I like all Tana French’s characters and points of view, but there are times when I really derive a lot of comfort and joy from envisioning an alternate universe where Operation Vestal didn’t end up being such a blazing trainwreck and the entire series is just 6+ books of Cassie and Rob solving different mysteries together.

the problem with being like "i want to read a book that's like a tana french book!" is that any attempt to find something like that will just lead to people recommending you murder mysteries which is not the goal. that's not the identifying feature of a tana french book. the identifying feature of a tana french book is that the main character gets emotionally pulped and turned into orange juice in a way that would only be effective on them. pointed destruction of a psyche!! sexy narration helps too.

Kiss (Your Queen)

I tried adding certain Symbolic Elements (and removing other elements such as A Hand) to match the characters and the theme of the series more.

I started working on this more than 2 years ago and then stopped because I couldn’t get it right, and also didn’t feel like drawing the patterns on the clothes haha 😆

I remembered about it during my vacation and decided to finish it quickly. I’m not 100% satisfied with it but at least it’s finished now! ☺️🌸
