With the fact that Twitter may be potentially imploding soon, it may be time to Restart amd Rebrand here on Tumblr (aka make a new account because my dash is way too cluttered.)
Listen I don’t know much about how the Emmy people decide who wins and stuff. but. the idea of thousands of hardboiled tv professionals or whatever solemnly sitting down and watching ISWM is absolutely SENDING me
morally grey/evil scientist characters are always like biochemical engineers or nuclear physicists or whatever but the people want VARIETY give me a story about a fucked up geologist for once
I don’t know how to explain to some discourse damaged people on the unholy trinity of social-media-websites-whose-names-start-with-a-T that romantic subplots in non romance media are not put there with the sole purpose of giving the audience the warm fuzzies; that, like any other element in a story, a romantic subplot should serve the themes and central thesis statement of its larger narrative; and that sometimes the most adequate choice of a pairing or approach to romance for a given story is not necessarily the one you personally think would be the cutest / healthiest / most progressive
Popular people are not automatically your friends. don't speak to them like they are. As someone who has a good number of popular/high follower online friends, overfamiliar friendliness sets all of them off. They hate it. Think before you make that comment or send that ask/DM. In my own experience, I hate it too.
On that note, the notice me senpai behavior is weird too please stop
Don't dump without permission first. This means don't vent/rant @ someone (esp ppl you don't know) without checking if they're able or willing to hear it.
On that note, don't self deprecate on someone's posts, especially on art. Like literally who wants to spend hours on a piece just for a stranger to comment "man I wish my art could be like this mine is trash"
Don't beg for follow backs. Please.
Parasocial relationships DO NOT equal actual friendships. Just because a famous or popular person talks a lot doesn't mean you know them or they even care about you. Whatever you know is revealed explicitly on their terms. Don't demand more info or engagement than you deserve.
back when the pewdiepie controversies were going on, i often saw people saying "who's pewdiepie" and i always thought that was weird bc who the fuck doesn't know who pewdiepie is. you have to be aware of his existence, not even by watching his content, just by being on the internet, he was famous as shit. but now i get it. i have no idea who or what dream is and i want to keep it that way
what people think is hard about writing: describing the joy, love, beauty, grief, loss and hope that form the richness of human experience
what is actually hard about writing: describing basic actions such as turning, leaning over, reclining, gesturing, saying something in a quiet voice, breathing, getting up from chairs, and walking across rooms
