What I think ppl encouraging you to support Tumblr financially get wrong is the idea that there is an amount of money you could give them that would stop them from implementing changes inspired by other social media sites, stop them from selling your data, stop them from running fucked up ads, etc. There isn't. The logic of capitalism is ever expanding, there is no such thing as enough, and making sure the people who keep up the back end of Tumblr get paid will never be enough. There are shareholders and investors to satisfy, and they will be a constant push towards additional monetization. Giving another user crabs will not save you
