Once again, the first day of school has rolled back around, leaving behind the days of tanning at the beach and wild summer nights with friends. It’s one of those days that you’re either really excited about, or really not. Not this year, though. This year, all of East High rejoiced knowing it was Robin McDonald and Griselda Lee’s last year at that school.
Mac and Grizz, two-thirds of the troublesome trio involving them and their partner in crime, Eli Perez, would soon be leaving. And with their absence, East High might know peace for the first time in almost 4 years.
While the rest of their school celebrated their imminent departure, the trio was forced to face just how little time left they had together. But not only was their friendship at stake, but also something far greater, something much bigger than any of them.
“S-so, I just stand here? Or do you want me to move around? Or….”
“Yes, Carrot Top!” Eli screeched in frustration, knuckles white as they clutched their drumsticks in anger. They took a deep breath, trying to subdue the urge to beat the scared boy in front of her with the sticks.
“Well, which one is it? Stand still or move around?” The boy holding the video camera asked, starting to get a bit frustrated too, but too afraid to show it. It was late at night and he rather be anywhere else, but when Eli Perez tells you to do something, you do it. Or else.
“Obviously move around,” Grizz chimed in, lazing strumming the bass guitar in her hand. “It would be a pretty lame ass video if you just fucking stood there,” she snapped, though not as harshly as her friend.
“R-right,” the boy nodded, looking anywhere but the intense gazes of the people in front of him.
“Hey, Little Ginger,” Mac spoke up as she finished adjusting the setting on the amp. “We’re all set, so hit record and let’s get going.”
“It’s Big Red,” he reminded her, though he could tell none of them could care less. He was about to hit record when he was stopped by another voice.
“Wait! Your brother isn’t back yet,” Grizz reminded Mac. The fourth and newest addition to their group, Benny McDonald, had yet to return from Grizz’s room where he was fetching the girl a new jacket because she simply was “not vibing” with the one she currently had on.
“Oh shit, you’re right. He’s so quiet, I forget sometimes,” Mac admitted, frowning as she glanced to her brother’s empty spot.
Right on cue, the Sophomore boy entered through the door connecting the garage to the house, holding the “more badass” jacket Grizz had requested.
“Sorry,” he huffed, handing the jacket to Grizz before getting into position and strapping on his guitar. “Your closet is like a freakin’ maze.”
“Is that why it took you so long to come out of it?” Eli joked from behind their drums, trying to stifle their laughter as they noticed the burning glare Grizz was sending.
“Haha,” Grizz retorted monotonously before turning to Big Red. “You can record now, Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
Frowning at the nickname, Big Red put aside his frustration and hit record, gesturing for the band to start as he zoomed in on Mac.
“WE ARE BELOW AVERAGE AND WE’RE ABOUT TO FUCK YOU GENTLY WITH A CHAINSAW!!!” Mac screamed at the top of her lungs, Big Red having to fight the urge to take a step back from his close proximity. He switched focus to Eli who had their drumsticks raised in the air, a manic smile on their face as they started the countdown.
“1-2-3-4!”
Tumblr media
“The world is simply not ready for our genius,” Grizz assured her best friend.
Mac stared glumly at her phone as she played the video they’d posted to YouTube last night. Their video barely got any feedback, which she should’ve suspected since their account barely had any subscribers in the first place. She’d hoped they’d gain a bit more of a following after two years, but no dice.
“Maybe we need, like, a manager,” Benny suggested as he walked beside his sister, looking up to see a frown still firmly planted on her face.
“Right, like anyone would want to work with us,” she scoffed, shaking her head at the idea. “Face it, this band is gonna die before it even really started.” Grizz nodded along sadly, once again being reminded that their time as a band drawing to a close.
Benny scoffed, shaking his head at their defeated expressions. “You guys are such pessimists! Come on, I know you both care about this band way too much to give up on it.”
“We’re gonna have to quit by the end of the school year anyway,” Grizz shrugged off Benny’s optimism, continuing to focus on the negative.
“Yeah. You and Eli will have to rock on without us,” Mac nudged her brother with a smirk, getting a weak one in return.
“It won’t be the same, though,” he whined, nudging her back. “Eli’s great, but two people isn’t much of a band.”
“Then you’ll get some new members,” Mac suggested as the trio entered the school.
“Uh, weren’t you the one saying how no one would want to work with us,” he pointed out, making Mac purse her lips before chuckling.
“You got me there. But you’ll be alright. You’re in good, tough hands,” she assured him, referencing Eli as she patted him on the back.
“Where is she, anyway?” Grizz wondered aloud.
Her question was answered by the large bang that sounded from further down the hallway, gaining the attention of the trio and everyone else in the vicinity.
“SAY THAT AGAIN, YOU BEANSTALK LOOKING MOTHERFUCKER!”
“There she is,” Benny quietly muttered out, fear already settling in as he tried to keep up with the other two as they immediately raced to their friend’s aide.
They arrived to see Eli had cornered some guy wearing an East High letterman jacket against the lockers. The guy had to be at least a foot taller, but still looked like he was about to shit his pants as Eli looked seconds away from ripping out his throat.
“What’d you do!” Mac immediately accused him, standing on her toes to get up in his face.
“Guys!” Benny got the others' attention, sparing the frightened boy from their glares. “Can we please not get in trouble on the first day of school?” he begged.
“He told his buddy over there how he thought you’d put out if he got you drunk enough,” Eli whispered to Mac, though Benny and Grizz were close enough to hear. Fury reignited in the group, though none felt it as strong as Benny.
“THE FUCK DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY SISTER?!”
Though still significantly shorter than the guy, and probably not as strong, Benny didn’t hesitate to yank him off the locker and shove him onto the ground, earning shocked gasps from the crowd that gathered. He was too blinded with rage to see the looks of pride, and mild shock, on his sister’s and friends’ faces.
“Hey! Break it up!”
Benny’s foot froze mid-air, about to kick the cowering guy in the ribs, when the principal, followed by the students who snitched on them, arrived at the scene. Everyone, besides the band, the guy laying on the floor, and his buddy, scattered to avoid facing the wrath of Principal Gutierrez.
“I should’ve known it would be you four,” he dryly chuckled, wagging his finger at them. “My office. Now!”
In a symphony of groans and scoffs, the four troublemakers followed the Principal through the halls to his office, the journey being all too familiar to them.
“Sit down,” the man ordered once they made it to his office. Mac and Eli had already sat down before he even told them to, with Benny plopping down on the floor and Grizz sitting on the edge of his desk as there were only two chairs. “You two, just stand,” he instructed the remaining two, annoyance barely contained in his voice.
“Love what you’ve done with the place, sir,” Mac smirked, glancing casually around the room while Grizz and Eli giggled beside her. “Are those new window shades?”
“Enough!” he barked, more than fed up with her attitude. He let out a heavy sigh, rubbing his temples before continuing. “I was hoping you would forego your yearly tradition of causing trouble the first day of school, but it seems I have once again set my expectations too high.”
“Look, can you just give us detention and get this over with?” Grizz questioned, now standing though still leaning on the Principal’s desk much to his chagrin. “If you’re expecting us to apologize to that creep, you can forget about it.” The others nodded along, stubbornly crossing their arms in unison.
“Unfortunately, I think we are well past just detention,” he thought out loud, scratching his chin as he thought.
“Wha- Do you mean…suspension?!” Benny stuttered out, his confident facade crumbling at the thought of facing a more severe punishment.
“No, no,” Gutierrez dismissed. “Something worse. It needs to be something much worse…” he trailed off, still thinking deeply while his students waiting impatiently. “You four may leave…for now. I’ll come up with a more suitable punishment by the end of the day.”
The band, stunned at the man’s words, cautiously made their way out of the office as he waved them away, a hint of a sadistic smirk on his face as he was no doubt planning something horrible.
“What do you think our punishment will be?” Benny asks fearfully, the first of them to speak up as they wandered the hallways.
“I don’t even want to know,” Grizz said with a groan.
“Whatever it is has to be really awful if it’s worse than suspension,” Mac thought aloud. Her attention was brought to her left as she looked down at Eli, her friend letting out small chuckles. “What? What could you possibly be laughing at?”
“I was just thinking about how Benny was totally about to beat that guy's ass for you," she explained, directing her beaming smile toward the blushing boy.
"Aw, you're right! Baby's first fight," Grizz coos, pinching his cheeks and cackling when he swats her hands away.
“You know what this means, right?” Mac asks, addressing the group as she sends her brother a proud smile.
“What?”
“You’re officially a teenage dirtbag, baby.”

“I have the perfect story to help you sleep, okay? Just lie back and close your eyes.” Belle brought a chair to your bedside while you shuffled under the covers, trying to get comfortable.
“Thank you, Belle.” You smiled, shutting your eyes and noticing the sound of pages turning, already putting your mind at ease. She began to read a short story that had brought her comfort in nights like these, and her voice was just so soothing to hear. In no time, you’d drifted off, but she continued on until the end to make sure your dreams would be comforting, too.
“Goodnight, y/n.” She whispered, closing the book gently and blowing out the candle on your nightstand. “Sweet dreams.” Belle tiptoed out the door, leaving with hopes that you’d be well rested in the morning.

Every day, all across the globe, there are people striving for greatness. Wishing and hoping that they’d finally get their chance to be the next big thing. For some, it was nothing more than just wishful thinking. No matter how hard they seemed to try, no matter how hard they prayed or tried manifesting things into existence, they never made it. They’d leave this world exactly how they entered it. Nothing. Nobody.
Diego Molina thought that would be him. Sure, he had the brains and, by his mother’s assurance, had the looks. If only that’s all it took to be successful. But alas, he was just a scrawny nobody from a shitty neighborhood in Queens, New York. Though his parents would always assure him that money wasn’t everything, he saw how hard they worked only to earn so little. He knew that maybe if they’d just had more money, if they didn’t have to struggle to support their three kids, they wouldn’t have had to give up on their dreams. They could’ve been somebodies.
The world wasn’t fair, though. And things don’t always turn out how people want. Diego knew what he wanted, and he knew how ridiculously unrealistic his dreams were. He’d look up at those giant skyscrapers in the heart of the city, the ones with a constant rotation of suit-clad businesspeople going in and out all day, and knew that’s where he wanted to be. Not necessarily a businessman, no. But the type of guy like the ones sitting comfortably on the top floor, able to command a room with just one look. The type of guy nobodies like him aspired to be. A real Tony Stark type of guy.
Dios, that man seemed to have it all. He wasn’t as obsessed with superheroes as his brother was when he was younger, but he had a certain appreciation for Tony Stark. He was surrounded by super-soldiers, trained assassins, and literal gods, and he was able to make himself just as powerful with his big brain. Well, that, and a shit ton of money. A shit ton of money that the Molinas didn’t have.
So, Diego was forced to get his head out of the clouds and concentrate on what he actually could achieve. Things like being a good student and making his parents proud. Though that was kind of hard when he was currently running late.
Both his younger sisters got sick, and with his parents already at work and his older brother catching a ride earlier with his friends, he was the only one around to take care of them. Tori had insisted again and again that she’d be fine, but Minnie, the diva of the family, wasn’t as understanding. She wanted tea, but they were out of the kind she wanted so he had to run to the store. Then she was cold, so he had to keep running around the apartment to find enough blankets to satisfy her. Then she threw up, but she missed the bucket and Diego was forced to clean it up seeing as her body hurt too much to do it herself, or so she said. So, yeah, not a great start to the day.
And unbeknownst to him, it was about to get worse.
With his legs burning, and his lungs struggling to suck in enough air, he ran down the stairs to the subway, quickly trying to swipe his card but getting frustrated when it wouldn’t work. Letting out an aggravated groan, he swiped the card slower, letting out a relieved sigh as it worked and let him through.
Distracted from his small victory with the turnstile, Diego accidentally bumped into someone, wincing in pain as the person was a lot bigger than he was. He turned around to apologize, but the person didn’t even spare him a glance, quickly fleeing with his hood obscuring his features. Shrugging it off, Diego continued on his way, miraculously making it to the platform just before the doors started to close. He stuck his hand in to stop the door from closing, letting out a deep breath as he stepped on the train and plopped down on a seat. He was very aware that he was wheezing slightly and was getting strange glances from the people around him, but no one seemed overly concerned, even when he struggled to find his inhaler.
He found it just as his breathing started to get worse, taking a large puff before slumping in his seat in relief. He glanced at his phone, grimacing as he noticed he’d likely be 10 or so minutes late.
His attention was pulled away from his phone when the lights suddenly started flickering before shutting off completely. Many others looked around, some voicing their confusion, but Diego’s attention was brought elsewhere.
In the back of the subway car, a glowing purple light emitted from under the seats; pulsing and glowing brighter by the second. His first instinct was to run away from the strange glow to the other side of the car, but he hesitated when he noticed two kids, probably no older than 10, sitting very close to the mysterious object, completely oblivious to it.
“Hey! Get away from there!” he called out to them, gaining their attention. They stared at him, confused as to what he meant when one of them finally noticed the purple glow, frantically pointing it out to their friend. They both shot up from their seats but were frozen in place, staring at the object rather than moving away from it. Diego could see they weren’t moving, and he noticed the pulsing glow was getting brighter and quicker.
“Hey,” he ran up to them, snapping them out of their daze as they looked up at him, fear evident in their eyes, “Get back, it could be dangerous.” They nodded, allowing him to push them in the opposite direction as they huddled in the back with the rest of the passengers who’d noticed the glow as well. Diego was just about to join them when the object suddenly released a high pitch noise, forcing him to double over and to cover his ears due to his close proximity. His senses were further impaired when the glow got too bright too fast, forcing him to clamp his eyes shut.
He didn’t even have time to do anything. He didn’t have time to blindly stumble away from the mysterious object, he didn’t have time to warn the others. It all just happened so quickly.
The object, apparently a bomb of sorts, detonated and everything around him turned to chaos.
He couldn’t even hear the screams from the other passengers as the train derailed, leaving a large gaping hole where the bomb had been. All he heard was ringing in his ears as the blast knocked him backward, making his head collide with metal. All he felt was a burning, searing pain coursing through him as shrapnel littered his body, a particularly large piece deeply embedded into his chest. And all he could see was- well, nothing. The ringing died down, the pain faded away…
…and everything went black.

Jada Starr
Tumblr media
gif credit: @pochunts
Fandoms: High School Musical
Face claim: Coco Jones
Nicknames: Jay, Jade
Age: 17 - 18
Birthday: October 26, 1989
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Straight, Questioning
Occupation: Student, Model
Friends: Ryan Evans, Sharpay Evans
Family: Miranda Starr (mother), Jaylen Starr (father; deceased)
Intro: Since the day she was born, Jada has never had a normal life. Literally, from the minute she opened her eyes, not even conscious of her surrounding yet, and had cameras shoved into her face. Jay has always been a star, whether she wanted to be or not. But, when your mom is a world famous supermodel, and your late father was a famous football player in the NFL, being a star is kind of expected.
From a young age, she’s had greatness thrust upon her. Before she even fully understood the world she was being forced into, Jay was on the covers of magazines, starring in commercials, and on celebrity talk shows, being interviewed by the likes of Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey. It was exhausting, having your whole life being broadcasted for the world. Her first steps, first words, first time trying sushi, all of it!
Do you know how traumatizing it is to be 7 years old and have Perez Hilton slam your red carpet look on his gossip blog? No? Well, Jay did. She remembered actually being excited for that red carpet because her mother had allowed her to dress herself. For the first time in her young life, she’d gotten to wear what she wanted to, not what anyone else wanted. But then people like Perez ruined that and she was right back to having every single outfit picked out by a professional stylist.
The only part of her life she had managed to take control of was her education. She begged and pleaded with her mom to let her have some semblance of a normal life, and her reward for all her groveling was being able to attend East High in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her mother allowed Jada to stay in her father’s old home in Albuquerque during the school year, thus allowing her a few months of freedom every year.
When you’re surrounded by people who desperately want to be in the spotlight, it’s hard to know who actually wants to be your friend and who’s just using you. The only other people in her school who seemed to relate were Ryan and Sharpay Evans. Though sometimes they could be a bit too manipulative and ambitious for her taste (particularly Sharpay), Jada found herself being more comfortable around them than anyone else at school
Quotes:
“You don’t own me, Mother. I’m my own person.”
“Tell Ellen I said she can fuck off. Wait- Don’t actually tell her I said that!”
“There’s no point in thinking about my future. It’s all planned out for me anyway.”

Victoria Molina
Tumblr media
gif credit: @gifsociety
Fandom:  MCU (Captain America: Civil War - Spiderman: No Way Home)
Face claim: Jenna Ortega
Nicknames: Tori, Tony Stark 2.0, Vicky (she’ll hate you tho), Teen Genius
Age: 14 - 18 (Blipped)
Birthday: September 17, 2001
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Straight, Bi-curious
Occupation: Student, “Sidekick”
Affiliation: Academic Decathlon Team, Robotics Club
Abilities: Genius intellect; engineering, robotics; light hand-to-hand combat
Friends: Michelle Jones, Ned Leeds & Peter Parker (acquaintances), Flash Thompson (frenemy)
Family: Héctor (father), Maia Molina (mother), Jesús “Zeus” Molina (older brother), Diego Molina (older brother), Minerva “Minnie” Molina (twin sister), Elena Rivera (maternal aunt, deceased)
Intro:  Turns out that her brother nearly dying in an explosion was the best thing that ever happened to Victoria Molina. What should have killed him, miraculously ended up giving him superpowers. Of course, he was completely hopeless on his own. Diego said he only confided in her about his superpowers because she was the only one he trusted, but she knew the truth. If he had any chance of being a successful superhero, he needed her help.
Thanks to her, her brother’s superhero persona Hercules went viral all over the internet. Queens loved him, all of New York loved him, the whole damn world loved him! Tori, though? She much rather stay in her place behind the scenes, never wanting fame for herself. She was the brains of their whole operation and that was enough for her.
That’s where she and her brother differed. Diego had always dreamed of greatness, of being able to get anything with a snap of his fingers, of being the next Tony Stark. Tori rather be more like the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, operating in the background but just as intelligent, maybe even more so, than the superheroes in the spotlight. It’s why she got along so well with fellow wallflower, Michelle Jones. Though MJ would say she didn’t really have any friends (probably to seem cool and mysterious), she secretly enjoyed Tori’s company and even sometimes looked forward to when they’d silently sit beside each other again.
Similar to Diego before his sudden personality change, Tori was constantly overlooked. Despite clearly being the smartest of her siblings, she just didn’t stand out as much as them. Her twin Minerva may not have been as smart, but she was far more ambitious than Tori and got a lot more attention because of it. While Minnie’s side of their room was lined with academic trophies and ribbons, Tori kept her side of the room fairly plain, except for the ridiculous amount of computer junk cluttering every available surface. Even her oldest brother, who was probably the dumbest person she’d ever met, got more attention than her, being a big wrestling star that everyone adored. She may not have wanted to be in the spotlight, but she can’t help but feel a little jealous of her siblings. She didn’t need the whole world to have its eyes on her, but it would be nice if her parents paid her attention every now and then.
Quotes:
“It’s such a burden to constantly be the smartest person in the room.”
“You’d be dead by now if it weren’t for me. And do I get so much as a thanks? Nope.”
“The sexual tension between you and Spider-Man is out of this world. I kinda ship it, to be honest.”

Diego Molina
Tumblr media
gif credit: @sunlethrps
Fandom: MCU (Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man: No Way Home)
Alias: Hercules
Face claim: Xolo Maridueña
Nicknames: Hot Shot, Wonder Boy, Hunk-ules, The Savior of Queens
Age: 15 - 19 (Blipped)
Birthday: December 2, 2000
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Bisexual
Occupation: Student, Superhero
Affiliation: Avengers (briefly), Academic Decathlon Team (formerly)
Abilities: Superhuman strength, speed, durability, agility, stamina, reflexes, and healing; expert combatant, swordsman; flight (via super-suit); high intellect
Friends: Flash Thompson, Peter Parker (frenemy/rival), Ned Leeds & Michelle Jones (acquaintances)
Family:  Héctor Molina (father), Maia Molina (mother), Jesús “Zeus” Molina (older brother), Victoria “Tori Molina (younger sister, sidekick), Minerva “Minnie” Molina (younger sister), Elena Rivera (maternal aunt, deceased missing)
Intro: Turns out that nearly dying in an explosion was the best thing that ever happened to Diego Molina. Freshman year, during his commute to school, the subway was derailed by a huge bomb explosion. He was lucky enough to not die, but he was close. When rescue teams checked for survivors, he was found with shrapnel sticking out of his chest, his life hanging on by a thread. He was close enough to the blast that an actual piece of the bomb had struck him and knocked him unconscious. He was in a month-long coma following the explosion, and he woke to find everyone treating him like a miracle. Apparently, pieces of the metal had broken off and entered his bloodstream, and given the unknown origins of the metal, doctors weren’t sure he’d make it.
The following week was a blur. He was instructed to take time off and rest, but surprisingly he felt fine. Better than fine, he felt fucking amazing. As the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with him, he was let go and allowed to return to school. He thought everything would go back to normal, as in he would go back to being just a nobody like before. What he didn’t expect was all the attention that would be on him. He was the talk of Midtown School of Science and Technology. Everyone thought it was so cool how he survived a bomb made from elements not found on Earth, and suddenly it felt like he went from being a nobody, to being the most popular guy at school. He now had friends, people were actually inviting him to parties, and he even got a few flirty DMs on Instagram from people who’d never spoken to him before. He thought his life couldn’t get any better.
But then it did! Whatever strange metal was pumping through his blood didn’t just not kill him, it gave him freakin’ superpowers! He was never a very athletic person, but he was suddenly able to do things he’d never been able to before. He didn’t get winded from exercises in gym class, he could run faster than anybody in his class, and he could lift weights that he’d only ever heard were possible for super soldiers.
Obviously, he had to monopolize on his newfound abilities. His sister Victoria was the only one he trusted with the exciting information, and together they created Hercules, his superhero persona. Using their combined genius intellect (though it was mostly Tori) and engineering skills, they created a super-suit that would allow him to safely and efficiently kick bad guy ass. After a couple of crime busts and viral training, recorded by Tori, Hercules quickly became a YouTube sensation. He was Queen’s mysterious new savior, and it seemed like everyone loved him!
Until fucking Spider-Man showed up. Before the explosion, he’d never been a particularly jealous person. He was used to being in his older brother Jesus’ shadow, the athletic golden child of the family, and even being overshadowed by his youngest sister Minnie, who was a math and science prodigy that everyone went nuts over. But now, he absolutely refused to be overshadowed by Spider-Man, who was quickly rising to YouTube fame as well. He didn’t care that Queens now had two crime fighters, meaning the borough should be twice as protected. He only cared that he now had to share the spotlight.
He’s desperate to be #1 again, and he’d go to great lengths to get there. Watch out, Spider-Man! You’ve just made a powerful new enemy.
Quotes:
“Get lost, Bug-Boy! I can handle this myself!”
“Tell anyone and I’ll deny it, but you’re a fucking genius, sis.”
“Not that it’s a contest or anything, but I’m totally stronger than you.”

Age: 17 (Apocalypse) - 26 (Dark Phoenix)
Nicknames: Izzy, Dora
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Bisexual
Occupation: Student
Species: Human Mutant

From convincing another kid to give her the toy she wanted, to convincing her teachers into giving her the grade she wants but doesn’t deserve, Izzy could sweet-talk just about anyone. And it only got worse when her powers came.
Annoyingly, the only ones who seemed to be resistant to her charms were the Professor, and her best friend Jean. The mind of a telepath was tricky, and not one easy to manipulate. Of course, that didn’t stop the girl from manipulating people the traditional way. You know that saying “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer”? Yeah, Izzy lives by that. She actually couldn’t stand Jean, or the Professor, but she was smart enough to know that having the trust of two powerful telepaths was better than making enemies out of them. If she wanted to remain the Top Bitch at that school, she couldn’t have any pesky little mind readers digging around in her brain. If they found out just how much she manipulates people's emotions on a daily basis, she’d be kicked out so fast her head would spin.
Despite the fact that she can literally feel people’s emotions, she has a hard time genuinely connecting with people. Her ability to sense emotions, unfortunately, didn’t come with an instruction manual on how to handle them. Like, okay, say her friend is sad. What the hell is she supposed to do? What’s the point in comforting them when she could just make it so they’re not sad anymore? Safe to say, not a lot of people go to Izzy for emotional support.
Quotes:
“I’m saying this because I care about you. Get a grip!”
“Can you stop being so depressed? You’re giving me a headache.”
“I’m so used to other people’s, sometimes I forget about my own.”

Destiny Stewart

gif credit: @blondewhoregifs
Fandom: Outer Banks
Face claim: Dara Renee
Nicknames: Dez, Princess
Age: 16
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Bisexual
Occupation: Student, Photographer
Friends: Sarah Cameron, Topper Thornton, Kelce, Kiara “Kie” Carrera (formerly), Pope Heyward (acquaintance; crush), John B. Routledge (acquaintance), JJ Maybank (acquaintance)
Intro: “That’s Destiny, or Dez. I’m not super close to her, but she apparently used to be best friends with Kie. Now Kie pretty much hates her along with Sarah Cameron. I get it, she does act like a spoiled rich girl 90% of the time. She does throw killer parties, though. ” - John B. Routledge.
If Sarah Cameron was the Kook Princess, then Destiny Stewart was, like, the Kook Duchess or something. The two girls could always be seen together, going off on little adventures and stirring up trouble wherever they went. Out of the two, Destiny was definitely the one who bought into the whole “Kook vs. Pogue” agenda. She didn’t go as extreme as some of her other Kook friends, like Topper and Kelce, and nowhere near as bad as Rafe Cameron, but she still acts like she’s better than them all.
There’s always this air of superiority surrounding Destiny. The money, the status, the designer clothes, she had it all and saw no reason not to flaunt it. Material things were like drugs to her, she could never get enough of them. Like somehow there’s a limit she hasn’t reached yet, and if she were to just buy a few more things, maybe the void inside her would finally be filled. Some might call her a shopaholic, but that’s what happens when you have an unlimited credit card and no parental supervision.
Destiny’s parents were almost never around, usually on long business trips for months before briefly returning home for only a few weeks. Dez takes advantage of her parents’ absence, throwing some of the best parties the teens of the island have ever been to. But when the drunken bodies stumble out the door at the end of the night, leaving behind discarded red plastic cups and trash cans full of puke as proof they were even there, Destiny begins to feel the crushing weight of loneliness. Of course, being a Kook and living in Figure Eight meant her house was huge by most people’s standards. Way too huge for just herself. She always felt trapped by the pristine walls, cleaned by a maid her parents hired year-round. Because if they were going to leave their only daughter by herself for the better part of a year, they’d at least have the decency to make sure the house is clean.
Destiny usually avoided the Pogues whenever she could, usually not straying on their side of the island unless absolutely necessary. And Boneyard parties? Absolutely necessary. They were one of the few times either side of the island were even remotely civil with one another. It’s at one of these parties where Destiny’s not-so-little crush on Pope began. Normally, she wouldn’t engage with a Pogue unless they happened to be offering her weed or beer. But something about the brainiac drew Dez in. And before she knew it, she was falling for him. Hard.
Quotes:
“It has officially been 69 days since my parents flew off to Italy or something. I think that deserves a celebration!”
“The scent of you poor is actually nauseating.”
“It’s just a stupid crush, it’ll go away. Right?”

Benjamin McDonald

gif credit: @steinfeldofrphgifs
Fandom: High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
Face claim: Dylan Sprayberry
Nicknames: Benny, Ben, Mini Mac, Sparky
Birthday: July 5, 2004
Age: 15
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Straight
Occupation: Lead Guitarist, Singer, Student
Friends: Griselda Lee, Eliana Perez
Family: Robin McDonald (sister)
Intro:  A year ago, if you’d told Benny that he’d be joining an all-girl rock band with his older sister and her misfit friends, he’d think you were nuts. He wasn’t the type of guy to join a band, or do anything that involved social interaction really. In fact, all his classmates just assumed he was mute since they’ve never heard him say a word. But joining the band had been the best decision of his life. Well, his sister Mac kind of forced him, but still. Last year, he was running from the bullies who thought it was fun to mess with the weird quiet kid. Now, he was playing loud and angry music for the whole world to hear. Well, at least for the 100 followers on the band’s YouTube page.
Before, his confidence was at an all-time low. Someone could shove him into a locker or knock the lunch tray out of his hands and he’d just move on, accepting it as his normal routine. And it stayed that way for months, until one day after getting a particularly nasty black eye he showed up at school to see his tormentor with a broken nose, tear-stained face, and a car in desperate need of repairs. With the gossip circulating the school, it didn’t take him long to figure out it was Mac and her best friends Grizz and Eli. After that day, the three became like his 24/7 security detail, threatening or beating up anyone who even looked at him funny. He actually had people to sit with at lunch, even though it was under the bleachers where the older teens liked to smoke. He no longer feared going to school every day.
After just a few months of being in the band, he definitely noticed a change. He didn’t stutter when talking to strangers, he started dressing differently, he could actually look people in the eyes and hold conversations (sometimes). It was like the moment he picked up that electric guitar, he felt a surge of confidence run through him that he’s never had before. The Benny from before he joined Below Average wouldn’t even recognize the person he’s become, and he loved it. Not only were he and his sister closer than they’ve been in years, but for the first time ever he had something he was passionate about.
Quotes:
“Did you see that?! I just talked to that girl and didn’t burst into tears!”
“Hey! Leave her alone or I’ll- uh…get Grizz to smash your headlights or something.”
“Mac, can you tell them to stop treating me like a puppy? The treats are nice, but it’s really insulting.”

Griselda Lee

gif credit: @hqroleplaygifs
Fandom: High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
Face claim: Tati Gabrielle
Nicknames: Grizz, Rich Bitch
Birthday: August 8, 2002
Age: 17
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Queer
Occupation: Bass Guitarist, Singer, Student
Friends: Robin McDonald, Eliana Perez, Benjamin McDonald
Intro:  Long before her best friend Robin “Mac” McDonald got dumped and completely changed her personality, Grizz was the original rebellious family disappointment. Being the youngest of four siblings, she always felt an insane amount of pressure to be just as perfect and successful as them. Her powerful and wealthy parents had curated a specific image for their children that Grizz fit into well, but she started to feel trapped and bored. So, she traded in her violin for a bass guitar and threw away her hours of classical training to completely immerse herself in the world of rock music. Her parents’ hopes that it was just a passing phase diminished more and more each day they bared witness to their daughter’s change. They made their disappointment painfully obvious, often choosing to act like she didn’t exist in an attempt to distance her from the rest of the “perfect” family.
After being regarded as the bad influence in their friendship for so long, Grizz welcomed Mac’s personality change with open arms. Usually, Grizz was the one getting Mac into trouble with her antics, but now it was a team effort. Together the badass duo caused problems left and right, becoming a thorn in the side of all students and teachers at East High. And just when those around them thought they couldn’t get any worse, Eliana Perez entered the picture. They met Eli when all three of them landed their asses in detention the first week back at school. It didn’t seem possible, but Eli was even more chaotic and destructive than Grizz and Mac combined, and even shared a love for rock n roll like the two older girls. It had felt like fate brought them together, like they finally found the missing puzzle piece they’d been searching for. Grizz’s dreams of starting an all-girl rock band finally came true, the other two thinking it was a great idea as well. And so, Below Average was born.
The band didn’t stay all-girl, though. During her and Mac’s Junior year, Eli’s Sophomore year, Mac’s Freshman little brother Benny ended up joining and replacing Mac on lead guitar. Grizz didn’t have anything against the shy boy, especially since she’s known him just as long as she’s known Mac and even considered him as a little brother, so she welcomed him even if it meant the band wouldn’t be all about girl power anymore. As soon as Mac told her and Eli that Benny was being bullied, Grizz hunted down the asshole who did it and slashed their tires. Her course of vengeance was a little more subtle than Mac who verbally assaulted the jerk in front of the whole school, and definitely more subtle than Eli who’d decided to straight up punch the guy in the face.
Quotes:
“You’re lucky that I’m gracing you with my ideas.”
“I don’t think I’m better than all of you. I know I’m better than all of you.”
“My family pretty much disowned me years ago. You guys are all I have.”
