does anyone else ever unintentionally read a negative review of something you rly like and you have to consciously make an effort not to internalize it and trick yourself into hating the thing you loved 2 seconds ago

I’m the beginning of Aladdin 2017 Genie is taking his children to see Uncle Aladdin and Aunt jasmine and their new cousin change my mind.
It's actually 2019 😅 And yeah, it's pretty much confirmed that Genie and his family were sailing back to Agrabah after years of travel to reunite with Aladdin and Jasmine in the novelization and a deleted epilogue scene from the movie. Though it wasn't really confirmed whether or not Aladdin and Jasmine had kids of their own too but it is a nice thought and possible since the epilogue is supposed to take place 7 years later 😌

“We had one scene together which is called the jam scene now that we improvised. Guy [Ritchie] was an absolute champion in trusting us with that moment and allowing us to take over and see what happened. It’s a beautiful moment that I’ll remember forever.” — Mena Massoud

finished up tort law for the night and I’m watching the 2019 Aladdin movie again, and I just.  I love this movie?  to date it is the only Disney live-action remake that hasn’t felt like a completely soulless carbon copy to me.  there’s a lot of colour, a lot of life, a lot of heart–the basic plot is the same, but they made enough changes that I feel like it’s its own movie, and the soundtrack was to die for.  the movie just felt warm, like the people who were working on it actually enjoyed it and weren’t just going through the motions and, controversial opinion, but I enjoyed the casting.  I was especially fond of Will Smith’s genie.  he made the role his own and I appreciate that.  I also liked Jafar’s portrayal, which I wasn’t expecting to (that statesman line is seared into my brain), and I liked the changes they made to the Sultan and how we got to see more interactions between him and Jasmine… there was a lot to like.  I was worried going in too because so many people said it was flat and boring but I didn’t think so at all, and I loved all the dance numbers, so I don’t know why critics were saying there weren’t any.
just, I don’t know.  it was a very enjoyable movie.  there’s a lot of rewatch value, a lot of heart, a lot of fun.  it’s not perfect, but it’s a hell of a sight more enjoyable than Beauty and the Beast or the Lion King were.
