I saw someone fancast Geoffrey Rush as Monsieur Thénardier for musical version of Les Miserables and I'm here for it. Since he had musical experience, he had good singing voice based from audio and clips

And I learned that he's was considered for that role in 2012 musical movie adaptation.

We're so robbed to see Geoffrey Rush as Monsieur Thénardier in Les Mis musical

I'm not into musical theatre particularly and not very familiar with Les Mis in genenral so I can't really comment - I'm sure he could and would have smashed it. I quite enjoyed him as Javert in the non-musical Les Mis adaptation he was in. I remember there was a special lil group of Rush!Javert fangirls back in the day.

Last year, I read The Night Circus by Eric Morgenstein for English class. From an interview I read, the author said the she fancast Geoffrey Rush as Hector Bowen if there's a movie adaptation.

Ironic that the character name is Hector
