Tumgik
Prompt 183
“You’re not real,” the hero whispered. Their hands caressed the outline of a face that wasn’t really there. That couldn’t be there. “You’re not real.” Their voice cracked.
Their lips brushed. Tentative. Desperate. Fully armed with the knowledge that it had to be some sort of delusion. “You’re not real,” they murmured again, eyes closed, against the lips of a ghost.
The ghost, eyes closed, murmured back. “I am.”

Honestly the pipeline of “reading the-modern-typewriter snippets at midnight on the floor of my bathroom at age eleven so I wouldn’t get caught” to “being a tumblr writer myself” is a wild one.

“I’m twenty-two.”
“You’re half my age.”

“He’s not going to answer.”
“I said-”
“He’s! Not! Going! To! Answer! There’s no point me trying! You might as well shoot me now.”

Prompt 180
“No. No, no, nononono. You can’t just leave. You can’t just go like this,” a sob lodged itself in their throat. “I- you- no. Don’t die here, not now, not for me.”
The other smiled and it broke them all the more. “There are worse things to die for.”

Prompt 179
“Why is it always an either-or with you? I’m not your enemy! But I can’t be your friend either. I just- I can’t. Not after…” they shook their head quickly. Memories be gone. “Not after that. I can see that it’s different now. I can see we don’t have to be enemies anymore. So live your life! Live it the way you want to. And let me live mine.”
