Whumpee was sure the "new whumper" poisoned them, or at least laced their drink with sleeping pills. The new whumper at least wanted them dead. Why else would they steal them away from the first guy, trap them in this small room, and keep them waiting in sweet anticipation?

Caretaker walked into whumpee's room, and asked, "Is there anything I can do to make you... less tense?"

Here they come again with these weird prompts and questions. What the hell does the new whumper want from them? They restrain me, drug me to keep me "calm", dress my wounds so they may have a blank canvas in the future.

"Whumpee? Respond to me please?"

Okay, hear me out....

A caretaker with an extremely conditioned whumpee.

Caretaker is forced to "speak their language" to get through to whumpee. Caretaker has to start acting like Whumper to slowly undo the conditioning.

They have to start harsh and strict to slowly teach Whumpee what freedom is, or reintroduce them into their own agency.

Maybe Whumpee was a slave or a pet, and all they know are orders and discipline and reward. Before Caretaker figures this out, Whumpee is listless or catatonic, or maybe self-destructive and reckless. Without order and routine, Whumpee has no idea how to function, their mind is sent into chaos.

Caretaker has no interest in being a master, but to get through the conditioning, to even get them medical help, they are forced to get their hands dirty.... Orders are just necessary- "you're going to the hospital, that's an order" or "I order you to decide on what you want for dinner."

Caretaker never wanted this power and responsibility over another person.

With power, there is also the risk of corruption.

Maybe Caretaker is terrified about walking the fine line between helping their severely damaged and twisted whumpee and becoming the new whumper.

Maybe they get it right, maybe they get it wrong, maybe it's something in between, there's so many directions this could go and all of the threads are so interesting.

Is there anything cooler than a character going feral and turning against their teammates, thus resulting in those teammates having to forcefully restrain (and possibly fight) their companion, who's still trying to attack them in a blind frenzy?

GOD i just love whumpees kept against their will in luxury

King sized beds with fluffy blankets, fine wines and gourmet dinners, expensive clothes and jewelry, constant affection 24/7...

Only to be met with a whumpee who spits and fights back at every turn, demanding release. A whumpee who'd rather be out on the streets and free than to live as a pet in some creep's mansion.

This has probably been done before, but I love the idea of a lab Whumper who is trying so so hard to be ethical. They would absolutely subject themself to any of the procedures they’re subjecting Whumpee to, but they don’t have [whatever trait whumper is studying].

They gave Whumpee the chance to join the study voluntarily, but when they refused, Whumper had to take matters into their own hands. This research will benefit the whole world, Whumpee’s consent and freedom aren’t more important than that… right? Right. They’re doing the right thing.

Whumper puts so much work into making their conditions as good as possible. Spends time with them to make sure their social needs are being fulfilled, lets them get an hour or more of sunlight almost every day, lets them choose what kinds of clothes they want to wear and what kinds of foods they want to eat. What brand of soap is in the bathroom connected to their cell room.

They’ll turn themself in once all of this is over. They’ve been keeping very detailed records of everything they’ve been doing, including all the crimes. They fully plan on losing their freedom permanently, and it’s a price they’re willing to pay. Their freedom is not worth more than the world, either.

Whumper always explains what’s going to happen in each procedure unless Whumpee asks them not to. They offer pain-killers and sedatives anytime a procedure might be uncomfortable or painful, unless they absolutely need Whumpee to feel it.

They plan out little wins for Whumpee. Ways for them to feel closer to escape, to feel in control. Little hidey-holes in their cell and ‘accidentally’ leaving things where Whumpee can grab them so they feel like they have some things that are theirs. Whumper ‘lets things slip’ about where they are. Whumper ‘decides against’ certain procedures when Whumpee begs or does something clever, and though they never actually planned on doing the procedures in the first place, it keeps Whumpee contented.

They give Whumpee updates on their family when asked. They push down the urge to distance themself, day after day. It’s tempting, to see Whumpee as less than human. It would make this easier on their conscience. But their conscience shouldn’t be eased, and if they’re going to abduct someone the very least they could do is remember always that they are a person and they don’t deserve any of this.

Unfortunately, it’s not about ‘deserve.’ It’s about ‘need,’ and the world needs this research.

Todays vibe is whumpees who bite. It’s fun when they’re backed into the corner, all other methods of fighting back taken away from them, and the only way they can think to fight is to sink their teeth into the hand reaching towards them.

Or maybe the whumpee is tied to a table surrounded by people (maybe receiving medical care, maybe something painful), and someone brushes their hand just a little too close to the whumpee’s face…

(Been in a “muzzled because they wouldn’t stop biting” sort of mood lately too)

Runaway Whump!

I don't even remember how long its been since my last Whump post, anyways, better late than ever...here you go!! I don't know if this is already a thing, but I am OBSESSED with Whumpees running away for any reason. Like:

An emotionally disturbed Whumpee running away from their overprotective Caretaker just to clear their head.

That Caretakers blinding panic when they walk into Whumpee's room, only to find their bed empty. (Bonus points of they're carring a tray of food and drop it in panic, sending broken potery and food rolling onto the floor).

A runaway attempt gone horriblly wrong, when Whumpee falls, breaks a leg and is unable to walk or is rendered unconscious in a remote area.

The sense of immediacy when a search party comes across Whumpee's unmoving bloddied body, assuming the worst. (Bonus points if they ran away from Whumper and was found by Caretaker's team).

A Whumpee having to be forceably returned to Caretaker when they're not ready to go back, because it'll be a danger to their health if they do not.

Whumpee avoiding search parties at all costs; hiding in trees, running down alley ways by being chased by police or guards.

A Whumpee who ran away being intercepted by Whumper's team and held for leverage, such as ransome. (Bonus points if Whumpee is of high status, like a noble of some sort or even royalty).

A family member or friend of Whumpee, or even Caretaker themselves checking usual places for Whumpee, especially if they're already a flight risk.

Having a "Safe Zone" establish between Whumpee and Caretaker, so that Whumpee can clear their head while Caretaker is still able check in on them and make sure their safe. This could include Caretaker and Whumpee exchanging written notes with eachother or meeting at certain times, to check in with one another.

The whumpee would act as the whumper’s personal helper most of the time, which actually led the people who would usually rescue the whumpee to believe that the whumpee was in the same side and had the same mindset as the whumper. The whumpee hates that sometimes, they’re looking straight into the eyes of people that could give them freedom, if they didn’t hate the whumpee.

The whumper had been keeping the whumpee for a very long time now, and that entire time they had been carefully making sure the whumpee stayed completely loyal by not just punishing them- but rewarding them. The whumpee would sometimes be desperate enough to actively seek out rewards, and that had built up to complete obedience at one point. The whumper just loved that the whumpee feared them enough to follow every order.
