if you have strong mutable (gemini, sagittarius, pisces, virgo) placements then you NEED to write things down if you don't already. all those thoughts that constantly swirl in your head: the frequent tasks, goals, feelings, aspirations, opinions, etc - WRITE THEM DOWN. this is not only therapeutic & stress-relieving for you but almost necessary, or you're going to burn out and overload your own mind constantly.

when you bottle, or when you let plans, goals, dreams, to-do lists, projects, etc live solely in your head - you'll notice you can't sleep as well, it's harder to rest, your memory gets more foggy than usual, you feel burnt out and unable to connect, etc. specifically:

write down your feelings. this will be your ultimate (free) therapy. start to journal, write a diary. make a private twitter/tumblr where you spill your feelings, frustrations, thoughts. you will feel an immense sense of relief by writing or typing your feelings out - even if no one is reading it but you. mutable moons especially. our feelings tend to change rapidly, but it doesn't make them less valid. don't bottle out of the fear your feelings will change/you'll just "get over it"!! write it down and let it out!!

write! to-do! lists!!!!! these don't have to be for important things. you want to learn digital art? you want to study coding? you want to learn french? you want to re-decorate? you probably have a billion things you want to do, and then you get overwhelmed by the options, and do nothing. write down all the things you want to do. make a to-do list for these things. get them out of your head and somewhere permanent/physical. looking at the options in front of you will feel much easier.

make excel project trackers (you can even make these for to-do list items/goals/etc)! mutable placements have a tendency to start a lot of projects or tasks, and never finish any of them. make a simple tracker for all the projects you start. you won't forget what you're working on, and you'll be less overwhelmed trying to remember what you have going on (example of the one i always use pictured below)

talking out your thoughts and feelings is also very cathartic. make fake (or real, i support u!) youtube vlogs where you spill your feelings and talk about your plans, your day, what you have to do, etc. talk to someone you love and trust, vent to them about how things are; or about what you're getting up to. i find writing has an edge, because you can go back to it for reference (mutables tend to forget things easily) - but as long as you're getting the swirl of your mind somewhere outside of your head, you'll feel so, so much less stressed.

mutable dominants tend to constantly live in go-mode, we're restless and always doing something. we feel uncomfortable and sometimes guilty about staying still. our minds don't ever shut off. it's very important for mutable placements to learn how to rest, be present in the moment, and learn grounding. this can be done in many ways, but i've found personally that writing works best for me. other helpful practices can be: talk therapy, acceptance theory, yoga, meditation, hiking, camping, etc.

i also want to remind mutable signs: we change a lot. we have a lot of ideas. there's so much we want to do. we often feel like we have no path, no big goal; we can struggle with purpose as we don't often aspire for permanent things or "one big goal". this is NOT bad. there is nothing wrong with changing your feelings, your mind, your goals, your life path. you CAN do all the things you want to do! you have your entire life ahead of you! yes, you can learn all those languages. yes, you can have three different careers in your life. yes yes yes! don't listen to negativity from others. don't beat yourself up for not having one big goal like some people around you might. cherish and embrace all the things you want to achieve and complete (both big and small). learn to follow-through with and finish the things that matter to you (writing things down will really help with this, make action plans/steps - break everything down into smaller pieces). take the time to slow down and enjoy the moments as they come. you got this!

empty houses are lovely

i was wondering why whenever i try to start a new creative project i'm all of a sudden such a cancerian. my fifth house is in cancer and i'm starting to think that it isn't super accurate that you're solely your sun sign, rising sign, or moon sign because it depends on what area of life (astrological house) you're engaged with. my sun sign, sag, is the contra-antiscia of cancer - those two signs have totally different values and never see eye to eye on anything, and yet my most favorite author is cancer sun, my second favorite author is a cancer rising. i have no planets in cancer or the fifth house and yet.

and i may be very jupiterian but as soon as my 7h and 4h are engaged, houses which are both ruled by mercury in my chart, im overthinking, i'm over-talking, i'm all up in my head and the optimistic go with the flow sag stellium part of me just goes out the window.

the big three, sun / moon / rising, are good starting points but to be honest we are capable of engaging with all twelve of the signs, and it depends on what astrological house we're more consistently interacting with.

i would start out by determining whether the sign is cardinal, fixed, or mutable. take for example, if a cardinal sign is in the second house of self-worth, value, personal assets etc, then pioneering something, starting something new in this area of your life would be beneficial to your sense of worth. you need to summon your will in these areas of your life or i can promise you NOTHING will happen.

if it's mutable, and perhaps in the seventh and first house, you may need to be open and receptive but also experimental and explorative. you can still make commitments in mutable houses but the sense of freedom must be protected at all costs. mutable houses are also very relational.

if in a fixed sign then these are probably areas of your life you feel like you can do nothing about, as though they're out of your hands. like the commitments and obligations that seem to have chosen you. these are the areas wherein you need to summon patience and understanding in yourself. you may also be very close-minded and rigid in these areas. i have my third house of siblings and also point of view in life in a fixed sign and oh my god, that house is what truly changed me as a person because i was left with only two choices: open my heart and mind to what i'm naturally unwilling to understand, or remain stubbornly who i used to be.

next is noting the element of the house sign. if in an earth sign it may take forever to develop but what does come up tends to be long lasting and consistent, even when mutable, like virgo.

if it's in a water sign, then it's 'fertile' and you may constantly have things going on in that area even if it's fixed, like in the specific case of scorpio it would be transformation.

if it's in an air sign you may feel like nothing makes sense there, and it's so chaotic so you can develop a numbness to it until you don't even give any f's at all, which is not okay if that's the case. i have an air sign fourth house, and guys, *tearing up.. it's like feeling like you'll never have a consistent and stable home where you can feel a sense of emotional security in so even when you're at home you feel unsafe. it's taken me forever to establish a good home for myself and bring down that gemini chaotic energy but i got there eventually. air sign houses are busy and are constantly bombarded by novelty. it can also be a place where you can easily feel very alone and very understimulated. you need friends in this house. also, you need to develop great communication skills wherever these houses are in. you need to talk to people and try to find a common goal so you can really ground that chaos.

as for fire sign houses, engaging your physical body, engaging with the world of matter is important in these areas of your life. esoterically speaking fire is a highly unstable energy and so you have to create something out of it. the suit of wands in tarot represents fire and it represents creating. it's also associated with the sacral chakra of creativity. when you have a fire sign house make something. exhaust energy. you have loads of gasoline or battery or whichever energy source you can think of in this area of your life, so spend it, or it may spend itself in destructive ways because the energy of fire that is highly unstable must be spent no matter what.

but having written all of this i'm starting to believe eckhart tolle a little more when he said that our real self is the witness observing the whole of experience (i.e., our birth charts) but that's a completely different topic.

sextiles are la dolce vita

this started out as a post about sags in love but it just ended up being about sextiles and i didn't round out my conclusions about sags in the end bc i just kept expanding on the idea of sextiles so this post doesn't really end the same way it begins, hope it's a fun read anyway; i use pisces and sagittarius as examples for activating sextile signs, so if you have placements of any kind in these signs it might be helpful.

one of my friends here said that they understood the philosophical side of sags but not their romantic side, which i thought was interesting, given how obsessed we are with romance, so i thought i'd write a bit about it here.

sag sextiles libra and aquarius, the sign of harmony, beauty, and relationships, and the sign of friendships, innovation, and the common good. while for the feminine signs, the signs sextiling them provide a way to ground their chaos (we consider chaos sacred here), for masculine signs, the signs 60 degrees away provide a source of, i guess, "stimulation" if you will, a way to come up with new ideas, a novel way of shaping itself that it would have never learned from a trining sign alone.

sag's trining signs are aries and leo, both very self-oriented signs (nothing wrong with this). however, its sextiles being in aquarius and libra, are outwardly focused. sagittarius being the last fire sign, and a mutable sign wishes to spread its philosophy as much as possible, but if it relied solely upon its trining signs it wouldn't have the tools necessary to communicate with the world (a sextile will require effort and initiative to activate, unlike a trine, which is a jupiterian aspect, and thus doles out blessings passively).

the infamous sag mouth, of being blunt and accidentally hurting people's feelings, of being totally naive about how their words and actions may affect people actually comes from those sextiling signs not being activated as yet. unfortunately, there's no challenge in relying solely on your trine sisters. the fun wears away eventually because not a lot of new things are happening. you're on repeat. you become predictable and the jokes stop being funny. there's no creation which could only really happen with the sextile signs, which is a venusian aspect. jupiter (which rules the trine) amplifies whatever you are, but venus makes you brand new everytime.

as an example, it's like the difference between 'talking at' an audience from a podium and not really being able to see their faces because of the lights, versus having a genuine and sincere exchange with someone in a comfortable setting, and leaving that conversation having learned something new, not only about yourself but also about the other person.

you could say the sextile signs 'humble' the masculine signs they're sextiling, but also make them waaay more interesting, fun, and stimulating. with the feminine signs, their sextile sisters help them through the dark labyrinth of chaos they're constantly having to deal with, and it's so beautiful and wonderful once you've activated the sextiles if you have feminine placements. for example, with pisces, you have taurus and capricorn as your sextile sisters. once you as a pisces placement initiate a connection with these energies, then it's like incarnating this idea of unconditional love that you naturally have access to, but which you may have a hard time protecting or expressing, through taurean sensuality and pleasure in forms, as well as capricorn sense of working towards a life's work. it's not a surprise that a lot of pisces placements end up being artists and creating new careers in the world specific to their niche passions.

but going back to why i started writing all this in the first place: sag placements, when the sextile connections are still inert can have a very clear idea of what they want for themselves and getting that, but may struggle to make room for the other person's needs and desires, or if it's a group they're speaking to, struggle to connect with the group's needs and desires. i used to be this way as a sag sun and stellium. i wouldn't say i was annoying but i definitely used to be kinda dense and oblivious to people and naively assumed they were all just like me. the stereotype i see everywhere of sags being the loudest and most annoying person in the room is i think an indication that the sextile connections in those people are dormant. but i've also seen sagittarians for whom those sextile aspects (w libra and aquarius) are active and busy, to the point where you don't know what they actually want from you or what their real intentions are.

i think that when balanced active sextile connections can make sags charming and even bewitching, at the very least give them social skills, a far-cry from the annoying and loud stereotype.

this is such a tangent, but i already mentioned pisces earlier, which is a lot like sag, being both ruled by jupiter. pisces sextiling taurus, versus sag sextiling libra explains the kind of art both signs usually fall into. pisces placements aren't trying to reach for an ideal of perfection in their art, if they do, it's most probably the opposition influence from virgo. to me piscean art is like a garden overgrown. the influence of chaos and its attendant whimsiness are definitely there. and it's not always about any specific topic at all, sometimes its just art for the sake of art. whereas a lot of sag artists i know of are usually writers, writing about love and marriage, funnily enough, like jane austen or george eliot (never read them but if my little research is correct these are usually the topics they covered in their books). or they're writing about something intellectual (aquarius), whatever form their art takes there's a conscious intentionality to it and it does strive towards a standard or ideal of perfection of some sort, whether it's a moral ideal, a philosophical, or aesthetic one. there's always a topic their works center on, unlike with pisces, which again is working with chaos.

i was supposed to talk about sagittarians in love but this just ended up being about the importance of sextiles so this is what ya'll are getting. i'll cover the other signs in another post, but leave an ask if you want me to go in depth with a particular sign <3

edit: tacking this onto the end bc i forgot to clarify it above. but you don't need existing sextiles in your chart to work with it, you can take whatever placement you already have, like a taurus moon for instance, and then refer to the official sextile signs of taurus, which would be pisces and cancer then work with those. but if they exist in your chart sextiles are powerful, albeit rather dormant unless activated.

Natal SUN/PLUTO Aspects The Quest for Authenticity🕯️

Let me set the vibe, first.

It's a brand-new playlist, and I do accept recommendations!

The Sun in astrology is the archetypal King figure. It represents our consciousness, the pure awareness that I AM. Every planet has its own WILL, and the Sun’s will is to BE — to shine and express itself into the world. This is our personality and ego, but also our Life Force, a.k.a Spirit. When we look at the Sun and its aspects/house placement, we see what gives us a sense of fulfillment and purpose in life.

On the other hand, Pluto is the Lord of the Underworld, the Sorcerer hidden away from the light. It’s a generational planet that helps us heal and evolve spiritually by putting us in critical situations. Similarly to Uranus and Neptune, Pluto is an Outcast , a Divergent— the opposite of the widely accepted and adored King. I personally imagine him as a Quasimodo-looking character, but make no mistake. Pluto is immensely powerful.

When these two unite, it’s uncomfortable for both. Pluto feels exposed, and it desperately wants to hide away from the light, whereas the Sun feels like it’s been covered with a thick cloak of darkness.

The Aspect is Most Potent if:

it’s within 5 degrees (those are the orbs that I’m using)

it’s APPLYING instead of SEPARATING

it's a conjunction, square, opposition, quincunx, or quintile (harmonious aspects are usually less intense, especially the Trine)

SUN/PLUTO NOTES

📌 This is a highly karmic aspect - especially karma from their father or paternal side of the family. They are essentially breaking the taboos and secrets their ancestors couldn't didn't dare to speak about and confront. These people are the ILLUMINATORS who shift their family's paradigm around heavier, darker topics. They don't have to dig for any familial secrets, though. If they do their personal shadow work, they will break the chains of karma for all past and future generations.

📌They might become socially powerful and be known for their power/sexuality/mystery/criminal activity or occult/healing abilities. They could also become self-obsessed, or obsessed with their goals and desire to be known.

📌The Sun represents a woman's ideal husband, which is why in a woman's chart, this aspect can be really dangerous. She might be unconsciously attracted to (and even marry) abusive, controlling, really DARK individuals. They will mirror, and take to an extreme, her own unintegrated Shadow and/or unresolved daddy issues.

📌You might know these people for a long time, and not actually know them. Some of them have IMPENETRABLE defenses. When they do let someone in, they are terrified of being truly seen - with their good, bad, and ugly sides. This vulnerability is the cave they fear to enter, but it holds the treasure they seek. Deep down, they DO want to be seen and accepted as they are. But they most likely won't get that love from another person until they learn to love themselves unconditionally, first. They have to stop trying to run away and hide from themselves (or their father).

📌 Their father, and specifically his relationship to his Shadow, and the darker aspects of life, played a big role in the formation of their personality, and how they view themselves.

There are three scenarios here - 1) he was either a PUNISHER of the shadows (could've literally worked as a policeman, for example); he was an EXPLORER (psychologist, investigator) or he was a HEALER - occultist, energy worker, etc.

These are three levels of consciousness. If he punished the shadows - his and the world's - the more shame and guilt he could've projected onto his child(ren). These people might feel as if he's always monitoring their steps, and they can't hide anything from him - especially their mistakes or anything "taboo". If they were heavily judged or punished, they will grow up feeling guilty and ashamed of a very big part of what makes them human.

This affects how they view themselves - they can either see themselves as a Divine Child, with both the Yin and Yang, light and dark within or as a Beast, some sort of a Devil responsible for all the evil in the world.

They should know that whatever it was, it had nothing to do with them and EVERYTHING to do with their father's own degree of self-acceptance and wholeness.

Nonetheless, their relationship with him is/was intense, and there might've been a lot of power struggles involved.

📌These people are MAGNETIC in a way people can't explain. Even if they aren't traditionally "beautiful" or "attractive", they just draw others in. Powerful presence and aura.

📌 It might take them some time to realize the power hidden in their shadows. They are destined to become Alchemists, but how easily or quickly this will happen depends on their free will and desire to separate themselves from their father's projections/expectations.

The task here is to become SELF-AWARE. They can use a myriad of tools - therapy, meditation, yoga, energy healing, somatic work, OR ART to channel their Shadow and integrate it into their consciousness.

📌 During their lives, they are often called to the gates of the Underworld. They learn how to enter it fearlessly, and how to listen to the voice within. This process of illumination (Sun) will help them transform their subconscious mind (Pluto), and when they emerge from this metaphorical Underworld, their work and expression in the world will have a different quality, richness, and potency to it. This is how they step into their power and leadership - by making peace with the demons of the past.

📌 Introverted or extroverted? Both. It mostly depends on the specific aspect, but also on other placements. We know that Mars is Pluto's lower octave. So, in their early life, some of them might be quite extroverted, focused on worldly ambitions, and even be less selective about the people they let in their close circle. As they age though, their focus turns inwards. They can progressively become more introverted, self-reflective, and their goals/values can dramatically shift. As their vibration goes up, they go from being the Warrior to being The Wizard.

📌 If they don’t work to reclaim their power and express themselves truthfully and unapologetically in the world, they can become jealous and bitter. They can lurk behind the scenes of life, and try to sabotage those who do what they want to do, or they might try to destroy themselves. Depression is possible, as well as suicide attempts and risky behavior.

Pluto wants them to kill something about themselves, which is most likely their cowardice/pride/vanity/past conditioning. But not their physical selves. It's never about the physical, although it can feel this way. These people will either feed the Collective Shadow or help heal it. When they do the latter, they become potent forces of transformation for other people, as well.

📌 Life wants them to be humbler. They can carry a lot of pride and might try to appear as perfect and "spotless" as possible. They might be afraid of their reputation being destroyed or bruised in some way.

📌They are on a Quest for Love. When they learn how to forgive themselves and others, their HEARTS will open, and the light of the Sun will shine through. They can become truly unconditionally loving, and they have to start with themselves, first.

📌 Pluto is connected to our Divine Feminine energy (although it's not a feminine planet) a.k.a Kundalini. So, these people need to learn how to SURRENDER to the Divine. This is a major lesson, so for a good portion of their life, they might feel tempted to gain power through CONTROL and domination, but this will only worsen their karma.

As they will understand, the only real power is the power of Truth and Unconditional Love.
