I decided to try to make my own 30 Day Challenge for WoW since the questions for the only one that I could find didn’t really give a lot of room for edits or gifs.  Plus it’ll give me a chance to actually show you guys what I enjoy about the game rather than randomly making obscure edits and gifsets while sneaking in posts about my characters every so often.

New York’s Gowanus Canal is notoriously toxic — full of dangerous chemicals, industrial waste, and yes, poop. It reeks in the summer and lives in the popular imagination as the perfect dumping ground for dead bodies. No plant or animal life can survive in it for long. This tends to inspire two kinds of images: gritty photos of the filth and pollution, and scenic landscapes that try not to dwell too long on the former.

Renowned French American photographer Vincent Laforet recently embarked on the photo mission of a lifetime when he soared 7,500 feet in a helicopter above New York City to capture breathtaking aerial photos of the glittering cityscape at night. Held in only by a full-body harness, leaning out of the chopper over a dizzying expanse of darkness and tiny pinpoints of light, the photographer says his experience was "both exhilarating and terrifying" and "the scariest. . . and the most beautiful" flight of his career. Titled Gotham 7.5K, the photos were shot on assignment for Men's Health Magazine for an article about psychology. Laforet proposed shooting from an unusually high altitude to capture the lines formed by the streets of NYC at night, which remind him of "brain synapses." After finding a helicopter pilot willing to fly at such a crazy altitude, the photographer had to work with him to plan flight paths and obtain special clearances to fly above airline traffic landing at…

Japan Unveils Designs For First Underwater City, And We’re In Awe

We’ve seen people living in tiny homes, big homes and everything in between — but nobody has ever taken underwater dwelling to a level like this.

A Japanese architecture firm has unveiled renderings of what would be the world’s first underwater city, which the firm says could be constructed as early as 2035.

Lake Resia, The Sunken Town Where You’ll Walk On Water

This takes “walking on water” to an astonishingly real-life level.

In Italy’s Lake Resia, near the borders of Austria and Switzerland, a lone bell tower shoots up from the perfect, blue-green water. It’s the only visible remnant of Graun(Curon in Italian), a town that vanished underwater more than 60 years ago.
