I’ve already decided my Team although I’m just on EP 2. Y'all, where my TEAM YUZU at?!

I watched this anime, because I’m suckers and my thirst for Romance or Shoujo Anime is for real.

Why am I even boarding to this team? Well, it’s not because Yuzu is some kind bishie (well, a little factor, very little fufu.) I love how he’s a little bit shorter to Nino, like? It’s a new dynamic! And I like how he made Nino sing once again with his self-composed song and comforting her about her cries to Momo. He also called Nino as Alice, I’M SCREAMING.

I still don’t know who Momo was, but maybe y'all say I’m gonna change my mind but hell no. I’m on Team Yuzu and will ship Yuzu x Nino for eternity. Author of this story might condemn me with the Momo x Nino, but y'all I’m with Yuzu.

Maybe it’s because I can relate to Yuzu as well. But his story is different than mine, so he still have a chance to steal Nino. (Go for it my boi.) I feel like Nino would probably end up to Momo, but knows there might be some kind of plot twist.

If Nino ends up with Momo, I’m so done.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one who likes FFXV and loves the majority of the characters. 

But I don’t ship any of the chocobros with each other? 

Don’t get me wrong I love their brotherly love, but whenever I see them being shipped romantically I kind of cringe. (Doesn’t mean you’re wrong for shipping it, this is just my opinion.) 

Instead I ship other things like:

Noctis x Luna 

Prompto x Cindy 

And just recently Ignis x Aranea. 

I can’t be the only one though. If anyone likes these ships hit me up and we can discuss? Or if you post about them let me know so I can follow you?

Just do whatever. But I’d like to have more stuff for these ships around me.

[FFXV] Ravus & Luna key scenes: Japanese Translation Pt. 2

Part 1 where I translated Ravus & Luna’s conversation in Altissia can be accessed here. My translation of Noctis & Luna’s farewell can be accessed here. Disclaimer: These translations and any interpretations made are entirely my own. —————————————————————————————————- Ravus & Luna in Tenebrae: sylleblossom field Ravus:  ルナフレーナ、もう諦めろ。ノクティスは王にはなれない。 Runafurena, mou akiramero. Nokutisu wa ou ni wa narenai. “Cease this at once, Lunafreya. Noctis cannot become king.”

Luna: どうして、そんなことを言うのです？他に道などありません。 Doushite, sonna koto wo iu no desu? Hoka ni michi nado arimasen. “How can you say such a thing? There is no other way.” Ravus: これ以上はおまえが命を落とすぞ！ Kore ijou wa omae ga inochi wo otosuzo! “At this rate you will die!” Luna:   分かってます！後悔は。。。ないんです。 ただ、すぐ近くで声を聞きたかった。昔みたいに笑って、その手に触れて。。。 Wakattemasu! Koukai wa…nain desu. Tada, sugu chikaku de koe wo kikitakatta. Mukashi mitai ni waratte, sono te ni furete… “I know! I…have no regrets. Only, I wish that I could hear his voice right by his side. To laugh as we did long ago, to feel his touch once more…” Noctis:  ルーナ？ なんだよ。。。やっぱ辛かった���かよ。 聞いてやれなくて、ゴメン。 Runa? Nandayo…Yappa tsurakatta no kayo. Kiite yarenakute, gomen. “Luna?  What is this…It really was painful, wasn’t it?  I’m sorry that I couldn’t be there for you.” Translation Notes: 1. “Sugu chikaku de” (すぐ近くで) can be translated more literally as “right nearby.” I feel that the use of “sugu,” which can also mean “immediately, directly, without difficulty” has a slightly stronger meaning in Japanese that can only be conveyed as “by his side” in English - the Japanese really emphasises the closeness. It’s a little hard to explain but hopefully those of you who know Japanese know what I’m trying to get at! 2. “Sono te ni furete” (その手に触れて) means “to be touched by that/his hand.” I’ve tried to make my translation of this line a little more poetic, but regardless, I think this line is really significant given what was shown in the secret ending. Luna’s wish was granted and I think this line makes the secret ending all the more emotional and bittersweet. 3. Noctis’ line after seeing Luna’s spirit “Nandayo…Yappa tsurakatta no kayo” ( なんだよ。。。やっぱ辛かったのかよ) is full of so many meanings that are quite difficult to capture in English. First off, the way Noctis speaks in Japanese is quite gruff & far less formal in comparison to Luna. When he says “Nandayo,” this can also be translated as “What the hell?” and it captures Noctis’ frustration towards himself quite clearly. Next, “yappa” is a shortened form of “yappari” (やっぱり) and means “As expected/I knew it.” Noctis’ use of this phrase seems to suggest that he knew Luna was suffering more than she may have let on, which would explain the preceding line that showed his frustration. 4. “Kiite yarenakute, gomen” (聞いてやれなくて、ゴメン) is also a difficult line to translate. In a more literal sense, it can mean something along the lines of “I’m sorry for not being able to listen to your troubles,” the “troubles” being implied. Because the Japanese language tends to omit the main subject of a sentence, it’s difficult to determine what exactly is being referred to so “troubles” seems the most likely referent. Overall, the essence of this line is that Luna was probably struggling with many things that she either hinted at or omitted all together during her exchanges with Noctis and he is upset that he wasn’t able to be there to support her when she needed it most. 5. “…gomen” (”I’m sorry”). The choice of script for Noctis’ apology in Japanese is quite imporant. Hiragana is the basic alphabet and is what would normally be used to write this apology (ごめん). However, another script known as katakana has been used instead to emphasise Noctis’ emotions (ゴメン) much in the same way as we would use bold, italics and/or capital letters in languages that use the alphabet.

[FFXV] Noctis & Luna Key Scenes: Japanese Translation Pt. 2

The English dialogue for the scene were we first see a young Noctis and Luna interacting with the notebook captures the original Japanese quite well. The only major difference, I felt, was that Luna’s shyness and hesitation was much more apparent. The English dub seemed to convey these emotions more through Luna’s voice while the Japanese did so through both the quality of her voice & how she chose to express herself. While her shyness/humbleness could be heard, I felt that Luna’s lines in English also made her seem just a little bit more assertive. Disclaimer: These translations and any interpretations made are entirely my own. —————————————————————————————————- Noctis: 花だ。 Hana da. “A flower.” Luna: この間かんむりを作ったお花です。 Kono aida kanmuri wo tsukutta ohana desu. “It’s the flower that we used to make our crowns the other day.” Noctis: うん、覚えてる。ジールの花。 Un, oboeteru. Jiiru no hana. “Yeah, I remember. Sylleblossoms.” Luna: あの。。。 Ano… “Um…” Noctis: うん。 Un. “Yeah?” Luna: お帰りになるとき、この手帳もお持ちになってもらえませんか？ Okaeri ni naru toki, kono techou mo omochi ni natte moraemasen ka? “When you return home, could you please also take this notebook with you?” Noctis: うん。 Un. “Sure.” Luna: そして、よかったらノクティス様にも何か貼ってほしいのです。 Soshite, yokattara Nokutisu-sama ni mo nanika hatte hoshii no desu. “And if you don’t mind, I’d like you to put something in it as well.” Translation Notes:  1. “…kono techou mo omochi ni natte moraemasen ka?” ( この手帳もお持ちになってもらえませんか?) - this is completely conjecture on my part but Luna’s mention of “mo,” which means “also,” to me seems to suggest that Noctis may have been given more than just the notebook as a memento (from who, we cannot say). This isn’t particularly surprising in some ways since we know that Noctis did spend quite some time in Tenebrae before it was invaded by Niflheim. Either way, I think it’s a nice little touch that allows fans to create headcanons about Noctis and Luna’s interactions as children and the gifts they may have given to each other. 2. “…nanika hatte hoshii no desu.” (…何か貼ってほしいのです。) - the verb “haru” (貼る) literally means “to stick, paste, glue,” which would explain the numerous stickers that we have seen in the lover’s notebook. For translation purposes, I chose to use “put in” instead.

[FFXV] Noctis & Luna key scenes: Japanese Translation Pt. 1

After finishing the game in English, I’ve started re-playing it in Japanese and noticed a few differences in the nuances of what was said in some key scenes involving Noctis & Luna that some fans might be interested in. It is not my intention to suggest that the original Japanese is better than the English, I quite love what they’ve done in the English dub, but to rather provide more information about the characters’ interactions in addition to what we already know.  For example, in Japanese Luna always speaks, even to Noctis, using formal Japanese known as keigo (敬語). There are many different levels of formal Japanese and Luna uses the most respectful forms when speaking to Noctis. The only exception is when she speaks with Leviathan, where she uses much more commanding and somewhat rougher Japanese. I’ve only chosen 1 major scene for this post but do intend to make future posts about other scenes as well. Also, there are quite a few spoilers so read at your own risk! Disclaimer: These translations and any interpretations made are entirely my own.  *Update*: translations for Luna & Ravus’ scenes, which also include Noctis to some extent, can be accessed here.  —————————————————————————————————- Luna’s Farewell Luna:　ノクティス様。              Nokutisu-sama.              “Noctis.” Noctis: ルーナ？              Runa?              “Luna?” Luna: ここにいらしたんですね。            Koko ni irashitan desu ne            “It seems that you have made it here.” Noctis: うん、ルーナも。              Un, Runa mo.              “Yeah, you too.” Luna: もう一度お会いできるだなんて、思ってもみませんでした。            Mouichido oai dekiru da nante, omottemo mimasendeshita.            “I did not think that I would be able to see you once more.” Noctis: え？どうして？              E? Doushite?              “What? Why not?” Luna: 私はもう、神凪の主命を終えたから。            Watashi wa mou, kannagi no shuumei wo oeta kara.            “Because I have fulfilled my duty as Oracle.” Noctis: 終わっても、一緒にいられるでしょう？             Owattemo, isshoni irareru deshou?             “Even so, we can still be together, can’t we?” Luna: 神々はノクティス様の力を認めました。そして、指輪もあなたの手に           戻ります。           皆さんのところへ戻られたら、テネブラエをお尋ねください。たくさん           のお花がノクティス様を出迎えしますから。           Kamigami wa Nokutisu-sama no chikara wo mitomemashita. Soshite,           yubiwa mo anata no te ni modorimasu.            Minasan no tokoro he modoraretara, Teneburae wo otazune kudasai.           Takusan no ohana ga Nokutisu-sama wo demukaeshimasu kara.           “The gods have acknowledged your strength, Noctis, and soon, the ring           shall be returned to you.           When you are back with the others, please visit Tenebrae - you will be           greeted by many flowers.”           Noctis: ルーナは？              Runa wa?              “And you?” Luna: あなたが会いに来てくださったこと、私はそれだけで充分です。            Anata ga ai ni kite kudasatta koto, watashi wa sore dake de juubun            desu.             “Your coming to see me is more than enough.” Noctis:  なんで。。。僕は死んでもルーナを助けたかったのに。。。              Nande…Boku wa shindemo Runa wo tasuketakatta no ni…              “Why…Even if it meant dying, all I wanted was to save you…” Luna: もし心細くなってしまったら、私を思い出してください。これからは            少しだけ離れた場所からあなたのことをお守りします。            さようなら、ノクティス様。            Moshi kokorobosoku natte shimattara, watashi wo omoidashite kudasai.            Korekara wa sukoshi dake hanareta basho kara anata no koto wo            omamori shimasu.            Sayounara, Nokutisu-sama.            “If you find yourself feeling lost and alone, please remember me.            Although it may be from a place a little further away from here, I            will continue to watch over you.            Farewell, dear Noctis.” Translation Notes: 1. Luna always attaches the honorific “sama” (様) to Noctis’ name, which in this context can be translated as “Prince.” For translation purposes, however, I have left this out. Rather than just being a means of showing her respect for Noctis as a fellow royal, Luna’s use of honorifics mostly reflects her upbringing as a Princess of Tenebrae. 2. When using pronouns to refer to Noctis, Luna uses “anata” (あなた／貴方). While it can be used to mean “you” in a general sense, there are many more connotations attached to it. For example, this pronoun can be used romantically to mean either “dear” or “darling,” which is fitting in this case as it reflects how much Luna cares for Noctis. 3. In the line where Luna states that she will continue to watch over Noctis, she uses the verb “omamori shimasu” (お守りします), which can be translated more directly as “protect.” I didn’t feel that “protect” would sound as poetic so for translation purposes, I have used “watch over” instead. 4. “Kokorobosoku” (心細く) in the last few lines was especially difficult to translate as it can mean both “lonely” and “lost” among other meanings. I think the official English translation for this section was done incredibly well as it unpacked all of the different meanings that the original Japanese word captured.

Day 7 - Favourite Gaming Couple

Ugh, why are they so damn perfect for each other? Even after all the evil stuff Jin did in Tekken 6, Xiaoyu is one of the only characters to still believe in him and want to help him! I mean It’s obvious that Xiaoyu is in love with him, and I think Jin secretly likes her too, I just wish the creators would just hurry up and make it canon already after all these teaser scenes :’(

One thing I have to say is that a Noctluna daughter that gets Noct’s looks would have Luna’s fashion aesthetic I don’t make the rules I just relay them.

. Conversely another daughter with Luna’s looks would have Noct’s aesthetic.
