A/N: This season of Daredevil reminded me how much I adore one (1) haunted Catholic idiot.

You used to wake up in the middle of the night to a half-empty bed - Matt nowhere to be found, the wrinkled indentation in the sheets where he once lay growing cold fast. You reasoned that it was just insomnia, his blindness causing Non-24. You’d seen commercials for the sleep disorder; it seemed logical enough. But no amount of logic eased your concern. You couldn’t stand the idea of Matt rambling about Hell’s kitchen in the dark. When he started coming home with bruises - black eyes peeking out from beneath his tinted shades and split lipped kisses pressed to your cheeks - no amount of reasoning could make it feel ok. Matt was disappearing into the night and returning hurt and you couldn’t fathom why.

Summary: The man in front of him looks like Matt. He has the same aura of reined in strength, the same unconscious grace. But there is a predatory tilt to his smile and his hair, Foggy realizes belatedly, is a fiery red, like banked embers. “Foggy!” says not-Matt and, although its low, gravelly notes are deeply familiar, his voice is also wrong somehow, in ways that shift Foggy’s rapidly disappearing equilibrium. He catches himself taking a step back. “Matt?” Foggy asks, hesitant.

aidan gallagher was soooo good in the umbrella academy??? like, he’s a 14 years old acting as a 58 y/o grown ass man who travelled through the apocalypse and then went back to a 14 years old’s body??? and he’s so pissed about it?? he complains as an adult would complain??? every time he was on screen I felt like there was a grown man instead of a little child HIS ACTING WAS SO GOOD. and can we talk about the fact that he spends a fourth of his screen time talking to a mannequin he thinks is the love of his life??? and he’s so CONVINCING that imma about to go “goddamn fucking right, that mannequin is fucking right you should have listened to it” in every fucking scene THATS TALENT BITCH

Five and Diego being my favorites in TUA is kind of hilarious because it’s like

one of them is a brash boy whose mom makes him smiley face pancakes and one is a jaded, stone-cold badass who could kill you a thousand different ways and it’s not the one you think it is
