fr. In this scene he does a light spell (literally most basic spell) and flashes some colors and they act like it’s a wonderful and cool thing despite his claims that they actively found sus and weird. If it was just a light show i may get it (even if its incredibly basic baby class stuff) but it’s a random guy preaching values they are implied to not have in the first place and claiming to speak to the titan then doing basic magic. Why do they react well to this. Idfk

And a villain being bad/punished because he follows the in universe incorrect spiritual belief still isn’t good? Belos blaming his failures on the isles can be easily read as him wanting to blame a higher evil or just another person for his short comings. A very consistent part of his characterization. While I can’t say where the show is headed and wouldn’t be surprised if the isles were actually conscious in someway due to how common that trope is? I don’t think it’s a good idea. Nor interesting. I still stick with Be Ye A Crab Maiden Lady on this one. Not to mention the idea of the Titan being conscious was literally created by Belos to colonize in the first place as shown in this scene

And is still an idea that I find ridiculous, esp in the context of the characters. Belos getting punished for not being religious or spiritual in the ‘correct’ way isn’t a route I enjoy at all

Considering bug demons all communicate in this way, Belos probably has broken into dance while making speeches/preaching. Or at the very least hired an interpreter.
Belos: “The Titan had condemned this Wild witch to petrification. Let this serve as a reminder. The only way to save our bodies and souls from eternal damnation is to honor what The Titan has given us blah blah blah..”
Meanwhile the interpreter is busting a move. Sashaying around Belos, Twerking, Fork in the garbage disposal, even breakdancing at one point. And these are all thing Belos had to do himself in the early days of his crusades. …Imagine him threatening some bug demon lord but he’s just aggressively dancing while glaring at them because they don’t speak English

"tbh we might have clowned on [aros & aces] a lil too harshly" bigotry. the term you're looking for is bigotry. denying communities their vocabulary and ability to safely exist because you think you're the personal arbiter of which identities are "valid" is bigotry. minimizing and infantilizing and harassing entire groups of people based on their orientation is bigotry. aphobia isn't some forgettable phase of being cringe as a teenager, it's bigotry that inflicted long term damage to these communities.

i love thinking about hunter's staff as a disability aid ESPECIALLY because of the context it adds to hunting palismen it's . so funny. oh my goD hunter can't catch a single break in the enTIRE EP fuckin IMAGINE you're just. trying to do your evil job of being evil evilly in peace and then some random annoying 14-year-old anarchist shithead who shouldn't even BE there grabs your cane HURLS it INTO THE ABYSS crashes your ship KNOCKS YOU UNCONSCIOUS smacks you awake FINDS your cane STEALS your cane makes you CHASE HER THROUGH ALLEYS TO GET IT BACK makes FUN OF YOU for struggling without your cane briefly tries to MURDER you WITH your cane then after all of this she just gives it back to you cuz you're accidentally buddies and you're like "are you sure. cause like i'll take it i mean i still gotta do my evil job but you're REALLY gonna wish i was WAY more disabled in 10 minutes" lo and behold she should not have been sure. THEN you end up letting her go anyway and failing to do your job because you're having really weird feelings about the whole thing and also about how nice she is and also about how you feel kinda bad for being evil for some reason. this girl stole your disability aid and tried to murder you like 7 times.
