𝓝ightfall. peter wasn’t sure if he would ever get used to a quiet night, which contrasted the bustling city of new york. even at night, new york is so full of life; noisy. sure, there were hushed voices outside, but it was still so quiet. 

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

the tent was built by mr stark, which he thought was absolutely cool; how a tent seemed small, yet had many more amenities inside — almost like that in harry potter; the tent that the weasleys, hermione and harry stayed in for the quidditch world cup. except, he was staying in it with rogue, gambit and captain america (if returning to earth was possible, he could brag that he was roommates with captain america).

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

though, no matter how hard he’d tried; he just couldn’t sleep. as silently as possible, he crept out of the tent, where he was met with the pitch black sky, and another figure he could distantly see. bucky barnes. he remembered learning about bucky (and captain america) in history; learning about the howling commandos. . .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“evening — wait is it evening — no, it’s night — i dunno — hi sergeant barnes — i mean bucky?” he greeted, resisting the urge to facepalm himself; he’d talked to bucky before, yet a part of him still felt like he was being disrespectful by calling bucky . . . bucky. maybe perhaps it was because peter’s mind was occupied elsewhere.

𝓗e could argue, that he socialised more here then he’d ever been on earth; perhaps, it was because they were all on this planet, and they were bound to know each other, more so or less. at least could’ve perhaps interacted with each other at least once. if the peter back then looked at the peter now, he’d probably not only be shocked with the amount of interactions he’d done in literally a day, but also the people he were surrounded with. those that were certainly much more experienced than he was.

it was still an astounding thought to think that he would be on a new planet in this century; the 2000s. to think that it would be so soon. he’d read of articles where humans could live on moons; and it was the only possible place outside of earth that beings could live on. but yet, to live in a planet miles and miles away; it sounded both amazing and fictional. perhaps even cooler, had it not been because of the circumstances for them back on earth.

the teen approached a blonde woman that he was sure he hadn’t really interacted with yet. he reached his hand out for a handshake.

𝓘t was still so incredibly cool to think that he knew the avengers in person, or at least, be linked to them. 

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

and the truth was, they weren’t as scary as they looked. though, at first he was scared of them; but now, he really wasn’t. he could almost snicker at hie own life; he was living a fanfiction dream, just minus the romance that were often in those. peter benjamin parker went from being a fan, admiring them afar to knowing them. and now, it would be being on a new planet. a whole new planet. definitely all fanfiction material.

he approached the archer, and tentatively tapped his shoulder. though he might’ve known the avengers, hawkeye wasn’t amongst those he was the closest or the most familiar with; though he do wish to be so.

“mr hawkeye? mr barton? i don’t think we have really properly been introduced, but hi! i’m peter man — no spider parker — peter parker.” peter introduced, internally cringing at himself.

𝓟eter could never say he would ever grow used to the maroon sands. he’d never saw one back on earth, and now he’d see one on quite a literally new environment. a part of him was half tempted to quote anakin skywalker, by stating that he “doesn’t like sand, it’s coarse, and rough. . .”. would he see a twin sun on this planet? now that would be a sight; to witness a twin sun in real life. 

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

there wasn’t much he could do on this planet yet; he didn’t bring his homework either, nor would they be due now. he didn’t consider bringing legos with him either, not that it would do him any help to cure his boredom. he’d helped around, he contributed everything he could, gave the most he knew. he wondered if he brought enough web fluids with him.

though, suddenly, he found himself wanting boba; he remembered cindy introducing him to that drink — a whole miracle; how he went his entire life without boba, he couldn’t understand.

“i think i’m craving boba.” peter commented.

𝓝ow that he thought about it, he was almost baffled with how many people he knew. back on earth, he was never truly aware, until now, when he saw the familiar faces around him, regardless he’s heard of them or know them — a few being him knowing them. introverted peter parker knowing more than just a ned leeds or an mj, or hell, even flash thompson. he would be knowing, not just have heard of some of these people. 

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

it was an interesting thought really. at least, he could almost snicker at the fact that being on a new planet meant he didn’t have to deal with homework anymore, nor could he use it as an excuse. he saw a familiar white-streaked hair, and a grin formed on his lip.

he’d run into rogue as spiderman, then did so again as himself back on earth. but to this day, he still found her ability (and even her hair; he would absolutely kill to have a white-streaked hair) so cool.

“miss rogue!” peter called out, as he jogged over to her.

𝓦hen the idea of moving to a new planet was first pitched to him by mr stark, he could argue that he was both excited yet scared. excited at the prospect of going to a new planet; very star wars. they’d ran into asgardians, and now the guardians, that had a really badass woman that was green (if he was correct, her name is gamora). he wondered if they could run into jedis; to see their lightsabers in real life, to even meet yoda in real life. to see a coruscant. 

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

yet, a part of him was scared. he was almost afraid of the change, even if it was for the best. he was scared that it would not be going well; so far it seemed to be going downhill; would this mission be a fluke? he was also scared what it could go worse; sure, they all had their strengths, but would all of them survive? be on this planet for long? though, at least he could comment that he’s been to space.

the teen observed the surrounding for the umpteenth time, before his eyes landed on mr stark, a bright smile forming on his lip, suppressing his own thoughts.

“hi mr stark!” peter quipped, “what are the chances that jedis might be real?”

peter is taking the decision alright — he knew he volunteered himself to be in the rescue group too; he’s ready for this new change, especially if it’s for the best. besides he has all the excuse now to make sci-fi references!

he’s a mix of scared and excited. peter is not as , “weathered” as everyone else around him. he’s scared because he’s scared for aunt may — worried and thinking about how she would fare, even though he was the one that made the decision. i suppose it’s natural to also be afraid of change. however, he’s excited because it’s not everyday that you get to move to go to a new planet

it’s better to cooperate than fight against new alliances. unless he has to fight, then will fight

peter is most definitely optimistic that the relocation will work out just fine. the amount of effort he’s seen gone into it — it’ll probably be highly unlikely that it won’t work.

peter volunteered to be a part of the rescue group, because he was concerned for those that were on the planet, and also because he wished to help
