Let’s talk about Yelena Belova.

Yelena Belova is a widow from the red room, significantly younger than Natasha but is the only one to surpass Nat’s records. She became the Soviet’s Black Widow when Natasha defected to the West.

Her first comic appearance was in 1999’s Itsy Bitsy Spider by Devin Grayson but her first proper series was 2002’s Pale Little Spider by Greg Rucka (Grayson inputted). Devin Grayson has also since confirmed that “Yelena is more likely to identify as asexual than to follow Natasha’s romantic path.” —Marvel.com

Yelena is confirmed asexual and heavily implied as aromantic too. I’ve seen a lot of people ship her with Bucky (ew you’re just substituting Nat for her bc you want WinterWidow to happen) and I’ve also seen headcanons of her being lesbian. Despite the fact that she has said in canon that she is specifically not lesbian (“No, I’m not a lesbian. I’m not… anything.”)

I usually don’t get involved with who people decide to ship or others’ headcanons but in the case of Yelena, these headcanons are borderline aphobic. You can headcanon what you want but please do not erase the fact that Yelena Belova is canonically aroace in the comics (and heavily implied the same in the mcu with preferring to have a dog over kids and showing no interest in finding a romantic/sexual partner).

Headcanons and fanfictions can exist for a character like her without erasing her canon sexuality. If you headcanon her a certain way, please do so without erasing the little representation we on the ace spectrum have. Thank you. 🥺❤️

You shouldn’t measure people’s loyalty on their presence or else assume they don’t care about you.

An ex friend had this exact mentality and manipulated me for months until the friendship ended. And I had this exact mentality too so of course I was a fucking doormat to them and to many other people for so-many-fucking-years.

Respect the idea that others have a life outside your friendship and have different things to deal with.

Respect the idea that people will manage their own time and space as they need to.

Respect the idea that not matter now much they love you, they CANNOT always be there. It’s just impossible to always be there.

Most importantly, respect that your friends do not think like you do and assume they are wrong or less interested because of it.

This mindset is toxic, damaging, and self-sabotaging because you are creating doubts in yourself and other people.

My best friend—whom I have know for 13 years—and I barely talk to each other, barely know what the other is currently going through. She has a very busy and difficult life and so do I. Haven’t see her in a year or so.

So even if I cannot be there and neither can she, we know without doubt that we love and support each other no matter what. I would never demand what she cannot give and measure her loyalty on it. She would never do the same to me—and our friendship has gone through hell and back, so I know what I’m saying here.

Simply respect other people’s lives and stop self-sabotage.

Hi I’m elizabeth, and I’m starting what is basically a residential mental health and ED program—it’s 7 days a week and inaccessible to commute so I have to stay there, and lasts for about 3-6 weeks

I’ve been searching everywhere for someone to take care of my cat, Funky, for weeks, even delaying admission by a week. I finally caved and booked him a spot at a pets hotel, and I was finally able to visit today and discovered the space he would have to spend the majority of his time is less than a meter cubed (about 3’x2’x3’). It seems absolutely cruel to have him spend that long in that kind of space, and I worry greatly about him feeling like he’s been sent back at the shelter, but at this point I’ve exhausted every option

I’m looking for someone within 2 hours or less of Chicago who can take care of an adult male, neutered cat for 3-6 weeks, but even a single week would lift a lot of stress off my shoulders. He free feeds and is up to date on his vaccines. He is extremely social with people—today at the vet they had trouble hearing his heart cuz he was purring so much while being held—but doesn’t require constant attention. He is good at using his litter box and is a very light scratcher, but he just got his nails trimmed today which is why he scratches mostly.

I am able to pay for his care and your time. Please help Funky, he’s the most important person in the world to me

The most important parallel between Steve Rogers and John Walker so far.

“Because a strong man, who has known power all his life, may lose respect for that power.”

Steve only wanted to slow Tony down and end the fight once and for all. No one besides Bucky was there. Steve never meant to kill Tony. However, he accepted Tony’s words and dropped the shield. And by that, he also dropped his title as Captain America.

John was not only blinded because of what just happened to Lemar, he was also blinded by power hunger. It happened before his friend’s death.

His insecurity of not being enough for the title drove him to think that by only taking the serum and acting so reckless, he would then gain a ‘respectable position.’ There was a whole public around him and he didn’t even hesitate to kill. And instead of dropping the shield on shame and regret, he just holds onto it more.

It’s just horrible. I grew up like this too, and that’s why I’m so attentive to every single detail and knew so well how to use electronics. It makes you paranoid.

I understand that a parent has to check on their kids so they won’t into dangerous things, but there is a BIG line between that zone and invading your child’s privacy zone. There is no way children will trust their parents if adults behave this way. I can’t say it enough.

How do you protect yourself from being stalked online by your parents?

I often get messages from teens living with their abusive parents telling me about how terrifying it is for them to even look at my blog in case their parent finds out. I was a teenager before social networking on the internet. Honestly, when I was a teenager there was barely an internet yet. So, I don’t know how people protect themselves but I feel like probably there are ways. If you know please do share! A lot of people would find it helpful.
