“Good,” Lizzie stated when the girl decided not to argue with her any further. She felt a little guilty when it was clear that she’d caught the girl off guard and perhaps made her a little uncomfortable, that wasn’t her intention, she just had a tendency to be quite forward. “So you bake?” she asked, looking down at the boxes, “see that automatically makes you interesting because I am crap in the kitchen.”

Isabelle usually wasn’t much of a talker, but when it came to baking, she could happily talk about it for as long as there was a willing set of ears. She smiled instantly and nodded. “I bake, professionally,” she admitted. “Well, I’m not a chef or anything, but I run a bakery back in Seattle. And I’m sure you’re not as bad as you think you are – everyone can cook at least something.”

You’re not bothering me.” Emma was being honest, mainly because well she really had nothing pressing to worry about right now and there would be absolutely no harm in helping out the seemingly nice woman. “I was just curious, because the truth is–I know of a lot of people that would definitely run away with a box of cupcakes.”

Isabelle chuckled. “Well, I hope you’re not the type to run away with them, even though it would be good for you and whoever you ended up sharing them with in the long run,” she hummed, still feeling every so slightly uneasy about the woman’s reaction in the first place. “I would very much appreciate if you didn’t run away with them, though. That wouldn’t be so good for me.”

“Okay, you’re officially going in circles.” The blonde muttered to herself, she didn’t know where she was, or how she was going to get herself back to her hotel at this point so standing staring at street signs seemed like the best bet at this point. “Magnolia, you can do th…oh hi.” Magnolia beamed as she  looked back to the other woman, a warm smile appearing on her face. “I mean I have no muscle tone but sure, I can hold them here.” She offered out her hands for her to place the boxes on top, it wasn’t like she was going anywhere else. “Take your time honestly.” 

Isabelle had only managed to catch the last few words of whatever the woman had been saying to herself when she approached, and she made a mental note to ask her if she needed anything as soon as she had her keys in hand. She smiled sweetly as she handed her some of them. “I think you’ll be all right, they’re really not that heavy,” she assured her before grabbing her keys. “Are you all right, by the way? You seem a little... flustered, if you don’t mind me saying.”

Lizzie shook her head at the other girl, “I insist, this is far too much to carry, plus you won’t be able to open your trunk when you get there.” She really hoped that the girl would agree to her help because it seemed foolish for her to struggle on her own. “Plus it’s slightly selfish because you are insanely pretty and you have a crazy amount of cupcakes so I need to find out more about you.”

There were a few moments of hesitation before Isabelle resisted. “Well, if you insist, I suppose there isn’t much I can do about that,” she gave a small laugh. Her next words took Isabelle off guard, though, and she instantly raised an eyebrow. “Oh– well, that’s uh.. nice, I suppose. Thank you. But I’m really not that interesting. I’m just taste testing them to try and perfect my new recipe. Figured I should get some from here and see how I can improve.”

out for a walk, to get fresh air, she had her hands in the pockets of her denim shorts and she was taking in the scenery of the town. she thought the area was quite cute and was glad to have chosen her as her vacation time. she just hoped her family wouldn’t find her here, a reason why she avoided posting her location. when somebody began talking, alexa turned to them before tilting her head. she wasn’t surprised when the other needed help and gave a nod before saying, “it’s not a bother at all. i wasn’t doing anything important anyway.” she then took a box away from her. “hope you don’t mind me asking, but why so many boxes in the first place?”

For some reason, Isabelle couldn’t help but feel a little sad for the woman upon her words that she ‘wasn’t doing anything important’. She was like that, though – too empathetic when she didn’t need to be, and she pushed the feeling down, instead focusing on her taking the box of cupcakes. “Oh, I’m just taste testing. They’re cupcakes in that one, and then baking ingredients in these.” She held up the bags. “I’m trying to make my cupcakes better.”

Lizzie smiled as the pretty girl walked up to her holding many different things. She was struggling and Lizzie was about to offer help before the girl beat her to it. “Of course,” she said, holding out her arms to take some of the things. “Where’s your car? I can help drop these off.” Lizzie did like to help people but she had to admit that she was also swayed by the girl’s smile.

“Oh! That’s really not necessary, it’s not too far away,” Isabelle chuckled and shook her head. The kindness of some people really surprised her sometimes, and most of the time she wasn’t really that good at accepting it. “It’s just a little further down the block, not too far. I’ll be able to manage.”

Emma was never the most approachable person, so when someone saw her on the streets and came up to her, she was surprised but also curious to know why this individual had chosen her as opposed to some of the others who seemed to be wandering around. Still, she turned and listened to her words and figured there would be no real harm in helping her out and so she took the box in one hand and offered her other hand for a shopping bag. “I mean you could’ve set the bags down on that bench, but yeah I don’t mind.” She gave her what she hoped was a casual smile because really she didn’t mind the favour asked of her too much, it just surprised her how trusting people were still in a small town like this.

The tiniest flash of worry flickered through her mind at the woman’s suggestion that she could have set the stuff down on a bench. She chuckled softly. “Yeah, yeah, suppose I could have done that– actually, I can take them back and just do that if you’d like. I really don’t want to bother you.”

dinah tugged at a wayward hair from her ponytail spiraling with tales of wailing children and fourteen hour shifts. she squinted her eyes daring to see if at twenty-five she’d finally become a shriveled old maid and gray hairs had sprouted in place of her youth. a sigh of relief found her as only inky black hair washed over her finger. she gave a tired smile to the woman, wordlessly taking the package. “don’t worry, it’s not a big deal.”

Isabelle gave her as confident a smile as she could muster as she fished for her keys. “Thank you, really. You have no idea how much you’ve helped.” She paused for a moment. “Is there anything I can do for you in return?” Even though Isabelle probably knew she should drop it and just grab the box again and go to her car, her instincts of wanting to please everyone kicked in, and she had noticed that the girl didn’t seem as peppy as some others in town had today.

milo was walking around holiday, phone in hand, playing wizards unite. it was a good way for him to get exercise, he thought, and also, he just really loved harry potter. he’d just stopped at a spot when a woman approached him, carrying multiple bags and cupcakes. “sure,” he said, taking the box of cupcakes from her. he also took another bag from her arms. “don’t worry about it. go ahead, i’ll wait here.”

Honestly, part of Isabelle was pretty sure that they were going to say no. She’d already rehearsed what she was going to say if they did, so it took her a little by surprise when he said yes. Before she knew it, he was holding the box and one of the bags and she let out a sigh of relief. “You are an absolute life saver,” she hummed, now able to grab her keys out of the pocket of her jeans. “Did you want a cupcake? There are plenty in the box there. It’s the least I can do.”

It had taken a few moments for Isabelle to talk herself into going up to the person standing not too far away from her. Her car was parked a little further down the street, yet her hands were full of a box of cupcakes as well as three heavy shopping bags full of baking ingredients. Smiling, she spoke. “I’m so sorry to bother you, but would you mind holding one of these for just a second? I just need to grab my keys and I’m worried if I try while holding these that something will end up ruined. It’ll only be a moment and I’ll be out of your hair before you know it.”

here we have my third and final character. (if i say that, i’ll stick to it... we hope). but yes, hello, it’s lily and here is my softest, sweetest most gentle little bean and cupcake lover, isabelle. 

so isabelle was born in seattle, washington on january 29th 1990. 

she was an only child and still is and she’s always loved the solitude that came with that. she’s never really had to learn to deal with siblings so she thinks that’s kind of the reason why she’s a bit more quiet and withdrawn than other people her age.

when she was a teenager, she got really into baking and it helped that her mom used to bake all the time, too, so she always gave isabelle tips. they used to come to holiday every few years for a bit of a break from the business of seattle but this time she’s come back on her own!

she owns her own bakery in seattle that she puts her heart and soul into and she’s currently been in holiday for the past six months to both boost her creative baking spirit and also to just chill because the busy city is a lot for her to handle sometimes. 

she’s kind of quiet sometimes and she doesn’t like to get into confrontation with anyone and if anything of that sort happens she’ll literally try and avoid it in any possible way.

basically, the softest, sweetest bean who just needs a lotta love because she gets kind of lonely sometimes.
