if you have Norton Antivirus or Norton VPN, delete the software ASAP.
Norton is automatically installing and running a cryptocurrency mining program in the backgrounds of their users. There is no text box asking to confirm the use of this program and is installed automatically, it runs during “downtime” on your computer . While the official announcement said that this program was exclusive to the US, international users are reporting it as well. We don’t know the exact scope yet.
To delete this program, must go into the files (Program Files/Norton) and delete the file NCrypt.exe. It will ask for the admin permission. (Some report having admin permissions on their computer but being unable to delete the program.) If the software is already downloaded to your computer, I would NOT recommend continuing to use Norton, as there is no guarantee that the .exe file won’t return in another update.
Tell your friends and family, reblog, spread this, please. It’s barely been getting any attention, and I worry that Norton is setting a precedent that other companies will repeat. However, if a large (or very vocal) part of the userbase continues to complain, it may make Norton or other companies think twice before mining crypto on your computer.

i honestly think that the reason that the whole "staff shortage" thing still hasn't been resolved is because employers legitimately aren't trying to remedy it.
like as this "shortage" drags on it seems less and less like a natural phenomenon and more like excuse for employers (especially large employers like grocery store chains) to see just how few people they can have in their stores and still make money. like this pandemic has given them the perfect opportunity to see just how shit they can make the customer experience while still turning a profit
and when you look at it that way, the countless stories of people being denied jobs that were supposedly in DESPERATE need of filling totally make sense! because even if your store has ten-person lines at every cashier, if it isn't hurting your bottom line, why would you care? businesses are finding out now just how much that they can get away with before losing business, and it's WAY more than they previously thought

actually so much of dean is wrapped up in his endless deep cut pop culture references like it’s not just a fun affectation. that is where he learned what the rest of the world is like. that’s where he learned about friendship and love and first dates and college and mothers and the beach. that was his window into a life beyond hunting because he never left. he never left like sam he never got to experience those things in a meaningful way beyond just rolling through town. his sense of morality and life and what it means to be a man are all so completely filtered through whatever he picked up on the motel tv. it’s no wonder he hides everything behind a performance. that’s all he’s seen

My unfinished and unpublished spn AU where Death sent Dean, and only Dean to an alternate world with no monsters and and away from everyone else and Dean kind of became a vigilante/secret agent at the end of Season 10 is becoming more and more appealing.

A note on the topic of trauma that I personally found helpful in accepting the idea that I am a trauma victim is that one of the most widely accepted facts in the field of trauma research is that abuse is often not the common factor in whether somebody will develop ptsd.
Many people can go through awful things without developing trauma based disorders as long as they receive compassion and support in processing those events as they happen. The most common factor in developing something like ptsd is emotional neglect. And emotional neglect on it’s own can be enough.
Whatever you went through was enough I promise, you’re not overreacting. Abuse and neglect are traumatic at any level, you don’t need to have gone through the worst possible experience you can think of to develop ptsd. If it hurt you then it hurt you.

Just realized that not only did John do things like take Adam to baseball games, but that also means that he would leave Dean, lying about where he was, so he could go take a kid to a baseball game.
Like if I was Dean, I would be crushed. John chose Adam in almost every way over him, not to mention the recurring theme of "John favours Sam over Dean". So Dean was probably thinking "not only did Dad like Sam more than me, he liked this random kid he saw once a year more than me."
That episode was just really emotionally painful for me to watch. And then watching Sam wants to teach Adam about hunting and Dean wanting to keep Adam innocent to the world of monsters. It was heartbreaking.
Sam definitely has his issues, but in that episode I really felt for Dean.

It’s one of those days where I can’t help but think about how much the writers did both Jensen and Dean dirty. Today, though, it’s specifically in regards to Dean’s amulet.
Jensen was the one to choose that amulet. He picked it up, along with other pieces of jewellery, to give his character more depth, because at the time, Dean was meant to be written as nothing more than a stereotypical bad boy. Jensen cared about his character, and wanted to give him a little individuality, since Dean’s character was mostly supposed to be all about Sam. So for the writers to take that amulet, and make it all about Sam, is honestly so infuriating. And no, this isn’t to say that Sam isn’t important to Dean, or that the brotherly bond shouldn’t have existed in the early seasons, but, the amulet was literally one of the few things about Dean that had nothing to do with any other character other than him, and it was done purposely by Jensen? And to take that away, spit on it, and make it all about the other protagonist, even though at the time almost everything else was already about Sam? Why? They couldn’t find anything else? Not to mention, how it was actually supposed to be for John, but was given to Dean later, kind of like an afterthought. (and no I’m not criticizing young Sam for that, it was a sweet gesture, and very kind, but it WAS originally for John, and Dean knew, so it does kind of take away from it.) Also, the fact that it was given to Dean , instead of John, because Dean was the one with Sam, which only reinforces the toxic parentification, and how unfair it all was for Dean
I just feel like it could’ve meant so much more, if the history of the amulet was actually about Dean. Like perhaps on his first hunt, he successfully managed to save a family, and as a thank you, a child from the family gifts him with the amulet, and Dean keeps it on at all times to remind himself why he’s fighting and hunting. That would’ve fit in a lot with his character, because we see that for him it wasn’t just revenge that motivated him. It was saving innocent people and being helpful as well. Something like that, which allows us to see more of Dean as an individual character (which was the intention behind the amulet in the first place, thank you for trying, Jensen.), instead of just half of a brothership. Early seasons Sam had those. Why couldn’t Dean?

Ok Mary goes on about how hard it is for her. How seeing her children grown up and in a different light than she remembered them being was terrible and she just couldn't cope with it right now.
But Dean was going through the EXACT SAME THING. Like suddenly here is his mom who he idolized. Who he out up on a pedestal. Who he equated with normalcy and happiness and a peaceful time before his life broke down into constant fear and hurt. That's who he remembers. And suddenly she's here. And she's not domestic. She's not the mom he remembers. She's a hunter. She's just another person who leaves. She's the opposite of everything Dean imagined her as.
But instead of running away, Dean tries to reconcile. Tries to fix the burrier between them.
But Mary? Mary runs. She takes for because she can't handel everything. She thinks only of herself and walks out the door.
Mary was really selfish a lot of times even though Dean was feeling the exact same thing.

I just realized that while it's always "Sam came back Dean! Yes he left, but he came back!" Like every fic you read about Dean's abandoment issues writes it off as "I'm sorry I left, but I came back to you."
And that's... Not accurate.
Sam didn't come back to Dean.
Dean asked him to come back, yes, but Sam said no. I'm not blaming him for saying no, but he still said no.
It wasn't until Jess died and he wanted revenge that he came back. He even openly admits that as soon as they kill the Yellow Eyed Demon, he's done.
Dean might have gotten his brother back, but despite what people try to make it out as, Sam didn't come back for Dean. He only came back for revenge.

I never will see Dean as a submissive victim. On the contrary, whatever he had to deal with only made him stronger. He is a fighter and survivor. It's funny that for someone who is supposed to be a broken, suicidal shell, he never gave up, and he was an inspiration and a bolster for those around him. He kept on fighting and helping others to live happily and peacefully. He still got dreams and hopes for a world free of evil and peace and freedom for everyone. His morals and values are pure and unbreakable. Dean's handsome; it will be a denial, not to point that out. And I don't blame SPN for using Jensen's natural beauty. From my POV, this only shows how weak are all the creatures (humans or not) in the awesomeness of Dean's appearance. And all those who molested him got only his disgust and resilience. He was not afraid he didn't give himself to them. He's been through a lot, but no one owned him. No one really could break him. He has such a remarkable will that is even more attractive than his good looks. Dean has been tortured in Hell; he was a vampire; he was possessed, resisted the Mark of Cain, was a Knight of Hell; he was so many things, but a weak, submissive victim is not one of them! He was able to resist the urge to become a real monster, to spread his legs for the creatures that wanted him so badly. The monsters tried to get him on his knees. But broken, dead inside or whatever; he never bends down. The only time that Dean got screwed without a choice and has been a victim who lost his will for life and just gave up was in s15e20 in that barn.
