One of my problems that comes from being unfortunately forgetful (from adhd and whatnot) is that the knowledge that I frequently forget things makes it so that I’m never sure of anything. I could remember something with perfect clarity down to the smallest detail and it doesn’t matter because I’m so used to realizing I forgot or misremembered something that most of the time I am more willing to believe that I am remembering something wrong than I am to believe that the memories in my mind are right. It really sucks and it makes it so that I feel like I have to double or triple check every little thing because what if the information got scrambled between the point it entered my eyes and ears and the point where I go to write it down.

It gets so bad at times that I’ll be talking to someone I’ve been friends with for years and I’ll still be afraid to use their name because what if I’m wrong? Wouldn’t they hate me? I should obviously know their name by now but the doubt is creeping in my mind, how could I even be their friend if I can’t even remember their name? Is anything I remember correct?

The constant rolling disaster that is Overwatch's game development aside, what really perplexes me about how Blizzard is handing the broader franchise is their continual insistence that a canon narrative exists in spite of their equally continual refusal to tell anyone what it is.

Like, okay, the events of the games aren't canon. Fair enough: the games are multiplayer-only, and you can't account for player actions.

Oh, and the animated short films aren't canon either – they're properly understood as in-universe propaganda, not depictions of actual events. That's a little high concept for you guys, but fine.

But surely the comics are canon, right? Well, no; some of the comics (we're not telling you which ones) were canon at one point, but the writing team has decided to go in a different direction.

My dudes, what is left? The weird Source Filmmaker porn? Is that canon? Well, apparently it's at least as canon as anything else!
