Wow, if I had a nickel for every time a white boy with daddy issues went down to Austin and hooked up with the love of his life, a Latino who's grappling with living up to his parent's legacy, in a shitty bar, only to end up fleeing and ghosting him because oh no he caught ✨️feelings✨️, I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it is weird that it happend twice, right?
the ONLY bright side to Sweden winning this year is potentially getting Måns and Petra back as hosts. They're the only ones this decade that understood the assignment
Damn the balant racism the 911 Lone Star fandom shows by depicting Alex, a Black man, as a rapist and an abuser is sickening. Literally all we know about Alex is that a) TK was very in love and felt ready to marry him and b) he cheated on TK (body language also indicated that he felt very guilty about it). TK wouldn't have proposed to Alex, and Owen wouldn't have supported it, if Alex had been any form of abusive. Stop making the Black man an abuser for the white man hurt/comfort, your racism is showing.
Lightyear was a super cute movie and I liked it more than I thought but come ON not them retconning the iconic "No Buzz, I am your father"!!!!!! That shit knocked seven year old me on my ASS!!!!!!! I'm ignoring the old Buzz canon 😌
I always think it’s super interesting how everyone, even Obi-Wan now, sees Anakin and Vader as the same person, but Vader still never says anything along the lines of ”I was Anakin”. When he talks about it, he always says something along the lines of “I killed Anakin, he no longer exists”. Makes me curious if the Force sees them as the same person, since really balance isn’t restored until Anakin is resurrected
(Also, side note: Hayden absolutely killed it. I could feel his resentment, melancholy and anger through the screen. That scene will forever live in my head rent free)
I already talked about this a little but I wanna talk more about the conversation between TK and Carlos. It was written in an amazing fashion that was true to both characters.
Carlos is the type of person that wants to help and be in control. He wants nothing more than for TK to be happy and sober. He loves TK, and absolutely wants the best for him. He also wants to be his number one confidant. It is going to be a journey for Carlos to realise that wanting what is best for TK and always being his number one confidant cannot coexist. Carlos isn’t an addict. He doesn’t know what it is like to face that every day. Cooper does, and as TK’s sponsor, part of his role is to be TK’s confidant when it comes to his addiction. If Carlos wants to continue his relationship with TK, he really has to do more reading about an AA sponsor and learn why TK can’t always turn to him first. An artist may have some electrical background, but cannot fix your breaker box with the expertise of a certified electrician.
Now, that’s not to say TK should always go to Cooper first. An AA sponsor is not a therapist or counsellor. In their relationship, TK will have to continue to be open and honest about how he’s feeling and clue Carlos in on those bad days. He shouldn’t bury the bad parts, because it is true, Carlos signed up for the whole package. However, he is absolutely making the right choice in having a sponsor and setting the boundary with Carlos in which there are situations where he will need Cooper’s help more than Carlos’s. It’s also good for their relationship, as it would definitely strain their relationship if Carlos was TK’s sole confidant.
They both have a lot of learning to do, but I’m really glad to see 911 LS explore what it is to be in a relationship with someone struggling with addiction. I was also very pleased they didn’t go the whole ‘oh-he-has-feelings-for-you’ thing, as there would be nothing less realistic than a sponsor falling for their sponsee. Sponsors are there to support the sponsee in a way their family and friends can’t. I’m really hoping 911 LS has more scenes with Cooper and Carlos where Carlos continues to understand his role in TK’s life.
Y’all don’t realise that TK is saying exactly what he needs to in this conversation. Carlos is a great boyfriend, and will support TK until the end, but he isn’t equipped to be a sponsor. He doesn’t know what it means to be an addict. TK isn’t trying to hurt Carlos by confiding in Cooper, but TK needs a sponsor just as much as he needs Carlos right now. For both their sakes, its best for the two to remain separate
Still a little miffed about the fact Plagg and Adrien are treated as the dumbest characters in this show when it comes to Shadowmoth's identity... like, the peacock miraculous and the book were right in front of Plagg, and he just doesn't know what they are, even though he's one of the most powerful kwamis? Félix notices before Adrien that Gabriel always wears the butterfly and peacock miraculous? Like I get that Marinette is the protagonist and the show would essentially be over if Adrien figured it out but... Damn
