Ginny & Georgia, the new Netflix tv series with a touch of Desperate Housewives and Gilmore Girls, has been a nice surprise. The free-spirited, strong mother Georgia raises her two children Ginny and Austin in a new city. Georgia is running away from a shady past that she wants to hide, and Ginny is frustrated with her mother’s secrets. Actually, I can’t consider the plot original, BUT I loved how it deals with the issue of racism and the sense of belonging. We finally see a woman who doesn't cry over her misfortunes. Georgia rises from the ashes like a phoenix!!

listen to your body. pay attention to what it needs as well as it wants. recognize that methods of recovery that may work for some may not work for you. respect your body’s limits, and set boundaries around those in your life who are not good at respecting these limits. never feel bad about curating a safe experience for yourself.

Feeling stressed is pointless.
Hi everyone,
Finally, I'm back!!! I'm glad to continue writing here. About 1 month ago I had a car accident fortunately without serious consequences, I just ruined my car (it wasn't my fault, but I couldn't prove it, so I felt bad about that).
This situation caused me a lot of STRESS and this made me reflect on the fact that I use this word too often.
Why am I always stressed in my life? There is always a good reason to be stressed and I realized that I can't go on like this!
Has saying that I'm stressed ever solved anything? It hasn’t.
I realize I must give a specific name to what I’m feeling to be able to deal with it better.
When we go to the doctor the more detailed we are with our symptoms, the more likely we are to get the right treatment, so I have to stop lying to myself. I have just to hug my emotions.

If you are feeling low, depressed and blue, I want you to remember not to be too hard on yourself, darling. When we feel like we hit rock bottom, we usually shut down; we stop talking to others, we stop replying to messages, we push the ones we love away, which often makes the other person feel like they did something wrong. That’s okay, my love. You are not a bad person if you react like this. If this is what you feel like, then feel it out. And if feeling it out means you need to isolate for a while, then that is okay too. This is your way of coping and I know that you might have little to no influence on it, because part of you is hurting and your emotions take over. So, don’t text back. Don’t force yourself to smile. Don’t pretend to be happy. Don’t talk to anyone. Just know that you should reassure people that it has nothing to do with them. It is just you, trying to survive and even though it seems wrong, if this is what you have to do, then do it. I am not judging. I understand. I truly do. Do not beat yourself up for the way you cope, for it does not make you a terrible person, my love, it makes you a fighter.

Boundaries will take care of you.
The best discovery of 2020 was the importance of setting boundaries. I’ve understood how much the limit that I decide to put between me, and the other people is fundamental for my mental health. Setting boundaries is a way to protect myself from suffering and this is a powerful tool.
At the beginning I reflected on the origin of unhappiness, stress, fears and disappointments.  At this early stage I felt overwhelmed and my problem-solving skills were a little bit compromised, but the advice of trusted people was crucial to understand what kind of boundaries I had to set. When I started to use them in my daily life, I felt instantly a big relief.  
I think that the creation of boundaries is very personal it depends on several factors. I can only suggest following your instincts and being consistent.
I’m still learning to heal when my boundaries are violated and I’m learning to listen myself better.
I think that this will be a long self-care journey but I’m already seeing the results.

Self love is how you take your power back
Self-love is a broad topic, but now I want to share with you some reflections. In the past if I was asked what self-love represents only two sentences occurred to me: "You have to love yourself more" and "You can't love another person until you love yourself first". The truth is that I didn't have a clear idea about self-love, in fact, I’ve understood the deep meaning of the term only a few years ago. Some of you might think why so late. The answer is simple: I have spent many years pursuing different goals and concentrating on obtaining the approval of the people around me, especially my parents and friends. I was a slave to people's opinions.
I was under constant pressure which did not allow me to concentrate on myself.
Never being truly happy I realised that perhaps the key to improving my life was to focus on myself. I discovered that taking care of me is an act of love and that I don't have to prove anything to anyone. It slowly becomes a habit.
In my experience self-love is just putting yourself as a priority and this is important because your happiness depends only on your actions and if you really know yourself and you are committed to seek an inner balance you will surely be able to make better decisions that will improve your life.

“Something good will always come from trying”
This is the quote that I shared on my Instagram profile: “honestly, the best thing you can do is to just try. Even if you don’t know what the hell you’re doing. Something good will always come from trying”.
Actually, I think that sometimes this motivational quote is very difficult to implement. It’s harder to bet on yourself, especially when you are not certain that everything will be fine.
Weekly rendez-vous is my bet.  
At the beginning it wasn’t easy investing time and energy in this project with absolutely no guarantee of success. I often asked myself if it was worth it or not. Fear of failure, fear of not being perfect blocked me.
I made excuses to throw in the towel and I clearly tried to self-sabotage. Have you ever experienced this situation?
Fortunately, I realized that there was no real obstacle. The thing that I didn’t allow me to achieve my goal were just some mental blocks that my mind had created to protect me from failure.
I’ve learned that fear must not spoil my decision-making process.
If you are doubting yourself according to my experience, I can recommend challenging yourself.
Sometimes it is more stressful to procrastinate than do what you want to do. Remember that you have control over your thoughts and if you are honest with yourself you know what is best for you. Do yourself a favor and start believing that nothing is too good for you. Do not put much pressure on yourself and try not to have many expectations. Just do your best and take one step at a time and I’m sure that “Something good will always come from trying”.

Benefits of decluttering!
Starting from the assumption that I’m a messy person, but in my disorder, I find everything I need (oops maybe it would be better to say ALMOST everything!) I tidy up regularly my house and I must admit that it lifts my mood.
I often feel a stagnant energy around me, and as I throw objects and clean my bedroom, I feel a sense of relief. Decluttering gives me the opportunity of a fresh start.  When I was at university before I started studying for a new exam, I decluttered my desk by eliminating everything that wasn't study material. This really helped to improve my concentration and to keep me focused.
Decluttering boosts my self-confidence and a sense of achievement. Think how proud we feel after decluttering our wardrobe or cleaning our kitchen after a big lunch. Don't you agree?
One thing you have surely already heard and that I have been doing for some years is to make the bed before going out or before starting any activity.
The effort you put into making your bed really energize you, because you have reached your first goal of the day.
With this article I don't want to convince you to become like Bree of Desperate Housewives, but when you feel under the weather, tired and even unmotivated decluttering your bedroom/house is a good starting point and you will be surprised at how has it had a positive impact.

Dream board
During this pandemic it is not easy to have a clear idea of the future, sometimes I feel anxious and unmotivated.
To change my behaviour, I use three approaches: dream boards, to do list and journals.
Today I want to tell you about the dream board that is a collage of images, pictures, and affirmations of one's dreams and desires.
We are in a period of stalemate, but we certainly have more time to understand ourselves and to find possible solutions to improve our lives. Right now, it is crucial never stop dreaming!
Before creating your dream board, find a quiet and relaxed setting without any distractions.
Make a cup of tea or coffee and keep in mind that it takes approximately two hours in order to create it (especially if it’s your first time).
Take a pen and a piece of paper and think about what your goals are in the following areas: social life, career, home, health, education, travel, lifestyle and personal growth.
The purpose of your dream board is to bring everything to life. Give yourself a deadline to realize your projects (6 months or maximum one year).
Make a list of your specific goals (buy a dress of your favourite fashion brand, be hired in your desired company, start a balanced diet and reduce meat consumption etc...)
Think big, don't limit yourself, don't choose simple things that you can reach easily. Put yourself on the line and challenge yourself.
The next step is to look for quotes that will help you to stay motivated and focused and choose photos that will match to your dreams and goals. The last step is to put your photos and quotes together. There are many ways to create a dream board, I use collage app such as Canva or Inshot, but you can also print some photo and enjoy making it.
The aim is that by looking at it you then receive only positive vibes.
In my experience, when I am on the fence a dream board helps me to make decisions because it always reminds me what my plan is.
As soon as I’ve finished my dream board, I always decide to write a to do list.
I firmly believe that dreams only come true if you have the strength and the courage to pursue them and therefore it is crucial to create an action plan.
Ps if you are going through a hard time and you can’t imagine your future then you can prepare only a mood board using cheerful images, quotes and old photos where you felt happy.
