Uninhibited.
A new photo project for 2019-2020. Women’s skateboarding has been in the shadow (of men’s) but the past few years have seen it creep into the spotlight. With more interest and awareness in it than ever before, I hope to help showcase the real faces and genuine stories within it to champion these women as inspirational role models for the world and the younger generation. Sneak peek... Aika, shot at @theskatexchange.

Beautiful light, and captures the movement of the board and the skater." - Anna Paxton, Shextreme Photography Judge & Founder of Outdoorista Our winner Hannah is a highly regarded skateboarding photographer, digital specialist and communications expert. She runs an action sports communications agency called Neon Stash. Her media portfolio champions women in action sports and adventure.

I first met Tin back in 2015 at Skateistan in Phnom Penh. She is the Programs Officer for the skateboarding for development NGO, in charge of running the organizations sessions and inspiring the next generation of skaters in Cambodia. She was also the first woman I had seen skating in the country and she was really good. I was instantly inspired by her motivation, confidence and drive. I could see that she was on a mission to put skateboarding to good use in Cambodia, in particular to challenge societies opinion on what girls could do. Two years later I visited again and was amazed to meet crews of girls skating at local spots and as part of Skateistan – there was a crew of teenage girls looking up to her as a role model on a skateboard and off. Tin had taken a chance, pushed forward with what she believed in and attached a strong purpose to her skateboarding. Other girls were now following in her footsteps. Not only a talented skateboarder, she is a radio DJ, MC and teacher, as well as a really nice person. Last month I caught up with her at the launch of the new Skateistan Skate School through which more and more girls will be empowered through skateboarding and Tin…
