This blog is about paradise, purity, water. I'm in heaven with mr Dante, between the stars, spirits, souls and nymphs. I use the lucidity of water, glass, pearls and mirrors as a methaphor, like Dante did. I use the waterlily as a symbol for lightness, resting in peace. The opening lotus as a metaphor for enlightenment and the soul. I am not interested in the hell- part of Dante's journey, the Inferno. The inferno is everywhere. Not here.///------------
Vrij associerend op mijn waterlelieliefde, het geknok om drijvende te blijven in het leven en vol overgave op het watervlak neer te vleien in volstrekte harmonie, kom ik via waternimfen en riviergodinnen via via toch weer uit bij mijn andere passie: de Goddelijke Komedie van Dante, bij de "vergeet"- rivier de Lethe, die overgestoken moet worden om in de paradijselijke hemel van Dante te kunnen komen. In de Griekse mythologie dronken de doden in het hiernamaals water uit de Lethe om hun aardse leven te vergeten. Dante laat zijn berouwvolle zielen in de Lethe-rivier hun zonden vergeten.

So happy to be like HILDA!
This is Hilda, a cartoon created by artist Duane Bryers in the 50’s and recently unearthed. I don’t know about you but I look at these drawings and feel like Hilda is the happy, contented woman inside of all of us…just glorious.
