I'm relatively new to writing fic versus original work so I don't know the etiquette, but I also admit that I've never seen a sex scene in fic not intended to be read for horny purposes. Labelling everything as "smut" just because it's got sex in it feels kinda puritanical in a way, and I do think there are reasons to write sex scenes other than to get yourself/the reader off. So like what's the distinction? Is there one?

It's always wild to remember that being bilingual isn't the standard in English-speaking countries. Like most Americans think being bilingual is some sort of Identity TM when it's just a thing you do in many other countries. English is a mandatory subject in Sweden, along with math and Swedish itself. You literally don't get to graduate high school unless you pass English class. My college degree has an English requirement because all of the course literature and half the courses are in English.

my biggest pet peeve wiht the english language is that you don’t have sin/sina

in swedish if u have two people who use the same pronoun u can always tell whos doing what bc its like ‘han tog sin väska’ (he took his[own] bag) and ‘han tog hans väska’ would be that he took the other persons bag

but in english its like if u have 2 ppl w/ the same pronoun:

“she took her bag” whose bag????WHose BAG was it her OWN bag or the other her’s bag??????????????

“he ate his donuts” were the donuts his own???? did he fucking eat someone elses donuts??? YIU DONT KNOW bc english is a bullshit language

watcher situation was so bad that people with no stakes in this even saw that the paywall was a bad idea. it wasn't just "entitled fans" who were saying "hey don't do that", it was people from the outside, some of them with business experience!!

Yeah! And I get the instinct to defend your faves against "drama vultures" but when it's both the majority of fandom and outsiders? Idk. I feel like even if you don't agree, you should at least understand where people are coming from instead of moralizing at those who dared to call out your faves on objectively dumb things.

Honestly I have seen more posts of people going "ugh the Watcher fandom are so toxic and cruel and don't deserve those good good boys" than I have seen actual toxic comments. Like are those ungrateful Watcher fans in the room with us right now 😔 Shall I get out my ouija board and attempt to make contact?

Anyway. Yeah there will be assholes in every fandom but acting like people getting upset was irrational is just silly. Like nobody's stopping you from paying them $6, hun. You can just go do that. Good for you on having money you can spend. Not all of us are that lucky.
