There something so highschool about Gwen and Miles' relationship, and I don't mean that in a negative way. The intensity of first real love, when you're old enough to know what it is but not old enough to know what you're doing. The messing up, the fumbling, the pining, the ugly mistakes. The purity and sweetness, the honesty, where you feel there is no one else in the universe quite like this (and you're young, you haven't seen much of the universe, but that doesn't make it a lie). The kind of love that comes with impossible odds, because how many people do or should marry their first love? You're doomed by statistics, by the stretch of growing and straining out of youth. But you believe it will be you, you believe you are the ones who will make it work. Despite everything. Because after all, there's a first time for everything, right?

I'm so late on this but whatever it's a good series
Why Jang Uk and Naksu are perfect for each other and how the love triangle with Seo Yul only reinforces that:
Let’s start with a quick character analysis, shall we?
First we have Yul, the model student, the one who’s memorized all the rules by heart and follows them to the letter.
While he was in love with Naksu (or rather, the memory of her) his first instinct when he met her again in S1 was to doubt and suspect her.
As you can see here (EP 12 S1) he, very subtly, tells Uk they should get rid of Naksu since she’s now a soul shifter, and a dangerous one at that. She’s the shadow assassin, after all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And let’s be real, he never trusted her completely. Why would his first thought after she ran wild be “this could have been avoided if I’d reported her” otherwhise? He trusted Uk, but not Naksu.
This can be seen in the latest episode, EP 6. He may love her, but he still believes getting rid of her is better for everyone. Even though she herself doesn’t know who she is. Even though she is harmless. His choice is still the same: to follow the rules, eliminate the thread, and maintain peace.
On the other hand we have Uk: the underdog. Underestimated, undermined and cast aside his whole life. He doesn’t follow the rules, but rather his heart. How could he believe in a system that deemed him worthless? He doesn’t owe anyone shit, because no one ever gave him a chance, none ever cared enough, until Naksu.
Tumblr media
This is Uk’s answer to Yul’s “Naksu is dangerous”. He doesn’t condemn her, doesn’t judge her, doesn’t let prejudice win over what he knows about her. Never has. Because he’s been there. Because he’s been called useless, a silly nobleman who wasted his time and others’s, a man who would amount for nothing. Until Naksu gave him the chance no one ever gave him before.
Naksu stabbed Uk. She killed him. And yet the moment he woke up, he was sure none of that was her fault, that Jin Mu was the mastermind somehow. Hell, even when he was dying in her arms he reached for her and interlaced their fingers in an “I love you” gesture. He NEVER doubter her, even while she drove a sword through his heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
God, and look at this. He doesn’t give a damn about anything else, for him it’s all about her because she’s the one who gave him back the wings his father cut and his previous masters kept locked up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, something the king said on EP 4 is very telling.
Tumblr media
People love to talk about Naksu, love to gossip about her, but not a single one of them knows her. No one knows anything about her. Except Uk.
Uk, who looked beyond the assassin’s facade and saw the affection-starved girl. The girl who often bought honey biscuits for him, the girl who made a certain type of noodles because she knew he liked them.
He saw the girl who was worth protecting, even dying for, while everyone else saw the girl that must be killed, the threat.

Given the way Netflix handled the release/promotion of Warrior Nun. I doubt they ever intended to renew it.
The real kick in the teeth?
They tried to have the post-credit scene removed. That tiny scene that gave us hope for a happy ending. They wanted to leave us on a devestating cliffhanger, knowing we’d never get a resolution.
Likely they didn’t want it in because it hinted too much at a continuation. But really? Can you imagine how much more it would have hurt if they got their way? If the last thing we ever saw was Beatrice, alone, crying.
Thank you for fighting, Simon.
Fuck you, Netflix.

okay so the wilds got canceled for low viewership and negative responses, first kill got canceled for not holding viewership long enough and negative responses, paper girls again got canceled for low viewership, and warrior nun *checks notes* oh warrior nun had overwhelmingly positive responses but got canceled for not holding viewership long enough… weirdly tho these “low viewership” numbers are incredibly similar to many shows that did get renewed and did get largely promoted-namely heartstopper, young royals, elite— so i cant help but wonder if maybe maybe low viewership isnt the problem at all. and that maybe maybe the problem is the other thing that is shared by all of these shows, which is their main love story being wlw and their primary audience being sapphics. and that maybe maybe these shows were never meant to be renewed, as the disparity in promotional investment is obvious, because of that very reason. maybe that has something to do with it. fuck netflix and fuck streaming.

The thing that’s most frustrating about the warrior nun cancellation — you know, besides being such a massive kick to the gut for wlw content for losing something that actually served us a near impossible combination of exciting plot + compelling characters + solid writing + one of the best slow burn romantic arcs I’ve seen + a headlining wlw relationship + an all around great found family story — is that if you asked me, a final 8-10 ep season would have been the perfect way to tie this series up in a nice lil gift box we’d cherish forever.
Would I have watched 5739 seasons of wn if they produced it? Fuck yes. Does it need 5737 more? Not *really*. Season 2 ended at what felt like the end of the story’s second act, a perfect setup for a third and final season. Kinda feels like the ground was ripped out from under us when we were 10 feet from the finish line, but what do I know

Hey for people who are not in the Discord Server, just thought i’d update you all! So apparently the company that produced Warrior Nun is Reality Distortion Field, that was co-founded by Simon Barry, the excecutive producer of Warrior Nun. So that means Netflix possibly doesn’t have all the rights to the show, so there is hope to get it to another platform.
People are mass cancelling their Netflix accounts, and posting a screenshot of their cancellation confirmation on Twitter with the hashtah “CancelNetflix”. There is a petition going around, i’m gonna put the link to that in the replies, along with the Discord link if people wanna join.
#SaveWarriorNun is trending #4 worldwide on Twitter right now, and has been going up in the last hours, so we might get it to #1? Possibly?
Also just as a little reminder, Manifest was cancelled, but Netflix gave it a last season cause fans were very vocal about it. One day at a time got saved by fans. Wynonna Earp too. Sense8 got a final 2 hours special after fan outrage at its cancellation. Lucifer was supposed to be cancelled too, and they got a chance at a last season to close their storyline. If you don’t want to fight it’s okay, you deserve to grieve in peace, but if you want to give Netflix shit and fight for it? There’s hope. We could have something.
Oh and last thing, Nicole Polizzi is publicly shaming Netflix on Twitter. We stan an icon.

Fuck Netflix. Fuck this industry that keeps cancelling women-led, creative shows. Fuck the death of well-written artistic shows. Fuck the monopoly of creative media being controlled. Fuck LESBOPHOBIC (specfically) industry titans.

Heeey, so been watching Warrior Nun season 2 like there's no tomorrow. I would die for all of them. Here's a list of songs I think go well about Avatrice and just songs I think generally pair well with Beatrice. Just a couple songs I like.
i'm yours by Isabel LaRosa
Wicked Game (theory of a Deadman cover)
Love Again by Dua Lipa
Dancing With Your Ghost by Sasha Alex Sloan
Arcade by Duncan Laurence
Afterlife by Hailee Steinfeld
I Wouldn't Mind by He Is We
The Last Night by Skillet
I Found by Amber Run
Sleepover by Hayley Kiyoko (they shared an apartment for 2 months, don't touch me)
Halo by Beyonce (duh)

So apparently I’m the only person that actually liked the Tyler/Wednesday dynamic, despite a couple things, so I’m about to make an entirely uncalled for essay defending them because I became very emotionally attached in the one night I spent watching this show
To start, I liked how awkward Tyler’s character was right off the bat, because I feel like you don’t see that kind of character type as love interests in much media. A lot of the time it’s overshadowed for the Golden Retriever or Angsty Brooding Type™, and it was really refreshing seeing a different archetype as a love interest. The way him and Wednesday coupled together was always kind of awkward and uncertain, but it felt kinda more real that way considering that’s how a lot of high school romances start out. I really loved the idea of a kind of “baby hold my flower” dynamic between the two, crazy obsessive outcast gf/laid-back supportive normie bf who makes posters to cheer her on during her rampages
On the flip side, once the reveal happened there was so much potential. I wanted his redemption so bad. I wanted him to go back to how he was, while also letting loose more on his more angry feral side while also getting a scene where he got to be redeemed. I was waiting for him to turn to their side any minute, with a speech afterwards about how yes his actions were bad, and while they weren’t his choice persay he just might have enjoyed them, but that doesn’t mean he never liked her! That was all him! Because in all honesty I liked his sweet and caring side contrasted with her cold unfeeling demeanor, although I do see many arguments being made in favor of the serial killer/serial killer stopper dynamic which could be explored
And in terms of canon: the date was adorable, well thought out and showed he actually knew her (like how a scary movie wouldn’t actually scare her: a chick flick would), the way he liked her dancing at the Rave’N, how he always brought her quads, the birthday cake + coffee, all the little sweet gestures of his
(I know that’s only the things he did- but this post is more about him than Wednesday)
I’m fairness, the “I thought you were sending signals” bit felt a little out of left field since she acted the same the whole time, but I’ve learned from experience that if you like someone and you hope they like you back, you can basically turn anything they do at all into a signal
All I’m saying is, ship what you want, but I feel that they worked a lot better than some people give them credit for, and if he hadn’t have been the Hyde they would’ve been really good together, and they still could be
TL;DR, Wednesday x Tyler worked and would also have worked better under different circumstances

I’ll start off saying that I don’t really ship Wednesday with anyone in the new show. Even though she went through some character development, I think she still needs to value and experience friendship more before moving on to romance. And even though I didn’t think it was romantic, I also didn’t hate the kiss between Tyler and Wednesday because it shows that she’s really not above it all and still a regular teenager in the end.
That brings me to the point of this post: I actually really like the idea of whatever it was between her and Tyler. (Ramblings and spoilers ahead, though some disclaimer, I’ve only watched each episode once.)
