The Ford Bronco Raptor is the beast of the offroad machine we have all been waiting for since the 6th generation Bronco was reintroduced. With its 418hp 3.0L twin turbo Ecoboost engine, this is screaming to be touched and unleash its hidden potential. With an entire line of Plug and Play tuning box kits available for turbocharged cars, trucks, and SUVs, one of VR Tuned most successful sales product has been for the Ford Bronco 2.7L Ecoboost. Well now its time for the Bronco Raptor 3.0L Ecoboost to choice in with the gains!
Being lucky enough to have the Ford Bronco Raptor here at Vivid Racing, we were able to strap this thing down to our Mustang Dyno and see what it made stock. Once we got our baseline test of around 334 rear wheel horsepower, we could start the development of the tuning box map. The tuning boxes are universal and get preprogrammed to the customers vehicle before they are shipped. And the harness for the Ford Bronco Raptor is one already available as its used in the Bronco 2.7L as well as the Ford F-150 3.5L Ecoboost engine. Connecting the harness to the Manifold Pressure and Boost Pressure sensor is all it takes to bring this live. The sensors are very easy to access with one being right in front of the throttle body and the other just under the intake tube that goes across the top of the engine. With a 10mm socket just remove a metal bracket to gain access to this sensor.
Utilizing our logging device we were able to test different settings of some base maps that are then preset for the tuning box to be in a safe range for 91-93 octane. Once we were happy with the tweaks made, we were able to complete our after runs to compare to our baseline test. Using setting 6 on the tuning box which is preferred, we saw some pretty strong gains throughout the entire midrange. Both horsepower and torque picked up about 50 to the wheels (70-80 to the crank). Power can be measured to the crank which is standard HP or to the wheels which is RWHP. Dyno graphs will show RWHP. So when Ford says the vehicle makes 418HP, in actuality, on our Mustang Dyno with 91octane and our warm ambient temperature of 90F here in Arizona, we saw about a 20% drivetrain loss giving 334rwhp. But with the tuning box we achieved about 380rwhp. That puts this Bronco Raptor at 480HP to the crank!
The tuning box found a neat home to be mounted right behind the passenger side intake box. Because this is a plug and play device, it can easily be removed for major warranty purposes should you choose to do so. There is not trace or record to the ECU since we are not altering the ECU parameters directly. The best part is the entire kit is Bluetooth operated via an IOS or Android app.

VRP x TFL Italy New Exhaust Line Released for European Cars
VR Performance (“also known as VRP”) has partnered with TFL Italy to release a series of high quality performance exhaust systems for popular European vehicles such as Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Audi. Each VRP system from TFL is hand built to order in their factory near the heart of Italian horsepower in Modena. Instead of just another company building exhausts off factory jigs, TFL Italy creates each system from the ground up. Having the car in their R&D facility, each vehicle gets 3D scanned to design the system for the best flow and function. Once completed a prototype is built to test the most important aspect for any exhaust buyer which is the sound. The exhaust systems feature high quality TIG welds, thick CNC machined flanges, and a laser engraved VR badge. Some exhausts are available in 304 Stainless Steel or highly sought after Iconel. The VRP x TFL exhaust systems are made to work with the factory valve functions and sensors that are on the vehicle. In addition to the exhaust systems that are generally catback or mufflers, competition race pipes and headers are also available for certain models.

3.) Mishimoto Silver Thermostatic Oil Cooler Kit Ford Focus ST 2013-2018

After a few laps on the track or some aggressive street driving, turbocharged 4 cylinder engines like the 2.0L EcoBoost in the Focus ST are known to overheat oil quickly. Even with the stock liquid to liquid heat exchanger, the EcoBoost can still run hot and risk overheating the engine’s coolant. Aggressive tunes paired with some track miles can significantly overheat your oil and wear down your engine. Leave it to Mishimoto to come up with an oil cooling solution for your Focus ST!
The Mishimoto engineers started with a large 19-row oil cooler and mounted it in the front of the vehicle where it receives the most airflow. The oil cooler was mounted on the passenger side as to not interfere with some aftermarket air intake systems. Application-specific braided stainless steel lines transfer the oil from the cooler to the engine and feature -10AN fittings for an easy installation. Mishimoto engineers saw consistent temperature decreases of over 30°F (16.7°C) using our non-thermostatic sandwich plate. This proved that our oil cooler kit can withstand the stress of the most extreme applications.

The Ford Focus ST ECU Tune is done by VR Tuned is one of the best upgrades you can do. The cars 2.0L turbo is already a load of fun to drive. With our new ECU calibration, you are able to gain improved performance with increases in horsepower and torque. The biggest difference when you flash your car is the overall drivability improvement. Your car will have much better throttle response throughout the gears. Where your car is sluggish off the line, huge gains of torque come in giving you a vast improvement of your 0-60mph time. WHY NOT JUST USE A SPACER?
There are many “BOV spacers” on the market that make noise. However, they do this simply by using the factory diverter valve and redirecting the air to atmosphere. Therefore, the performance deficiencies of the factory diverter valve design remain, and furthermore, the flow capacity of the factory diverter is significantly reduced because of the small venting holes used in these BOV spacers.
ECU VS VACUUM CONTROL
Other BOV kits eliminate the ECU control entirely, using pure manifold vacuum control instead. Whilst there’s nothing particularly wrong with this (that’s how the majority of BOVs work), the ECU control is MUCH FASTER, able to detect and respond to much SMALLER THROTTLE TRANSITIONS and, since it’s available, why wouldn’t you use it?

A properly designed exhaust system is critical to engine performance. Skunk2’s 76mm MegaPower RR Exhaust system for the 2012-2015 Civic Si coupe was developed with this in mind and is based off of more than 15 years’ worth of racing experience. Dyno-proven for maximum horsepower, MegaPower RR systems are constructed of T-304 stainless steel, are robotically TIG welded, and feature CNC mandrel bends for a precise fit. The MegaPower RR for the 2012-2015 Civic Si in conjunction with the Skunk2 Alpha Header for the 2012-2015 Civic Si has seen hp gains above 30hp.
Designed for heavily modified naturally aspirated engines as well as for turbocharged applications that require more exhaust flow than Skunk2’s 70mm MegaPower R Exhausts provide, MegaPower RR Exhausts allow engines to breathe more efficiently and produce more power thanks to larger diameter piping. MegaPower RR Exhaust systems were designed for maximum flow and power, featuring oversized tubing and mufflers, which result in a significantly louder tone when compared to other MegaPower systems.
Featuring Japanese-spec, Super N1 styling, MegaPower RR Exhaust systems generate more horsepower by optimizing engine airflow and volume through carefully selected, application-specific tubing lengths and diameters and increased wave scavenging effects for more horsepower. CNC mandrel bending allows for a constant tubing diameter throughout the bend, which results in precise fitment as well as improved exhaust gas flow. Each system is fitted with a resonator, includes stainless steel flanges, and is finished off with a straight-through, low-restriction racing muffler for uninterrupted flow. Each fully polished muffler is mated to a 110mm polished tip with its own acid-etched MegaPower badge and serialized nameplate. A Skunk2 removable silencer and all necessary hardware are also included.

Drop the charged air temperatures in your 2016+ Infiniti Q50/Q60 with the Mishimoto Performance heat exchanger. Air-to-water intercooling is the wave of the future when it comes to modern turbocharged vehicles, but calls for an additional heat exchanger on the front of the vehicle in order to dissipate the heat. The VR30DDTT equipped in the Q50 and Q60 is quite the performer, but the stock heat exchanger is the weak link in the chain that pulls you along. It’s a relatively small core to be dissipating the heat from two individual intercoolers. On top of that, the plastic end tanks that couple the lines to the core bring durability into question over the lifespan of the vehicle. In our quest to improve the air-to-water intercooling system on your Infiniti, we started by vastly increasing the core size on our Performance Heat Exchanger Design. Our new core design features a 196% increase in core volume and 97% increase in external fin surface area over the stock unit. In addition, our heat exchanger features an all-aluminum, TIG-welded construction for improved durability, as well as a removable outlet port and captive bleeder valve to help with installation. These improvements over the stock design result in a drop in outlet temperatures up to 21°F and cooler intake air temperatures. The Mishimoto 2016+ Infiniti Q50/Q60 3.0T Performance Heat Exchanger also includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty for a worry-free installation.

We recently added the RW Carbon Front Lip Spoiler to this project, BMW G87 M2, and oh boy, it made a world of difference cosmetically! The design language of the front end of the BMW G87 has been far from accepted by auto enthusiasts since its release. With a much more aggressive angles, it’s been rough on the eyes of many BMW fans. We do have some good news for people who actually own the car or plan to acquire one; RW Carbon has made it incredibly simple to give this car a small makeover that really does reimagine the chassis’ appearance to give a traditional BMW M ‘Comp’ appearance and finish.

 The BMW G87 has been hot so far for 2024. With many owners starting to mod the platform and try crazy different wheel fitments, VR Forged has entered the game with what we think might be the perfect spec for the G87.
Shown in the photos below is a custom VR Forged D09 in a Satin Bronze finish with a center lock-inspired center cap. Since this is a custom wheel, the customer opted for an aggressive but excellent fitment. We started by lowing the car with a set of H&R VTF Adjustable Lowering Springs. We lowered this car by about 1.25″ all around. The springs allow for 1.75″ of lowering up front and about 1.8″ out back. So, there is room to make this an even more aggressive fitment, but we don’t want to smoke that fresh RW Carbon Front Lip Spoiler just yet. 😉

The BMW G87 M2 may be the most controversial performance car to hit the market, at least in my lifetime. Not from a performance standpoint either, but controversy surrounding the unique and somewhat blind-sided body language from the M Performance team. BMW has taken us through the wringer with many big changes to their design language in recent updates. The G87 seems to ruffle the most feathers with its square and bulky bodylines that don’t follow much from its older sibling, the F87.
Well, whether you’ve loved the most recent M2 from its 2022 release or have grown to appreciate BMW’s take on the chassis, Vorstiener has entered the conversation with a reimagined carbon fiber aero program that has us wanting to acquire a Toronto Red M2, stat! This is the VRS Carbon Fiber Aero Program. Vorsteiner has always been a staple for creating some of the most stunning aftermarket upgrades primarily focused in the German manufacturing category. Vorsteiner develops outstanding kits for BMW M line with a massive and recent success with reimaging the M3/M4 G8X generation. So much that it’s difficult to see a properly finished G8X that isn’t fitted with a piece from the Vorstiner M3 / M4 Aero Program. While we love the finish of the G8X program, there is something evolving about the new M2 release. If you aren’t aware, the Vorsteiner brand is also the same as Gunther Works; the brilliance behind reimagining the Porsche 911 into what Gunther Werks is. From what I see, this program carries a lot of inspiration from those design concepts for the refinished Porsche 911s. The kit is composed of the following five features:

Tying this whole kit together is a gorgeous 1-piece front lip spoiler that is breathtaking! If you are running a snug fitment on your G87, on man, this is going to make your car’s stance LOW! It appears to extend the front lip about 2-3 inches closer to the ground, tightening up the clearance for an incredible stance. Appearance aside, I really like what Vorsteiner has done with this front spoiler design. There are tons of thoughtful lines that I would imagine are contributing to some serious additional downforce on this front end. This front spoiler is a must-have.

This mid-split five-spoke design is absolutely stunning on the G8X and G87 chassis’. With an aggressive, bespoke fitment, these wheels provide a flush finish that is perfect. While the spoke design isn’t something that we haven’t seen before, the slotted, aero-disc style is an excellent touch. Vorsteiner designed this with functionality in mind. The machined slots provide cool air to be propelled into the brakes to assist with managing high temps from the brakes. From an aesthetic perspective, we are getting some futurist motorsports vibes. the glossy black finish gives the tires the appearance of some big ol’ sidewall. Personally, I love it.
