What I realized when we won our second World Cup in 2019 to the reverberating, echoing chants of "equal pay" was when I realized that the greatest part about women's sports is women and everything that women's sports is. It's forward-thinking. It's progressive. It's abundant. To diminish ourselves as just athletes was not good enough.
So progress and equity was the goal. And when I thought about the mountain or the goal that I chose as a little girl to win a World Cup, it wasn't big enough. You got to win two. It wasn't big enough on that mountain. I saw the next one. And that was progress and equity with this amazing vehicle and platform that we've been given for sport, in sport.
