cherik prompt (based on my headcanon):

Charles' love language is physical touch.

The problem is: Erik isn't used to being touched in a good way. Since he met Shaw, every lingering touch on his skin brought him only pain.

So everytime that Charles tries to hug him or squeeze gently his shoulders or press their arms togethers when they're close enough or even barely touch his hand, Erik can't help but flinch or jerk away.

Charles thinks this is Erik rejecting him.

Erik doesn't understand why one day Charles just stops touching him. He wonders what he did wrong this time.

Or: how to love someone who has forgotten how it feels to be loved?

(sometimes you just want to be hold, even if your own body refuses it)

Edit: And I find really important to say that in this case Erik wants to be touched, just doesn't know how to react to it! Sometimes we don't want to be touched, even by our loved ones, and that's ok!
