cute lil study tip

i think your main goal for making a study plan, or any kind of productivity plan really, should be “how much can i do to be proud of myself”. that’s all. don’t stop until you’re proud of yourself.

i practiced math for only about an hour today. i was in a shit mood. that was all i could do today. i could do math for 3-4 hours on my better days, but today wasn’t one of them, and that’s okay. but i am proud that i did an hour of math, despite feeling really fucking down. i didn’t abandon my studies, i still made that tiny bit of progress that i’m sure is gonna pay off later. 

you don’t need an 8-hour study plan, you need a plan that is considerate and in touch with your mental state and the capability of it at this moment. i may need to push and try not to give up until i feel content with the day’s progress, cause i definitely don’t wanna feel like a total failure when i’m trying to sleep at night.

March 5th, 2020

Long time no see! Life's been crazy — I travelled to the UK all by myself and stayed with my girlfriend for a week, and now there's less than two weeks left until my next test week. Together with an extra theatre production on the side it's pretty busy sometimes. On the upside, I believe I'm starting to figure out that I actually want to pursue Medicine! My biology teacher gave me the study materials used for the entrance exam to the course from this year, and it's pretty darn interesting. Sad that the Doctor Who series had ended, though.

Today was better — I actually did something and felt at least a bit productive. I'm slowly trying to get back on track, hoping I can manage to do so completely before the holidays start.

Everyone always talks about March madness, but damn. Deadlines December can be a real witch with a b too.

Ah yes, I'm back. I guess I've established I'm not great as keeping up with something, as shown by the gaps between my posts.

I've not been very productive, to be honest. I've been procrastinating A LOT — I've made very little homework this weekend (though, for the record, I spent a lot of time with family for Sinterklaas and my late grandpa's birthday), and I feel really bad about it. On the other hand, I've finished my Medicine webclass and I enjoyed it very much. Hopefully I can power through until the Christmas holidays, wish me luck!

day 004/100 of the productivity challenge 💫

Midterms week is over, but because most of my assignments were online I didn’t study a whole lot on paper. This is a photo of some homework that I did Monday. I got one of my grades back already, and I did so much better than expected! Guess my studying all autumn break really paid off.

Today I went to the open day of the university of Utrecht (in the Netherlands). I listened to talks about “English language and culture” and “history”. I’m in college studying to be an English teacher rn, but I don’t want to finish this study. So my goal is to pass first year and go to uni! Recently I’ve rediscovered my passion for history and I realised I really want to study it. So you’ll probably find me at the university of Amsterdam next year

Day 2/100 days of productivity

Spent majority of the day making notes for my 'cultural diversity, linguistic plurality and literary traditions in India' class. I was able to squeeze in time to study a couple of maths topics before going to bed.

The fact that I knew I was being productive kept me in a good mood throughout the day and helped maintain a positive headspace.

november 20th, 2019 | day 5/100

it's been a wild month my dudes. test week, test week results (i'm pretty happy, especially with my grade for chem!) and lots of trying to find out who i am. i'm currently taking a medicine web class (kudos to one of the unis here offering free web classes that give an insight to how that course is at uni) and it's very interesting. doing lots of extra things on the side and i feel like i'm always in a hurry to get something done. the holidays can't come soon enough.

I needed a chill day yesterday. School was stressful and everything seemed to be working against me, so I just took some time for myself. But my test week starts tomorrow, with English and social studies, so I studied for those today. Wish me luck!
