So, last night I decided to confront Deej about what she said, so I put on my (hella cool) new dance outfit and marched right into her bunk to ask her what was up.
And. . . Um. . .Turns out, the stuff she said was not an insult. Quite the opposite, actually. She liked my tight outfit. Really liked it.
Anyway, I would like to formally apologize to DG-2024, who tripped over the pile of blue spandex in the floor on his way to bed.
And to the rest of Deej's bunkmates: It was really sweet of you all to personally high-five me on my way out in the morning. You guys are the best.

Asked Deej if she liked how my new dance clothes looked.
She said they'd look good on the floor next to her bunk.
That sounds like. . . an insult? Does she hate them? Should I get a different color? I thought she liked blue!

My Scout Troopers got their Arts & Culture badges today by helping me pick out some sweet clothes to dance in for my audition.
It's basically a stretchy, skin-tight outfit like the body glove I wear under my armor, but instead of black, it's blindingly neon blue.
The Scouts said it would make me stand out.
They're right. I look amazing. I am going to nail this audition.

You should check the audition info posted in the break room and see what instructions are there! At the audition, you’ll probably fill out a questionnaire about what characters you’re trying out for and your previous performance experience. Usually you want to pick a song from a musical rather than a pop song…but thanks to the Max Rebo jukebox musical that came out a while back, Lapti Nek actually counts as a theatre song now. Besides dancing, you’ll also be given scenes from the show to act out with other people at the audition. A few days after the audition, some people go to callbacks, which is when the director calls certain people back to do more singing and line-reading for a second look. And ST-3V3…I’m pretty sure you’ll get in. Community theatre NEVER gets enough guys to audition. If you’re halfway decent, you’ll get in, bro. Even if it’s just an ensemble role.
That sounds like. . . a lot. But I'll give it a shot. Why not?
Deej can probably teach me a few dance moves. And maybe the Captain can give me some pointers for the singing bit. And I am a dude, so I guess I have that going for me.
Maybe I'll be a star and get real famous and everone will finally treat me with the respect I deserve.
Or maybe I'll just have an activity that allows me to not wear armor for a few nights a week.
Either way is good.

I've just discovered I don't really know how to audition for a musical.
Like, I've seen a few. I know they involve singing and dancing. But do I just pick any song to audition with? Does Mitaka really want to hear my cover of Lapti Nek?
And dancing in armor is hard. Am I supposed to buy new clothes? Am I allowed to do that? I should probably check the employee handbook.
Normally, I'd ask Mitaka for help, but that feels like cheating.

And you’re gonna audition for the musical, right? Eh? Ehh?
I dunno. Maybe?
I can be a pretty convincing liar, which is what acting basically is, but I don't know if I'd be any good at singing or dancing.
But who knows? Maybe I could get cast if loads of other people are worse than me. And if I do, maybe I can use rehearsals as an excuse to get time off work.

Mitaka has informed me that he has, indeed, finished writing his musical. He told me to let everyone know that he'll be posting audition information in the break room.
Good luck or break an arm or whatever I'm supposed to say.

Mitaka doesn't hang out in my shop as much these days. That must mean he's nearly done writing his musical.
I'm going to miss having him around. He was starting to get really good with the power tools. Never met a man before who could tune a circular saw.
Now, every time I cut a new wall panel, it plays a perfect G#.

Okay, @lidrens , but imagine how hilarious it would be if other people made normal-looking buildings that could travel in space.
I'd get one. I'd turn it into a hotel. A fancy one. On a reeeeeeal nice planet somewhere.
Then, one night when my hotel is full of rich, unsuspecting travelers, I'd wait until everyone was asleep and launch my hotel-ship into hyperspace.
The next morning, when everyone woke up and realized they were on a strange planet lightyears from home, I'd charge them hella credits to take them home.
Ugh. Climbing stairs all day (since Deej took my code cylinders for the lifts) suuuuuuuuuucks.
Why are there so. Many. LEVELS‽
If I get to influence the design the next First Order ship, I will eliminate multiple levels altogether. Just one big, flat ship where no one has to climb.
That would leave me with the new problem of getting from one end to the other quickly, but that's an issue for Future!ST-3V3.

Convinced Hux to let me book a trip to Batuu.
Told him I'd heard there was a faction of stormtroopers in Blackspire Outpost still so loyal to the First Order that they had a guy who dressed up as Kylo Ren come out to intimidate the locals a few times a day.
He said that he, as the current Supreme Leader, should be the first to visit, but I insisted a small, discreet scouting party should go. For his own safety, of course.
As the mostest loyalist member of the First Order, I would be honored to lead that party. Though Deej should also come, since she's a combat trooper and I'd obviously need a bodyguard.
I'd also need some credits for lodging, food, and anything else I may need to blend in. Obviously.
And he actually approved the trip! Even had the Finance Department get me a First Order credit card!
Still not sure if he's really that excited to find more loyal First Order remnants, or just wants to get me out of his hair for a week.
Either way, I'm getting a proper vacation soon!

Solved the problem of how to get from one side of a looooong ship to the other: A small cart pulled by a team of mouse droids.
Sure, I could just have a normal hovercraft to drive me around, but you know my motto: When facing a problem, always look for the solution that allows you to add more droids.

Deej was stoked when I told her I was ready to start an exercise routine. She goes to the ship's gym every day, so I asked if I could tag along and do her routine with her.
"Absolutely not," she said.
"Why not?"
"Because my routine will literally kill you. We should start small at first. To build up your endurance."
Then she proceeded to take all my code cylinders that control the lifts.
Guess I'll be taking the stairs for a while.

Back from medbay. It's not ghosts.
Doc said my joints are creaky because I haven't been taking care of my body like I should. He prescribed exercise. Ugh.
To be fair, though, I wasn't actually planning for old age. Before we split from the Final Order and stopped fighting as much as we used to, the average stormtrooper wasn't expected to reach middle age.
But now that the First Order is using diplomacy and education instead of combat to take over the galaxy, some of us are actually having to learn to take care of our bodies.
In short, now I have to do maintenance on myself.
I do not think I have a manual for that.

Sometimes being human can really suck.
For example, when a droid's joints start to creak, you just give them a bit of oil and they're good as new.
When my joints start to creak, I have to make an appointment in medbay to find out if I have arthritis, if I'm calcium deficient, or if my bones are haunted.
I hope it's ghosts. At least those don't require medication and/or accepting the fact that my aging body will only continue to deteriorate as time marches cruelly onward.
But not Ben Solo. A different ghost. He can stay the hell away from my fragile kneecaps.

Try asking Mitaka for help! He's really good with all that music writing stuff. He can make anything sound good.
Trust me. He just finished another number for his tech crew musical: It's a rock number about proper tool safety, and it honestly slaps.
Maybe if you're real nice, he'll even give one of your kitties a walk-on role!
I have this incredibly catchy song in my head, but I’m not even mad. It is the definition of pure euphoria. It is… Interplanet Janet.
That one is a bop!
Someone should rewrite the lyrics so the song names actual planets in our star system. That way, it could be both fun and educational!
