Savage Sibs thoughts because they're occupying my mind now.

They are both terrifyingly good with technology. Terrifyingly, because since they never got any real experience with actual tinkering with it, they are both going on instinct. Which usually works, but also is extremely chaotic.

Connected to the previous one, whenever they get to tinkering, since they didn't have much experience, they most of the time can't tell how dangerous it is what they're creating. They're just having fun with what they're making, and not really thinking in the terms of "danger scale".

Sails is the only of the Prime Bros to actually be able to understand Mangey. The rest can basically try and guess what he means, but Sails truly understand the savage kit. Neither Tails nor Nine know why is that and it's driving them crazy.

Sails and Mangey have a secret handshake. It consists of a lot of movement, twiddling their fingers and at such a fast speed neither Tails nor Nine can follow or repeat it, no matter how many times they saw it already.

My big-brained friend @nortedwayfinder and I like to imagine that food shortage is a prominent part of aosth. Sometimes the children are on the run for a while and can’t stop safely, or simply run out of money or friendly faces to rely on for charity, and that means they sometimes go days without eating.

Angsty, right? Haha (kinda) WRONG !!!

Because Sonic and Tails are masters of improv and being public nuisances alike. Tails gets nabbed?? He’s actually in the kitchen the whole time robotnik is busy monologuing, stuffing his face and stealing snacks to save for Sonic when he arrives.

Because if some dude is gonna burden you with the weight of growing up super fast and make an 11 year old and a toddler the sole guardians of the peace then you should be able to clean out his refrigerator. like fuck you and ur stupid shrink ray ivo im taking the thin mints

I always loved this little moment in Sonic Mania Adventures where Sonic turns to check on Tails after getting bodied by Metal.

“Oh I'm gonna kick this guy's ass--”

“little bro okay? 🥺”

“I'M GONNA DOUBLE KICK HIS ASS.”

Reminder of a Starline themed BumbleKast Q&A where Ian Flynn as Starline talks about what he would have done with Sonic and Tails bodies after the events of Issue 50: [ Tw! Child Death + Taxidermy ]

Starline is such a genuinely terrifying character (who I miss everyday ahh) and his disregard for children and his willingness to mentally and physically manipulate them for his own evil purposes (especially in the context of this answer) is genuinely chilling. It’s something I think even Eggman would be semi disturbed by which is saying a lot.

The idea of him using Sonic and Tails preserved bodies as trophies and as an example to others is so insanely horrifying, and the “well then I’ll just have to start a gallery won’t I!” in response to the idea of other hero’s trying to rise up against him somehow finds a way to make it extra disturbing. The mental image of Amy, Knuckles and all their other friends seeing what Starline has done to the brothers… to their family 💔

The thought of Surge and Kit having a constant physical reminder of what they’ve done… that while Sonic and Tails may be out the way, the two unwilling doppelgangers will forever be in their shadow, unable to truly fill the roles they were forced into and the bond the brothers had. Them getting everything they thought they wanted, yet still feeling empty inside.

Long story short: Ian Flynn did not need to go this crazy with this answer but gosh am I glad he did.

Sails and Mangey shenanigans? 👀

Okay, so this one is the least developed, but let me see what I can cook up on the spot.

When Tails says you can't leave Sails and Mangey alone, he really means you can't leave Sails and Mangey alone.

If they're separately, the two are quite easy to manage. All there's needed are some trees (for Mangey to climb) or a tv programme about pirates (for Sails to watch and point out every single mistake and inconsistency).

But together? An unsupervised? Chaos forbid!

Last time, they somehow managed to reverse-engineer a fridge into a cannon (!) and used it to shoot themselves from the cliff, making a contest of "which one can fly further and longer before using his tails to catch himself".

And before that, it was a deadly obstacle course, running all through the Mystic Ruins, the jungle and ending by the workshop. It wouldn't be half-as-bad if they were the only ones doing it. But the obstacles were hidden, so that any unfortunate passerby, Big and Sonic included, could trigger the mechanisms and be for a nasty surprise.

There are more examples, but you get a drift. Sails alone - cool. Mangey alone - manageable. Sails AND Mangey alone?

So when one day Tails can't find neither of the two foxes, of course he gets worried. He knows they both are around. He's seen them arrive, not at the same time but neither left. Now, neither is around and Tails can already feel the headache coming from what they might be up to this time.

He picks up his Miles Electric and dials a number. It's time to call the reinforcements.

"Hey, Nine," he says as soon as the call goes through. "Up for some fox hunting?"

Don't worry, they're all fine afterwards. Sails and Mangey just have one braincell that says "build fun stuff" but the braincell doesn't tell them "fun" can be also "dangerous". I imagine they don't have much experience with tinkering and all, so when they have the opportunity, they just go wild (nothing new for Mangey fjdmndnd).

Anyway, I think this could go into kinda "hunters and hunted" game with Prime bros, the teams being Sails+Mangey Vs Tails+Nine, with possible collateral damage of at least Sonic. Might be fun to explore and I'll defo do some research on pirate speech to write Sails properly.
