Yesterday’s book haul

I was really excited to come home after work yesterday to get excited over these, to unwrap my “blind dates with a book,” but life other plans.

My year long relationship ended last night and I was a mess, I still am, my heart is shattered, and I can’t decide if I want to open these now or wait until I feel better to make a video of my haul + the unwrapping.

Breakups suck. But I guess book hauls can make us feel better

First day of spring classes are already going well.

Except I’m swamped with work already.

I have been so inactive lately, but it’s felt so good cause I finished classes and I haven’t been on my phone a whole lot lately. I spent a lot of time reading, working, painting, crocheting and doing other things that give me great peace of mind. Spring semester starts tomorrow and I’ll be back to early morning coffees in pretty mugs and handwriting pretty notes.

But anyways, I’m back from my little hiatus, and I’m going to try and post more regularly and build more of an identity here, maybe interact with the world of dark academia and literature here on tumblr, I guess.

Here’s a pic of my current to read list, some of them I have already read and want to re-read, others are books I have yet to pick up despite owning them for a long time. The books at the top of the piles, I just picked up from the thrift store and I’m so excited to now have them added to my book collection.

I think soon I need to buy a real bookshelf for my room. My existing one is in our spare room already overflowing with books.

I can’t wait for the day I can live with my boyfriend and he can build me one that will take up the whole wall, but that day is far away.

My books came in the mail today! I got a few others, but these are the three that I’m most excited to read. (I also can’t wait to watch the series after reading these books). This is going to take me way back to seventh grade, where I read all the Harry Potter books before watching the movies. Same vibe. Same excitement. I can’t wait.

I had one of those crisis’s that isn’t actually a crisis. I stepped into the basement where I’ve been doing my school for the past few months (my mom has been using my good office space for her work since they have to work from home) and I looked at my desk and turned right around to do my lecture at the kitchen table.

The basement has felt so dark and depressing, and it’s cold down there. I’ve been really enjoying that I have some separation between school and downtime (basement and bedroom respectively), but I couldn’t stand the basement anymore.

So I finished my lecture, wrote my quiz and went upstairs and moved around all the furniture in my room to accommodate my desk. I got my dad to help me move it upstairs, and I’ve finally set up my new study space. It’s not as spacious and convenient as the basement, where I had the bar counter to spread my stuff out all over, but I feel a lot happier sitting by my open window, letting the sun and fresh air in.

So here’s a look at my new study space, and my favourite little pal has claimed his own space up here with me

Winter Semester is coming to an end, and following the mentally exhausting past few months of being fully locked down and doing all my classes online, I am relieved to be able to take some time for myself and find myself once again.

So here I am, having decided to start a blog. Here I hope to share my interests, my passions, my (hopefully) daily life and rediscover myself through expressing myself via tumblr blog.
