Yeah, you’re right! My partner and I bought a house. I’m at her parents’ house right now for Thanksgiving. When I’m sad, I miss writing, and sometimes I feel like I should finish stuff. She encourages me to, but I don’t have time. We’re always busy. But we’re happy and doing well! Thanks for checking in.

Not to sound dramatic, but if Ali Krieger doesn’t get the ball out of our corner, Megan rapinoe doesn’t find Abby wambachs head, and we don’t go to penalties vs Brazil. The USWNT doesn’t go nuclear in the media following that win in 2011, there might not even be an NWSL, and now both Ali and pinoe get to walk away in front of over 20,000 people. Thats leaving the game better than you found it.

It’s not that I don’t want those stories to get the endings they deserve, it’s that I want to spend every waking, non-working moment with my partner, not writing.

I did once. One person figured it out. I doubt I’ll do it again because a lot of people probably wouldn’t read a random person’s stuff.

Is this (she) why you don’t write anymore?

Yes and no.

I think I’m really able to write when I’m sad - not when my life is chaotic like it was with the last woman, and not when I’m happy like I am now.

But also, I mentioned at one point that I had some WoSo stuff on ao3, and that I hadn’t written anything since January. She pushed me to let her read something and I said no for a long time, but finally I was like, fine, give me your phone. I was planning on picking a fic that I deemed acceptable for her to read so she’d stop asking. But you know when you start to type in a website and it fills it in for you? Yeah, my ao3 came up. She had found it. Well, she had found something she liked and read everything and just hoped that maybe it was my stuff. Which it was. So that was weird. I guess it would’ve been weird if it hadn’t been mine… And I’d say that knowing she’ll read anything I post in the future plays a part in me having no motivation to do it. That and as it is, I’ve hardly found time to sleep, let alone pursue hobbies.

So what do ya think the USWNT chances at winning again are?

I’d say they have a really good chance of bringing it home again. I feel like Alex and Pinoe and Kelley will make sure the mentality is right this time, and with a lot of the competition missing key players due to injury, the depth of the US will really play a big part in adding another star above the crest.
