it was so cold in Chicago, Illinois this past weekend that Lake Michigan started steaming due to the water being so much warmer than the air. the low temperature on Sunday was -9.94 F/-23.3 C

I love this book so much, y'all. it's a love letter to Northwest Ohio and soft old men. it's about love and grief and trying to navigate loss. it's deeply queer. it's deeply me. it's a book I wasn't sure I could write BUT THEN I DID and I'm so proud of it that it hurts.

this just in, turns out the angst I wrote is pronounced much more angstily than I thought. in my defense I had only ever seen it written until I listened to the raw audiobook files today

it's all fun and games until you HEAR EDNA CRY

then it's more like oh god who let me do such terrible things to such a nice old lady dear lord

anyway still not sure what the timeline to release is, but the book is all recorded! I need to record my bits (acknowledgements) and then it needs to be edited, so stay tuned

At a party and a guy was telling me about how one of his coworkers was complaining about how he thought his dealer was lacing his heroin with cocaine and then the party guy was like “but his dealer was his brother” and I said “that’s some cocaine and abel shit” and the joke flopped so hard but I stand by it so I had to share it somewhere

So my sister wants to start sewing more, because

a. She’s 5′ 11″ and can never find pants long enough for her legs or shirts long enough for her arms.

b. She hates synthetic fibers as much as I do and it’s difficult to find natural fiber clothes that aren’t made of cotton

c. She’s a biologist and would physically fistfight microplastics if given half a chance

So her gift from mom and dad for her birthday was a sewing machine. Not a super expensive one but a good solid serviceable one.

And recently she asked “So where do I GET wool or linen and thread that isn’t polyester” and mom was like ‘go ask your sister’

And I, of course, crashed into the group text like “GET A PEN I HAVE WEBSITES FOR U” and honestly I’m thrilled about this
