hi i found your account literally today and it is scary how much the way we draw ourselves is similar. i have funky little drawings of myself dating back to 2018 and nearly every iteration you’ve drawn of yourself has also been stylistically and design-wise similar. i don’t have the same skill level as you, but it’s seriously kinda freaky how similar they are. i think we may be clones..?

oho holy shit!! to be fair tho if your irl character design throughout the years has basically just been "lil guy with round glasses" you're bound to look like someone else eventually. (i would love to see your funky drawings of yourself sometime if you don't mind showing them!!)

sorry to bring in my not-#relatable comic business on here but yeah. if you're unaware anon is talking about this video i made two years ago based on a story i've been working on (read: daydreaming about) for a few years, nang mainlove ako sa isang sakristan i mean ang jowa kong crosswise linggu-linggo! it's about a closeted sacristan and his aswang boyfriend (the komik community understands the strikethroughs now), except he is also fake dating his catgirl best friend. who is aswang boyf's cousin. yeah.

the characters are near and dear to my heart but i'm putting it aside for now for a number of reasons, namely

it is a long-ass story, and i am just a little creature who only has the spoons to play games on discord and go ooga booga

it's not obvious because i fixate on the cutesy slice-of-life aspect of the story, but filipino mythology™ plays a heavy role in the story and i don't yet have the energy to do the research to treat the mythological creatures of different ph regions with the respect they deserve

i'd already committed to publishing a different comic when i joined last year's komiket university - which i've also slacked on, see ooga booga above - so you'll see that for a few years before this comes out, probably.

yes artists should avoid undercharging and underselling themselves! yes make sure you're compensated for all your hard work! but also!! remember that artists tend to only ever exist on either extreme of the rosenberg scale so that, coupled with growing up poor/cheap, makes it really hard to believe people will actually pay the equivalent of a week's worth of groceries (or more idk) (go OFF, y'all!!) for a drawing

btw this isn't an announcement that i'm opening commissions, i'm still finishing some long-overdue ones and trying to undo the effects of my art hiatus oof
