But, you're 100% right. Gotta be in the mood to write it, gotta be excited when I think about them getting to it. And, I definitely want readers to 'feel' the payoff of this built-up tension/emotions, etc. Also, laboring over word choices seems comical but I do... especially after an ARC reader once complained about the use of the word 'girthy' lmao

I'm getting ready to write one of these scenes and I really have to be in the right frame of mind to do it anymore whereas when I first started writing fic, I jumped into smut scenarios quicker than the plumber would show up in a porn film. I would never make it as a straight-up erotica author but I could never write clean romance either. Just curious if any fic writers feel strongly one way or another about this.

Not a soul has to answer this but I'm curious - do you love or hate writing spicy scenes?
(I would tag some of y'all but don't want to put anyone on the spot.)
I'm getting ready to write one of these scenes and I really have to be in the right frame of mind to do it anymore whereas when I first started writing fic, I jumped into smut scenarios quicker than the plumber would show up in a porn film.
