed, so here are some pieces of an old thing I can’t get my hands on to finally finish.
🎼 Your favorite music to draw to right now? And do you have a favourite genre or artists.
(Btw thank you so much for all the yangchen content I am loving it.)
(You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoy it!)
I'm that type of person who just turns on that one big playlist of everything I ever liked, sets it on shuffle and then endlessly skips songs until finds the one with the right vibes lol
I mostly listen to folk and indie and it's numerous variations (like folk-rock, indie-folk, indie-rock). For some reason I really love German, Nordic and Celtic folk music... My most favourites are Faun, Garmarna, Myrkur, Santiano, Celtic Woman. Lately I've got into The Crane Wives, The Oh Hellos, The Amazing Devil.
There are many more different songs in my playlist: Japanese songs, different OSTs, Ukrainian songs of course, some songs from Epic: The Musical, shanties, etc. I usually go for the vibes that's why I listen to so many songs in languages I don't even understand haha
If you're curious to experience my taste in music, you can check out this playlist: https://spotify.link/wGarEqR2KIb
This makes me seem inexperienced with technology, however, how do I like your posts? I greatly enjoy your work, I wish you the best.
Thank you so much! 💙
Oh, well, I think it's just like on other socials. All those buttons at the bottom of the post.
However Tumblr is a bit special: likes have practically no value for the post's promotion (but they're nice nevertheless), and reblogs are what really matters if you want more people to notice the post.
🎁 Do you prefer drawing fandom stuff or your own characters? And which fandoms/ocs are your favourites and why? 👀
That's a tricky question... I prefer drawing whatever my brain is obsessed with at the moment. Right now it's obviously fandom stuff (Yangchen). But I made some sketches of my OCs recently and it was such a pleasure!
Favourite fandoms:
• Middle Earth (lotr, hobbit, silmarillion and other stuff) — it's that fandom I've spend the most time in and I think at this point it runs in my blood.
• Avatarverse (more specifically the novels) — I love elemental magic systems and Asia inspired settings. Also powerful women with complex personalities 🛐
• Frieren: Beyond Journey's End kind of?? Huge Tolkien vibes but also interesting magic system and unique story.
• Witch Hat Atelier. Gorgeous artwork and story!
My OCs are personificated galaxies (Milky Way, The Andromeda Galaxy, The Triangulum Galaxy and many others) and I love all of them, but my obvious favourites are Rata (Milky Way) and Eloth (The Andromeda Galaxy). They're the oldest of my OCs and in a healthy relationship that scratches my brain just the right way. Look at them 🤲
I saw a comment under my art the other day that was basically like, "Oh, it's that artist who has her design of the Air Nomad Avatar lady used by all of the fandom," and I was like, "huh?? Are people starting to think I came up with Yangchen?? That she's my OC or something??"
No hate towards the commenter; I was just so confused. And now my brain sometimes pulls this comment from the depths of my memory, and I start to think about my life choices. And the amount of Yangchen fanart I drew...
Well, the first months of this year will probably be represented by drawings of her in my Summary of Art 2024...
