Tumblr Migration 2: Reddit Boogaloo
We all know about the Twitter immigrants, but there seems to be radio silence on what's happening now with Reddit users from certain subreddits doing a similar thing.
What's happening?
Reddit is restricting their API later this month and killing off third-party apps. An AMA (Ask Me Anything) with the CEO Steve Hoffman was held and it was clear that he would continue with the changes.
In protest, thousands of subreddits across the site are planning to go dark for 48 hours on June 12th. Some are planning to continue indefinitely until the changes are reversed.
Okay, so how does this affect Tumblr?
Some subreddits (mainly queer and left-leaning meme ones, don't worry too much about Reddit Atheists™ overrunning us) are encouraging their users to jump ship to our beloved - and beloathed - hellsite. There will be another influx of new users and many will be unfamiliar with how the site works.
What do us Tumblr users do?
Show them how to use the site; introduce them to the site's culture, tell them to reblog shit and curate their dashboard. Sorta like how we welcomed Twitter users back when they flocked here. Kungpowpenising optional.
I'm new from Reddit, what do I do here?
CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE AND BANNER TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN DEFAULT BECAUSE THIS SITE IS FILLED WITH BOTS AND YOU MIGHT BE MISTAKEN FOR ONE. This is the FIRST thing you should do after getting a blog.
Other folks can help you with stuff like curating your dashboard or creating sideblogs (or you can look shit up) but please, PLEASE just give yourself an icon and reblog some stuff so people don't mistake you for a bot

Also thinking about giving König some love with a 5 and 1, probably with Reader teasing him and then him getting rewarded.
I've been into CoD for a while now and am so happy it's getting the love it deserves right now! Figured it was about time I do some writing for it, just dunno where I wanna start!
Gonna hopefully get to all of these eventually tho, just wanna see what people are craving.
Ghost x F!Reader: Reader is a sniper and gets assigned Ghost as backup on a quick assassination mission, in and out. Unfortunately the target takes longer than expected to show up, shenanigans ensue in the meantime. NSFT
Gaz x F!Reader: Reader is a spy whose current duties come to align with those of 141 with them both after a specific target who will be attending a prestigious event. Reader is tasked with trying to get information from him before executing if necessary. While most of the task force will be on site ready for shit to go down if it does, someone needs to be in the event as back up with how many threats there are present and Gaz gets volunteered for the role. Turns out being stuck in a suit isn't so bad if he gets to stare at Reader in that dress all night. SFT, will have a NSFT sequel.
Also wanna do something with Valeria, but I'm not entirely sure on a plot yet.

Who's the one to initiate the relationship?
Honestly it just kind of... happens. Things calm down between them, they realize that they both have a lot more in common than was first realized, both in terms of likes, dislikes, and trauma, even if the causes may differ. They move very slowly from indifference to a tentative friendship to a very awkward something more and then very firmly set as girlfriends. It takes them a while to get there, but now neither of them are going anywhere.
What are their love-languages?
Both greatly enjoy simply spending time together and physical touch, though not out of the blue. At least not at first anyhow. Anita comes to learn the quiet, barely there footsteps that precede a chin resting on her shoulder as she drinks her morning coffee and scrolls through the news. The Void comes to recognize Anita’s presence as one of comfort and safety and Renee gets a preemptive and comfortable warmth almost just before a strong arm wraps around her waist.
How open about it are they?
Not at all, but they aren’t jumping over hurdles to hide it. There’s no public affection whatsoever (the sole exception being extremely bad days where one with brush the back of their hand against the other’s in their own little language just to say ‘I’m here’), and they certainly don’t tell anyone about it. Both like their privacy, and Renee does admittedly worry about Anita being used against her in a worst case sort of scenario. However, if someone does figure it out and denying it doesn’t work, they more or less let it be with just the request that whoever doesn’t spread the news.
Who's the better chef?
Anita is by miles. She grew up with it honestly. It's nothing gourmet or really even anything exceptional, and she doesn't know how to make a ton, but she's learning and what she does make always comes out tasting good. Renee on the other hand has more or less been living off of takeout and frozen dinners.
Who likes to be little spoon?
Depends on the day, but they both like to be held and it usually changes through the night. Renee will press up against her back when Anita's anxieties have been really strong that day only for them to switch places when Renee wakes up from a nightmare and vice versa.
Who flirts more?
Believe it or not, Renee does. Anita makes pretty little comments here or there out of earshot of the others or in the relative comfort of one of their apartments, but Renee is the one who gets a little more raunchy with it all. Once she's comfortable around someone, she can really be a teasing little brat and especially loves to get reactions out of Anita. She'll occasionally even do it during the games or events outside of matches when it's just the two of them to rile Anita up a little, who always manages to collect when they're home again.
Who's more protective?
They're pretty evenly matched here too. Anita is protective of her and tries to keep anyone from messing with her. That being said she doesn't pity her either. They have practically their own language together though and Renee gets to decide what battles Anita takes in that regard. Likewise, Renee is also very protective but tries her best not to be clingy. She always worries that one day someone will come for her and just see Anita as leverage. Neither want to be separated by this point.

You’ve been waiting all afternoon for the arrival of a very important ship. You’ve been waiting all week, in fact.

You had watched the airships docking and leaving and ports all afternoon as the shimmering sunset cast Piltover in deep shadows and an orange glow, the warmth sinking into your face as you sat perched on the windowsill of your apartment.
Below, Piltovians were heading out for dinner, an excited bustling on the streets as lights started blinking on. With the window cracked open, allowing the cool air access to your living room, you could hear the gentle strumming of a guitar somewhere close by; a soothing melody that tickled your memory, though no matter how your strained your ear, you couldn’t place it.
You hummed it to yourself to see if it would spark anything to help you remember, tapping the tempo out with your nail against your glazed coffee mug. Your eyes were drawn upwards as another airship arrived through the hexgates, and your heart lurched instinctively.
You didn’t know how, but you could tell that this ship was carrying your precious cargo. It took everything in you not to jump up, throw on your coat and dash up to the academy, thus you were relegated to sliding off the sill and checking on the dinner you had left in the oven to keep it warm.

To any fic writers who worry they are wasting their time… I read a fic for a relatively small and inactive fandom about three years ago. And there was one specific scene where a character watched another dancing like an idiot to a beyonce song and it was so sweet and loving that even now years later I have that song on one of my spotify playlist so every once in a while it will play and remind me of that fic, and every time it does I smile and feel a little happier.
The stats on a fic will never really tell you if your writing touched someone. There’s no numerical way to show you what impact you made. Maybe you are wasting time, or maybe you are writing something that someone will remember for a long time, something that will never fail to make them smile.
