And part of you still hopes that one random day you will get that ao3 update email and your days of wondering about that cliffhanger will end
and you will finally know peace

any mention of black lives matter has disappeared off my dashboard so i thought y'all might want to know that police stormed a peaceful vigil in memory of elijah mcclain, attacking mourners with pepper spray. families were there. children were affected. this movement isnt over just because it's no longer trendy.

DabiShi cheating Headcanons
because i feel angsty
Dabi cheating on Shigaraki
Tumblr media
Shigaraki would freak the fuck out
yell and possibly throw things, maybe cry out of anger
this man doesn’t give second chances so he’ll never want to see Dabi again
he kicks Dabi out of the league, deadass. even if he’s one of the league’s best assets but, for once, he has to be selfish
he doesn’t want to be reminded that his trust, which he doesn’t hand out easily, has been met with betrayal and Dabi’s face is a constant reminder of that, so he has to stay far away
and Dabi does exactly that, he stays away.
Shigaraki hates that he wishes Dabi would have at least tried to get him to forgive him. it fuels his rage even more that he just …leaves
he will never trust anyone again, even the rest of the league has to feel it when he becomes more detached from them
now all his relationships are only “business” anymore
if he finds out who Dabi cheated with, yes, he will put them on his hit list. everything he hates has to be destroyed, so naturally, this person has to be destroyed too.
Dabi is on the same list with a question mark next to his name, because as much as he hurt him, he can’t bring himself to hurt him back … but he really wants to
and if Dabi shows his face to him again, he actually might
Shigaraki cheating on Dabi
Tumblr media
a deadpan “oh” is his first reaction
his second reaction is “good for you, getting more dick”
then he goes about his day pretending nothing is wrong
but it eats at him
he will search the fault in himself “i wasn’t good enough so he found someone else”
it drives Tomura crazy that he acts like nothing happened, he would rather the other would get mad at him, yell at him, punch him if he must. as long as he would show that he cares
but he won’t. when did showing that he cares ever made things better? it already happened and he couldn’t change it now
he doesn’t want to know who the person is Shigaraki cheated with but if for any reason he finds out, it’s barbeque time
unhealthy coping mechanisms. he gets shitfaced, seeks out people for one-night stands, commits arson… all to just to let out his bent up frustration somehow
only weeks later he will eventually show up to Shigaraki’s doorstep, fucked up, and crying blood as he grabs the other’s collar
“fuck you for breaking me when you were supposed to make me feel whole again!”
it breaks Shigaraki too

Stop with the Call Out Posts
I’m talking about stuff like this:
Tumblr media
I realize the irony of this being a call out post, but please stop it with the call outs on how and how much people post on social media about Black Lives Matter. Been seeing so much of it lately and it’s awful. A lot of people feel it’s not their place, are scared of saying the wrong thing, are concerned about seeming like they’re just going with the trend (which has been one of the call outs I’ve seen) while also worried that they’ll be called out for saying nothing. They also may have friends/family who would start shit about it and not be in a place to be able to deal with it properly.
People can support the movement in way that works for them. Some of them may be silent but donating. They may be having conversations outside of social media. That post you’re calling out for being too little too late might have taken a lot of thought and courage and the start of something (ESPECIALLY from “people who haven’t said shit all week”). We need to be supportive of each other right now, not tearing each other down for not supporting the movement in a specific way. People are learning how to be better.

Important Info
Some advice about tear gas:
Don’t put water on your skin or face unless you have a steady stream of it, it will hurt more. If you can find a drinking fountain or a sink, wash your eyes out between 10 to 15 minutes. If this is not available, don’t touch your face or touch your eyes until you can use a saline wash and a cold shower at home.
If you are tear gassed, your clothes are now contaminated and when you are safe and able, strip them off and rinse your skin with as much water as you are able. {again, drinking fountains or public restrooms if showers are unavailable}
Milk helps with pepper spray, not tear gas, but milk/yogurt is used for the pain and the cooling effect it has, if water is unavailable, then it is best to use milk/yogurt.
If you are teargassed, try to remain calm, tear gas tricks you into believing you cannot breathe.
Preparing for tear gas:
Don’t wear contacts or makeup to the protest. Leaving contacts in with a irritant is dangerous and can lead to corneal ulcers. Makeup shouldn’t be worn because tear gas can cling to things like mascara and lipstick.
When attending a protest, bring a thick scarf with perfume in it or any sort of incense, use it to cover your face if the cops are using tear gas. DO NOT RUN IN THE GAS. Avoid it as best as possible. If you cannot move upwind, lay on the ground and cover your face until it dissipates.
Some Palestinian advice: carry around a bag of chopped onions, if the tear gas is out, deeply inhale the onions. The gas used by the IDF is the same gas used by the police.
Wear a mask to the protest, cover your mouth and nose. Plastic face shields would also work well. Make sure your eyes are protected, you can use swim goggles - sunglasses and eyeglasses won’t help seal out containments.
Long sleeves, pants, and socks - protect your skin and bring an extra change of clothes - the denser the material the less the gas will get in.
Stay safe, roll with a crew, the cops have fired tear gas at peaceful protestors, always be prepared.

After learning what Black Out Tuesday was originally intended to be, I too would like to use this opportunity to boast about some black creators and their work that needs more attention.
These are the three books, two graphic novels and one poetry book, that I will be reading this week.
✊🏾 I Am Alfonso Jones by Tony Medina and illustrated by Stacey Robinson & John Jennings with a foreword by Bryan Stevenson:
When an off-duty officer mistakes a clothes hanger for a gun, Alfonso Jones wakes up in the afterlife guided by fellow victims of police shootings. Meanwhile, Alfonso’s family and friends struggle with their grief and seek justice for Alfonso’s murder.
✊🏾Your Black Friend and Other Strangers by Ben Passmore:
Described as required reading for those seeking to be useful allies in the fight for justice, this collection of culturally charged comics tackles race, gentrification, the prison system, racial micro-aggressions, and more with both humor and relatability.
✊🏾Say Her Name by Zetta Elliot and illustrated Loveis Wise:
In this collection of haikus and poems, Elliot creates a chorus of voices celebrating the creativity, resilience, and courage of Black women and girls while also paying tribute to victims of police brutality as well as the activists championing for the Black Lives Matter cause.
I encourage everyone to check out these books, support a independent bookstore (especially Black-owned ones!!!) and your local libraries. And as always, BLACK LIVES MATTER! And please don’t forget to let your Black joy shine!
