my old apartment building was nextdoor to a laundromat, so often when you stepped outside you would be hit with the smell of fresh laundry. i really missed it when we moved, but from our new place i can hear a nearby church’s carillon recitals in the afternoon. i guess there’s always a little thing like that

im looking at cave paintings and getting emotional about early man

frankie and i were out of the house for a day and a night, and in that time our rats dave and buster escaped from their cage—it seems the latch meant to lock the cage door was loose, so the door opened and they could come and go freely. they are completely fine, they mostly just made a nest out of a bunch of garbage that was under our bed and they also completely obliterated a yoga mat. the weird thing is, we have two yoga mats—they’re made of different materials, but they are stored right next to each other.

one yoga mat was completely chewed up (they didn’t eat it they just enjoy tearing things to shreds. nesting instinct?) but the other was virtually untouched. it had a couple little bite marks where i guess they sampled it and did not find the flavor to their liking. i’ve never been more curious about the mouthfeel of different yoga mat materials.

my face was in the recent hbomb video (but not because i did plagiarism dw) and i tweeted about it and the tweet kinda “did numbers” as the kids say so now i have like twice as many twitter followers (twice as many as “a couple” is still just “a few” of course) so now i can tweet out any old shit on the dying blue website and it will fetch at least 2 likes. amazing feeling. every day i become more entrenched in the superficial validation of the social media numbers. need to do something about that. but it’s going well otherwise
