it's always so fascinating and heartbreaking when a character in a story is simultaneously idolized and abused. a chosen prophet destined for martyrdom. a child prodigy forced to grow up too fast. a powerful warrior raised as nothing but a weapon. there's just something so uniquely messed up about singing someone's praises whilst destroying them.

Thinking about how much Tenko valued his companionship with Mon-Chan, that he still references it to this day as Tomura.

I think during the times where he was alone in his room at the bar, not with AFO or Kurogiri, that companionship is something he deeply missed and something he tried to ignore, because that need is too human to him. Something that once you have it, is so, so painful to lose.

That’s another reason I think Tomura was so quick to warm up to the other members in the league, because he craved that companionship again and he could mask it as “just business” so he doesn’t have to admit to himself that he actually cares about them— which is blatantly shown in him keeping their ideals and wants in mind.

Underneath all the trauma, pain, anger, and hate there is heart that is begging to be acknowledged.
