And on the eighth day of Chanukah, we see Portia absolutely demolishing her brother at dreidel and taking all his gelt, while MC and Mazelinka are probably busily preparing more latkes, because honestly you can never have enough latkes.

(Of course, I personally imagine that Jinana or Asra knitted this festive little kippah for Julian… and that Pasha splits the gelt with Julian anyway, if only after winning away his very last one. It’s the principle of the thing.)

Also like just in general the arcana fandom has a huge issue with telling members of marginalized groups what is and isn’t offensive to them specifically. “I’m a gentile and drawing Jews with horns isn’t real antisemitism; the Holocaust was.” “I’m a gentile and my trip to the Holocaust museum gives me special insight.” “I’m cis and I don’t think it’s bad to call Asra a man.” “I’m white and whitewashing a fictional character isn’t real racism.” Like these are all real things that have happened in this fandom within the span of a year.

And frankly like it doesn’t matter if a bunch of pick-mes in your discord server or insta comments are telling you it’s not offensive. It isn’t your place to tell other members of a marginalized group who DO take offense to what you’re doing that they’re wrong because someone else doesn’t care. The fact is everyone is different including marginalized folks but none of us can give non Jewish/Muslim or white or able bodied or cishet or neurotypical people permission slips to hurt other people in our community
