Hi everyone !! This isn't a return announcement, but I wanted to share today's adventure 🤧💕 I traveled to the D23 expo & visited the twst booth

Most of my pictures turned out blurry because I was so excited but I took so many !! And then I almost cried meeting Grim up close

quitting this blog is a super bizarre feeling actually 🤡 idk if anyone’s still here who used to follow the unofficial-twstd blog, but that was first made in august of 2019 !!!! now that’s dead and this one will be inactive & I don’t have anything to do on tumblr anymore sjjsk

For the longest time, I always thought that Riale's name was written as Rielle. This makes me wonder how we know any of like the spelling for any character names (outside of the main cast who already have their names written in EN too), especially since some letters (like the Ls and Rs) are usually written the same way in JP. Kinda like Falena or Farena, or if its ReBlanche or LeBlanche back when Ch5 was still new.

"Riale" surprised me too--it's a weird feeling to remember that many of the names/terms we've gotten comfortable with might be very different than what ends up being canon.

Falena/Farena is probably one or the other; that one shouldn't be a major shock. I'm most curious about Neige's last name. I've heard the claim that it must be LeBlanche to match "Blanche neige" (Snow White in French). But the romanization of his name is "Ryubanshe" — there is no L/R after the B.

My personal guess is that it's some kind of rearrangement, so the Blanche cameo is still 100% intended, but not so obvious? Like LeBanche / Lubanche, where they moved the L to the beginning. I've also seen a theory that the "ryuban" part might be "ruban" (French for ribbon).

In Chenya's last name, the 'A' at the end is extended which usually means it becomes -er in EN (Pinker). But the version accepted by the EN fandom seems to be Pinka? I want to know this one too.

The subject being “I” in Jade’s profile quote took me by surprise (??) — but then again for many of the promos, they have used misleading romantic-sounding quotes so maybe it was supposed to be like that after all. But other than that and the other awkward terminology sprinkled through the profiles, I like how the in-game screenshots read 🤧 feels very fluent

will you still reblog translations, or keep yours up? normally when eng releases happen the "official" translations aren't great or tweaked to make westerners comfortable, so i'm a little worried about that

oh right I forgot to consider that part of this 🙈

Everything here will definitely be kept up unless I get a takedown notice! Twst support has stated that they're OK with translations in the past, so I'm doubtful that will happen, but just in case, I have everything backed up on Google Docs & could share the folder.

I won't be translating anymore for now though! I'd still like to continue my hiatus (indefinitely).

Do you think they'll just translate it and keep the jp voice for eng twst or that they would have the option to change the voices between english and japanese?

It's so exciting but also I feel kind of weird because idk if I would want to register for the eng one. I've spent so much time on the account I have now (´；ω；`)

(Also I'm debating if I should register on my tablet or something bc I have twst on my phone lol)

I'm not too familiar with this type of thing but I was wondering if we were to get the eng version of twst on the app would it effect the jpn version of it? Curious if you knew or not! Twst is the first jpn app I've downloaded so I'm just unsure if they would conflict with one another

I believe this will be separate, iirc most localizations of these types of games are like that? At least I always hear others mention how the eng vers are several years behind the jpn vers in terms of events/story releases, so I think it would be similar here

Ortho: It's also nice that the mirrored ball on the ceiling lights up the room every time it turns. Just watching it makes me happy!

Ortho: It really is true that mirrored balls and illuminations have a psychological effect that can lift people's moods, I see.

Ortho: To put it simply, the sparkling lights make people thrilled and excited.

Kalim: Got it. …Does that mean that if there's a mirrored ball, a normal party can become even more lively?

Kalim: Wow! It's so rare to see Jamil this excited about something!

Kalim: If you were a Scarabia student, I'd appoint you Party Ambassador!

Ortho: Eh, me?

Kalim: Cause we've been so engrossed more with you than with the mirrored ball since we started talking!

Kalim: I bet we could hold a bright and exciting party without any remodeling if you were there!

Kalim: Hey, Ortho. Do you want to join us at our dorm for our next party? I want to be able to show the other dorm students your amazing techniques!

Ortho: Wah! You're going to invite me to one of your parties? I'm so happy! I'll fully charge myself before I come so that I don't run out of batteries during it.
