Something that messes me up about the character of Gabriel, especially as a metaphor for realizing you're queer, as he's been pretty solidly confirmed to be, is that he LET the council strip the Light of the Father from him.
We know he is hilariously more powerful than the council because he effortlessly kills them later. They have no power to strip the Father's Light from him unless he willingly sat there and underwent what is implied to be a very long period of unimaginable agony.
Because he thought he deserved it. Because he felt feelings starting to form inside him he didn't understand and he turned to his faith and his religious upbringing for guidance and they said "if you cannot find a way to rid yourself of these feelings, you deserve death. If you cannot force yourself not to be queer, you deserve to die"
And, in that moment, he believed that.
And by the time he realized what he was feeling was not hatred or something impure and shameful, but in fact a desire that was beautiful and natural,
It was too late.
He doesn't think he deserves to die for being queer now, but the damage is done. He can't take it back.
Because in that moment he turned to his family and they said "It is better for you to be dead than queer" and he believed them.
I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way but Europe is kinda like a miniature America. All the landscapes and trees and stuff are SMALL, they're little versions of the stuff we got going on over here. Even your big things, like the alps, are so cute. You could put a fun roller coaster up there and make it a little ride for the kids.
this ramadan we pray for peace and aid for the people of palestine. this ramadan we remember the previous ramadans, where thousands of palestinians were massacred. this ramadan we honour palestine, and may we see a free palestine next ramadan
I hate when an artist gets exposed for being a bad person and people start the narrative “why would you even want to listen to their shitty music” when are we going to be freed from the idea that only good people create good art and bad people create bad art. It just makes it harder for these types of people to be exposed because now you got people thinking “how is this possible, his music is so good!”
just learned that a mutual of mine is pro israel (they’re now blocked) so i wanted to take the time to say that if you believe what’s happening in palestine is not a genocide than you are not welcome here. unfollow me block me whatever i don’t want you interacting with me at all
aaron bushnell posted on the morning of his self-immolation:
“Many of us like to ask ourselves, ‘What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?’ The answer is, you’re doing it. Right now.”

do not stop talking about palestine. do not stop talking about sudan. do not be complicit in ongoing colonization and genocide. how many more palestinian men, women, and children must die? how many more people all over the world whose hearts are in gaza?
