anyways participating in r/place fucked up my life. like wtf am i supposed to do with all these lingering emotions from speedrunning geopolitics and connecting with communities and panicking and feeling a sense of triumph and joy when you see what you’ve accomplished, and all the hearts and petty border disputes and crying over the “void” and arguing about pixel colours, and then it all ends in a white void…. majorly fucked up (/pos). im devastated. i felt like ive aged a century and fought in a war without any of the trauma. we built and destroyed worlds, ecosystems, communities; we played god with reddit pixels for a few days yet it felt like forever. this is a collective memory seared into my brain. nothing else will come close to the epic highs and lows of reddit pixels. decades worth of stories stuffed into nooks and crannies. the end is the beginning. we created a world, lived in it for such a short time, became attached, and then it was slowly eroded, snow falling on snow. the world doesn’t end with a bang, but with a whimper. slowly, slowly, it ends as slowly as we built it. what the actual fuck.
