one thing everyone is forgetting... CLARISSE WILL BE IN THE NEW TV SHOW

ok ok ok I know she’s not a fan favorite but hear me out

Clarisse is a POC and you can’t change my mind. She’s NOT skinny, she’s loud and overconfident to make up for her abusive upbringing (remember when Ares raises his hand and she flinches?!!). Yeah she bullies Percy for a while, not great, but she GROWS. She CHANGES and develops a soft side while not losing her strength. She is such a good representation of kids who are just angry and are told not to be. Kids who have no healthy outlet. But she is not a bad person, and she develops friendships and a romantic relationship and learns balance, and I think that is so overlooked, and I was so disappointed when the movies left her out because I saw so much of myself in her growing up.

can i just say: I have an intense appreciation for coffee shops

now, part of this is because I love coffee and tea, but there’s so much more than that. it’s the smells, roasted coffee beans, warm coffee, hints of chocolate and pastry. there’s always chatter in background, the grinding of fresh coffee beans, speckled with laughs and the huddling of papers, the clicking and clacking of keyboards, calming indie music from the ceiling. but the people. the people take the cake because there are just so many different people and no one has a problem. coffee shops are expected to be a relaxing place, so no one comes in with problems with other people. the baristas are usually hipster/indie and no one has a problem. in fact, they are often given endless compliments just for being them, when in other places they would be judged. there’s an old man talking happily to a younger, heavily tattooed man, and now the younger man is showing what’s he working on, the older man asking engaged questions, genuinely interested in what he is being shown. stay for long enough, and every type of person will come in: old people, young kids from down the street, every age in between. mothers, fathers, families. college kids, young professionals, high schoolers, middle schoolers. every size, every characteristic, physical or otherwise. every possible conversation is accepted and engaged in. books are be read and written. new businesses being discussed and being created. websites, games, goals, hopes, dreams, all being built, discussed, analyzed. all under one small roof. in short: coffee shops are magical places with one foot out of reality
